FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE — Platinum Walkthrough
Trophy: Master of Fate
Earn all FINAL FANTASY VII REMAKE trophies.
Type: Platinum
How to Unlock
Earn all 53 other trophies in Final Fantasy VII Remake to unlock the Platinum. You'll need to complete all 18 story chapters on Hard difficulty, finish all 26 sidequests, collect every music disc, master all weapon abilities, and obtain all nine bridal outfits. You'll also need to complete Chadley's Battle Intel Reports, learn every Enemy Skill, defeat Malboro, and conquer the Pride and Joy Prototype in the Shinra Combat Simulator. Hard difficulty becomes available after completing the story once on any difficulty. Chapter Select then allows you to replay chapters with your existing levels, weapons, Materia, and equipment. Nothing is permanently missable, so you can return for any overlooked trophies after finishing the story. Once every other base-game trophy has been earned, Master of Fate unlocks automatically.
Tip
Plan your three sets of bridal outfits around your first playthrough, Hard Mode run, and Chapter Select cleanup. This avoids unnecessary chapter replays. Start leveling Healing, Revival, HP Up, MP Up, and Prayer Materia early. These will make Hard Mode considerably more manageable.
Warning
Hard Mode is mandatory for the Platinum. Completing the story twice on Easy or Normal won't satisfy Hardened Veteran. You don't need any INTERmission DLC trophies for the PS4 Platinum. Saving Midgar is one thing. Convincing Jules to lose a pull-up competition is another.
Trophy: Disc Jockey
Collect all music discs.
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Collect all 31 music discs in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Music discs are scattered throughout Midgar and can be obtained from jukeboxes, vending machines, merchants, and NPCs. You don't need to play every track; simply adding each unique disc to your collection counts. Begin collecting discs during Chapter 3 and continue checking shops, side areas, and characters throughout the story. When an undiscovered song is nearby, a music indicator can help you locate its source. Several discs require extra attention. In Chapter 9, earn at least 10 Great ratings during the Honeybee Inn dance tutorial to receive Let the Battles Begin! -REMAKE-. This reward is separate from Dancing Queen, which concerns the main performance. In Chapter 14, complete The Power of Music sidequest to collect three songs needed to cheer up Betty: Good Night, Until Tomorrow, Stand Up, and Fight On! After obtaining all 31 unique discs, Disc Jockey unlocks automatically.
Tip
Use the Chapter Select screen after completing the story to identify chapters containing missing music discs. Chapter 9 has several easily overlooked songs, so explore Wall Market thoroughly and check the music indicator whenever it appears. You can collect missing discs on Easy difficulty, even after starting your Hard Mode playthrough.
Warning
The Honeybee Inn tutorial music disc is particularly easy to miss because the tutorial can be skipped without affecting story progression. Repeat the tutorial until you earn its reward. Some music discs come from speaking with specific NPCs rather than purchasing them, so don't limit your search to shops. You don't need every soundtrack track released outside the game. Only the 31 collectible music discs count. Cloud may insist he's not interested in music, but by the end of this trophy he'll have enough records to open Midgar's first mercenary-operated radio station.

Trophy: Divine Gratitude
Receive a letter from an angel.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Obtain the Letter from the Guardian Angel during Chapter 14, In Search of Hope. The safest way to unlock this trophy is to complete all 24 sidequests available during your first playthrough before leaving Chapter 14. These include six sidequests in Chapter 3, six in Chapter 8, three in Chapter 9, and nine in Chapter 14. Remember that Chapter 9 contains mutually exclusive quest paths, so completing all 26 sidequests in one playthrough isn't possible. Once you've finished the available Chapter 14 quests, progress through the main story until Leslie guides the party into the sewers. Complete the sewer section, defeat Abzu, and return to the surface. Before climbing the wall to reach Shinra Headquarters, follow the path through the Urban Advancement District toward the wall marked with Avalanche graffiti. Look for a small blue glowing item on the ground near the Chocobo fast-travel location. Pick it up to receive the Letter from the Guardian Angel and unlock Divine Gratitude. You'll also receive an Elemental Materia, an excellent reward for your upcoming Hard Mode playthrough.
Tip
Complete all available sidequests during your first playthrough to make the letter's appearance as reliable as possible. Finish The Angel of the Slums in Chapter 8 and all nine Chapter 14 sidequests rather than leaving optional requests unfinished. Check your quest progress before approaching the Chapter 14 point of no return.
Warning
The exact minimum requirements for the letter have been debated, so completing every available sidequest during the playthrough is the safest recommendation. The letter is not automatically awarded when you finish your final sidequest. You must physically collect it from the ground. If you leave Chapter 14 without obtaining it, you'll need to return through Chapter Select and meet the necessary conditions again. After helping nearly everyone in Midgar, Cloud finally receives a thank-you letter. No bonus payment, no vacation time, just heartfelt gratitude. Mercenary benefits remain questionable.

Trophy: Music Collector
Collect 3 music discs.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Collect three music discs. Music discs are optional collectibles scattered throughout Midgar. They contain tracks from Final Fantasy VII Remake's soundtrack and can be played using jukeboxes. You'll find discs in several ways, including purchasing them from merchants or vending machines, interacting with jukeboxes, and speaking with certain NPCs. You can collect your first three music discs during Chapter 3 in the Sector 7 Slums. Visit Seventh Heaven and interact with the jukebox to obtain Tifa's Theme. Purchase The Prelude from the neighborhood item shop. Then travel to the Sector 7 train station and purchase Barret's Theme from the nearby vendor. Once you've obtained three different music discs, Music Collector unlocks automatically.
Tip
Chapter 3 contains additional music discs, so explore the neighborhood carefully while completing your sidequests. When an unobtained music disc is nearby, a music-related indicator can appear on your screen. Use it as a clue to investigate shops, jukeboxes, and nearby characters. Keep collecting discs throughout the story. You'll eventually need all 31 for Disc Jockey.
Warning
You must collect three distinct music discs. Buying or encountering a disc you already possess doesn't increase your collection total. Some discs are located in chapters you cannot freely revisit until Chapter Select unlocks after completing the story. Missing a disc isn't permanent, but collecting them during your first visit saves unnecessary chapter replays. Midgar may be collapsing under corporate greed, but at least Cloud can still find time to build a respectable music collection. Every mercenary needs a good playlist.
Trophy: Best in the Business
Complete all quests.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Complete all 26 sidequests in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Sidequests, also called Odd Jobs, appear in Chapters 3, 8, 9, and 14. There are six quests in Chapter 3, six in Chapter 8, five possible quests associated with Chapter 9, and nine in Chapter 14. However, Chapter 9 contains two mutually exclusive quest paths, meaning you can only complete three of its five quests during a single visit. For an efficient Platinum route, complete every available sidequest during your first playthrough. In Chapter 9, follow the route that unlocks The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body, alongside Burning Thighs. This is especially useful because The Party Never Stops contributes to The Johnny Experience. Finish the story to unlock Chapter Select. Return to Chapter 9 and make different choices to access the alternate quests, The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack. Complete both missing quests to bring your cumulative total to 26. Best in the Business unlocks once all 26 unique sidequests have been completed.
Tip
Check System, then Play Log, to view your cumulative Odd Jobs Completed total. The active chapter's quest list may only display quests completed during your current visit, so don't mistake that for your overall trophy progress. Combine sidequest completion with Dressed to the Nines by using the alternate Chapter 9 quest route during a different bridal outfit run. Complete all available quests during your first playthrough to help secure Divine Gratitude in Chapter 14.
Warning
You cannot earn Best in the Business during your first uninterrupted playthrough because the Chapter 9 quest routes are mutually exclusive. The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body cannot be completed during the same visit as The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack. Simply accepting a quest doesn't count. Complete its objectives and receive credit for finishing it. Nothing is permanently missable because Chapter Select allows you to revisit previous chapters. Cloud begins the game as a highly trained mercenary. By the time this trophy unlocks, he's also a professional cat finder, monster exterminator, delivery assistant, and neighborhood errand specialist. Truly the best in the business.

Trophy: Building Character
Attain level 50 with a character.
Type: Bronze
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Reach level 50 with any playable character. Level 50 is the maximum character level in the base game of Final Fantasy VII Remake. Characters earn experience points by defeating enemies and completing certain objectives. Continue progressing through the story and participating in optional battles to increase their levels. You'll likely finish your first playthrough below level 50, but completing Chapter 18 unlocks a significant experience bonus. After finishing the story, all difficulties award double EXP and triple AP, making Chapter Select an excellent way to level your party. For efficient grinding, return to the Corneo Colosseum in Chapter 14 and repeat available combat challenges. Alternatively, revisit Shinra's Combat Simulator in Chapter 16 or Chapter 17 and complete battles that provide substantial EXP rewards. You can also obtain EXP Up Materia from the Chapter 16 Shinra Combat Simulator to accelerate the process. Continue fighting until any character reaches level 50 to unlock Building Character.
Tip
Combine your EXP grind with Materia leveling. Equip unfinished Magic Materia so you make progress toward Intelligence Agent while earning character experience. Use AP Up Materia, obtained by transforming Pedometer Materia after walking 5,000 steps, to accelerate the growth of an important Materia orb. You'll earn plenty of additional experience while completing Hard Mode, so extensive grinding isn't necessary if your party is already close to level 50.
Warning
Only one character needs to reach level 50. You don't need to max out the entire party for this trophy. Level 50 is the cap, so continuing to earn EXP afterward won't increase that character's level further. The EXP and AP bonuses unlock after completing the main story, not merely after reaching a particular chapter. Cloud can become a legendary level 50 warrior, but he'll still occasionally be asked to retrieve someone's missing cat. Character development works differently in Midgar.

Trophy: Dressed to the Nines
Obtain all nine bridal candidate outfits.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Obtain all nine bridal candidate outfits for Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. Each character has three different outfits, determined by your choices and sidequest completion during Chapters 3, 8, and 9. Tifa's outfits depend on the Alone at Last discovery event in Chapter 3. Complete all six sidequests to unlock the event, then choose Mature, Sporty, or Exotic. If you skip most sidequests, she'll automatically receive the Mature outfit. Aerith's outfits depend on your Chapter 8 sidequests. Complete zero to two quests for her simple pink dress, three to five for her standard pink dress, or all six for her elaborate red dress. Cloud's outfits depend on your Chapter 9 sidequests. Completing The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body gives one outfit, completing The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack gives another, and skipping optional quests gives the third. You need three separate sets of decisions to collect every outfit. For an efficient Platinum route, use the following order: First playthrough: Choose Sporty for Tifa, complete all six Chapter 8 sidequests, and follow The Party Never Stops quest route in Chapter 9. Hard Mode playthrough: Choose Exotic for Tifa, complete three to five Chapter 8 sidequests, and follow The Price of Thievery quest route in Chapter 9. Final cleanup: Skip most Chapter 3 sidequests for Tifa's Mature outfit, complete zero to two Chapter 8 sidequests, and skip the optional Chapter 9 quests. Dressed to the Nines unlocks after all nine outfits have been recorded.
Tip
Use Chapter Select after completing the story to replay Chapters 3, 8, and 9 without repeating every chapter between them. Check System, then Play Log, to monitor your bridal outfit collection. Complete Chapters 3 and 8 after changing their relevant decisions so the new choices carry forward. In Chapter 9, you can check your Play Log as each character's outfit appears. Once the required outfit is registered, you don't necessarily need to finish the entire chapter.
Warning
The Chapter 9 quest routes are mutually exclusive. You cannot obtain all three Cloud outfits during a single visit. Chapter 3 requires at least one sidequest to progress normally. For Tifa's default Mature outfit, simply avoid completing all six. Don't assume selecting a new outfit choice immediately records another dress. The corresponding outfit must actually appear during Chapter 9. Nothing is permanently missable, but poor planning can add several hours of unnecessary replaying. Cloud has fought giant monsters, infiltrated military facilities, and challenged destiny itself. Somehow, assembling nine outfits is still one of his most demanding assignments.

Trophy: Hardened Veteran
Complete all chapters on Hard difficulty.
Type: Gold
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Complete all 18 story chapters on Hard difficulty. Hard Mode becomes available after completing Final Fantasy VII Remake on any initial difficulty. Once you've finished the story, open the main menu, select System, and choose Chapter Selection. Select Chapter 1 and set the difficulty to Hard. Continue completing the chapters until all 18 have been cleared on Hard difficulty. You can play the chapters in any order, but progressing sequentially is recommended because you'll gradually earn additional manuscripts and strengthen your equipment. Your character levels, weapons, Materia, and learned abilities carry over from the initial playthrough. However, Hard Mode introduces several important restrictions. Enemies have increased health and damage, items cannot be used, and resting benches restore HP but not MP. You'll need to rely on Materia, character abilities, and efficient resource management to survive. Equip Healing, Revival, HP Up, MP Up, Prayer, and Chakra Materia where appropriate. Magnify linked with Healing is particularly useful because it allows one healing spell to restore HP across your party. Use Assess to identify enemy weaknesses, save MP whenever possible, and take advantage of free healing abilities between difficult encounters. Cloud's Counterstance is extremely effective against several melee-focused bosses, including Reno, Rude, Rufus, and Sephiroth. When facing enemies with powerful ultimate attacks, consider Barrier Materia and Manawall to reduce incoming damage. After finishing your final outstanding chapter on Hard difficulty, Hardened Veteran unlocks.
Tip
Use System, then Play Log, to track your Hard Mode chapter completion progress. Complete chapter-specific objectives and boss fights to earn manuscripts that provide additional SP for weapon upgrades. You don't need to complete every optional sidequest again unless you're collecting manuscripts or working toward another trophy. After defeating Pride and Joy Prototype, equip the Götterdämmerung accessory to make the remaining Hard encounters significantly easier. Prayer and Chakra are especially valuable because they restore HP without consuming MP.
Warning
Every chapter must be completed on Hard difficulty. Starting a chapter on Hard and switching away before finishing doesn't count. You must finish each chapter to register its Hard Mode completion. Hard Mode isn't available when starting a completely new game. Access it through Chapter Select after your first story completion. Items are disabled entirely, and benches don't replenish MP. Don't enter difficult boss fights with an exhausted party and expect the game to provide a free refill. Some of the hardest encounters occur in Chapters 9, 17, and 18, so make sure your equipment and Materia are properly prepared. Cloud has defeated Shinra's military, survived countless monsters, and confronted Sephiroth. Now the game politely asks him to do everything again, except harder and without potions. That's the Platinum experience.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlO9ECm6dq4
Trophy: Intelligence Agent
Complete all battle intel reports.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Complete all 20 Battle Intel Reports for Chadley. You'll first meet Chadley in Chapter 3, where he gives Cloud the Assess Materia and introduces his research assignments. These reports require you to perform specific combat tasks, such as assessing enemies, exploiting elemental weaknesses, staggering different enemy types, learning weapon abilities, and mastering Materia. Continue checking Chadley's assignments throughout the story. Completing reports unlocks additional Materia and VR battles, including the summons Shiva, Fat Chocobo, Leviathan, and Bahamut. Most reports can be completed naturally while progressing through the game, but Battle Intel Report 18 requires extra preparation. For that report, you must fully master all 12 types of Magic Materia: Healing, Cleansing, Revival, Fire, Ice, Lightning, Wind, Poison, Barrier, Binding, Subversion, and Time. After completing the story, take advantage of the double EXP and triple AP bonuses to finish leveling any remaining Materia. The other demanding requirements include staggering 40 different enemy types, mastering enough weapon abilities, and completing Chadley's summon simulations. Once reports 1–19 are complete, defeat Bahamut in Chadley's final VR battle to finish Report 20. Intelligence Agent unlocks after completing all 20 reports.
Tip
Equip Assess Materia throughout your first playthrough and scan unfamiliar enemies. This helps with multiple reports and reveals useful elemental weaknesses. Obtain Pedometer Materia in Chapter 14 and walk 5,000 steps to transform it into AP Up Materia. Link AP Up to whichever Magic Materia still needs the most experience. After finishing the story, repeat battles in the Chapter 14 Colosseum to earn AP efficiently. You'll also make progress toward Building Character. You can fight Bahamut on Easy difficulty if you're struggling with the final simulation.
Warning
You must complete all 20 reports, not simply unlock them or purchase Chadley's available Materia. The Magic Materia mastery requirement applies to 12 different types. Mastering several copies of the same type doesn't replace a missing one. Remember to return to Chadley after fulfilling your objectives so your completed research can be registered and new reports become available. Chadley calls it scientific research. Cloud calls it fighting hundreds of monsters while carrying an increasingly unreasonable number of magical rocks. Both descriptions are accurate.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1cF-bf0vZM
Trophy: Master of Mimicry
Learn all enemy skills.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Learn all four Enemy Skills using Enemy Skill Materia. First, complete Chadley's Battle Intel Report 16 by assessing 30 different enemy types. This unlocks Enemy Skill Materia for purchase from Chadley. Equip the Materia on a party member before encountering an enemy capable of teaching one of the required abilities. The character wearing Enemy Skill Materia must be hit by the appropriate enemy attack to learn the skill. You may need to let the enemy repeat its attack before the ability registers. The four required Enemy Skills are Spirit Siphon, Self-Destruct, Algid Aura, and Bad Breath. Spirit Siphon can be learned from a Phantom using Essence Drain. A convenient opportunity occurs during the Missing Children sidequest in Chapter 14. Self-Destruct can be learned from a Smogger using Self-Destruct, or from other enemies with an equivalent self-destructing attack. Smoggers appear in the Sector 5 Slums scrapyard during Chapters 8 and 14. Algid Aura can be learned from a Cerulean Drake using Icy Aura. These enemies appear in the Chapter 3 sidequest Just Flew In from the Graveyard and during later encounters. Bad Breath is learned from Malboro, encountered in the Chapter 17 Shinra Combat Simulator's Three-Person Team vs. Monsters of Legend challenge. The Malboro challenge becomes available after completing the story and requires Hard difficulty. Once all four abilities have been learned, Master of Mimicry unlocks.
Tip
Equip Enemy Skill Materia before entering the Malboro challenge, then allow the character wearing it to be caught by Bad Breath at least once. After learning the ability, move behind Malboro to avoid subsequent attacks and finish the battle. You can combine this objective with That's the Smell, which requires defeating the same Malboro. For the other three abilities, Chapter Select provides convenient opportunities to revisit the necessary enemies.
Warning
Defeating an enemy that possesses an Enemy Skill isn't enough. The character equipped with Enemy Skill Materia must be affected by the relevant attack. Don't defeat Malboro before learning Bad Breath, or you'll need to repeat the five-round simulator challenge. Enemy Skill Materia must be equipped during the encounter. Merely possessing it in your inventory doesn't count. Bad Breath can inflict several harmful status effects, so bring Cleansing Materia and reliable healing abilities. Only in Final Fantasy can someone deliberately get blasted in the face by a monster's toxic breath and call it professional development.

Trophy: The Johnny Experience
Witness all Johnny-related incidents.
Type: Bronze
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Witness all Johnny-related incidents throughout the story. Johnny is an enthusiastic but frequently unfortunate resident of Midgar whose adventures repeatedly intersect with Cloud's journey. You'll need to complete the required Johnny encounters across Chapters 3, 9, and 14. The first incident occurs automatically during Chapter 3 when Cloud and Tifa become involved in Johnny's confrontation with Shinra soldiers. The second incident takes place in Chapter 9. When Johnny runs past Cloud and Aerith in Wall Market, follow him and complete his optional discovery event. Choose the supportive dialogue response when prompted. The third incident is also in Chapter 9 and requires completing the sidequest The Party Never Stops. During this quest, accompany Johnny around Wall Market while helping obtain the items needed for the drunken clothing-shop owner's inspiration. The final incident occurs in Chapter 14 during Tomboy Bandit. Complete Kyrie's request at the Corneo Colosseum, recover Johnny's wallet, and return it to him near the Sector 5 train station. After witnessing the required incidents, The Johnny Experience unlocks.
Tip
Prioritize The Party Never Stops during your first playthrough of Chapter 9 because it belongs to one of two mutually exclusive sidequest routes. Choosing the alternate quest route can prevent this sidequest from appearing during that visit. You can return through Chapter Select after finishing the story if you miss an incident.
Warning
Don't confuse completing Tomboy Bandit with finishing Johnny's involvement. Make sure you return his wallet to him. The Chapter 9 discovery event is optional, so follow Johnny when he runs through Wall Market instead of ignoring him. Some guides count the individual steps differently, but the important requirements are the Chapter 3 encounter, both Chapter 9 events, and Johnny's Chapter 14 wallet storyline. Johnny has an incredible talent for finding trouble, losing important belongings, and making Cloud solve his problems. At this point, he should probably be paying a monthly subscription.

Trophy: Weapons Expert
Learn all weapon abilities.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Learn every weapon ability for Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith. Each playable character has six weapons, giving you 24 weapons to collect across the game. Every weapon has a unique combat ability. To permanently learn an ability, equip its associated weapon and repeatedly use that ability until its proficiency reaches 100%. Once mastered, the ability remains available even when you equip a different weapon. You'll obtain weapons through story progression, treasure chests, shops, sidequest rewards, and one particularly important Steal opportunity. Most weapons are straightforward to collect, but several deserve special attention. In Chapter 11, equip Steal Materia before fighting Eligor and steal Aerith's Bladed Staff. Its unique ability is Lustrous Shield. In Chapter 16, obtain Tifa's Purple Pain from the optional monkey-bar route during her Shinra Building lobby sequence. Also in Chapter 16, speak with Hart after meeting Mayor Domino and pay him 10,000 gil to obtain Barret's EKG Cannon. In Chapter 17, collect Cloud's Twin Stinger and Aerith's Reinforced Staff from their respective purple treasure chests. Continue collecting the remaining weapons and mastering their abilities until all 24 are available for use independently of their original weapons. Weapons Expert unlocks once every weapon ability has been learned.
Tip
Whenever you obtain a new weapon, equip it immediately and use its unique ability until proficiency reaches 100%. Check each ability's proficiency bonus condition. Fulfilling the bonus often increases proficiency faster than simply repeating the attack. You can track proficiency through the weapon equipment menu. Use postgame Chapter Select to revisit any missed weapon locations. Equipment and mastered abilities carry over between chapters.
Warning
Simply collecting all 24 weapons isn't enough. You must reach 100% proficiency with every weapon's unique ability. Aerith's Bladed Staff is especially easy to miss because it must be stolen from Eligor rather than collected normally. Cloud's starting Focused Thrust ability is already mastered, but the other weapon abilities must be learned through combat. Weapon upgrades and manuscripts are not substitutes for ability proficiency. Cloud already owns a sword larger than most people, but apparently he needs five more. And that's before the other three characters start shopping.

Trophy: My First Summon
Invoke a summon.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Summon a creature during battle for the first time. You'll receive your first standard Summon Materia, Ifrit, from Jessie near the end of Chapter 3. Open the Materia & Equipment menu, select a character, and equip Ifrit in the dedicated Summon Materia slot. Summons can only be called during eligible combat encounters, generally involving bosses or other powerful enemies. One of your earliest opportunities comes in Chapter 4 during the battle against two Sweepers. When the purple Summon Gauge appears, continue fighting until enough of the gauge has filled and a character has the required ATB available. Open the combat command menu, select Summon, and choose Ifrit. My First Summon unlocks as soon as you successfully summon the creature. You don't need to finish the battle or wait for Ifrit to perform its ultimate attack.
Tip
Ifrit is particularly useful against enemies vulnerable to Fire, making him a valuable addition to your early-game combat options. Summoned creatures fight independently, but you can spend ATB to command them to use special abilities. Later in the game, Chadley's VR missions provide additional summons, including Shiva, Fat Chocobo, Leviathan, and Bahamut.
Warning
Simply obtaining or equipping Summon Materia doesn't unlock the trophy. You must actually summon the creature during an eligible battle. The Summon Gauge won't appear in every encounter, so don't worry if the option is unavailable while fighting ordinary enemies. You don't need to summon a specific creature. Any successful summon counts. Cloud already carries an enormous sword, but apparently that isn't enough. Sometimes you need to invite a giant fire demon to help settle an argument.
Trophy: Returning Champion
Emerge victorious from a colosseum sparring session.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Win an optional sparring match at the Corneo Colosseum. During Chapter 9, Cloud and Aerith enter the Corneo Colosseum as part of the main story. Progress through the mandatory tournament until you defeat the Hell House boss. After the tournament ends, return to the Colosseum's basement and speak with the attendant who manages the optional combat challenges. Choose any available sparring match. A low-difficulty challenge is sufficient, so there's no need to select one of the tougher competitions. Defeat every enemy in the selected challenge to complete the sparring session. Returning Champion unlocks after your first successful optional Colosseum victory. You can also earn this trophy during Chapter 14 if you didn't complete an optional challenge during Chapter 9.
Tip
Immediately after defeating Hell House, return to the Colosseum before continuing the story. This is the best opportunity to complete Aerith's solo challenge, Aerith vs. Wild Animals. You'll eventually need to complete the relevant Colosseum challenges to unlock the Pride and Joy Prototype encounter for Ultimate Weapon. Completing the Aerith challenge now saves you from having to replay much of Chapter 9 later.
Warning
Winning the mandatory story tournament doesn't unlock Returning Champion. You must complete a separate, optional sparring challenge. Aerith becomes unavailable for Colosseum challenges once you progress too far through Chapter 9. If you miss her solo challenge, you'll need to return through Chapter Select after completing the story. You don't need to play on Hard difficulty to earn Returning Champion. Cloud defeats a house in the arena, and the organizers immediately ask whether he'd like to fight something else. Wall Market really knows how to retain its customers.

Trophy: Staggering Feat
Deal 300% damage to a staggered enemy.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Increase an enemy's stagger damage multiplier to 300% or higher. When an enemy becomes staggered, its damage multiplier normally begins at 160%. Certain abilities can increase this percentage, allowing your party to inflict significantly greater damage while the enemy remains staggered. The easiest target is Fat Chocobo in Chadley's VR simulation because it has a lengthy stagger duration and enough HP to survive repeated attacks. For the most reliable strategy, wait until Chapter 16 and obtain Tifa's Purple Pain weapon, which teaches True Strike. Enter the Fat Chocobo simulation on Normal difficulty so the enemy doesn't die too quickly. Before staggering Fat Chocobo, use Tifa's Unbridled Strength twice to upgrade her Triangle attacks to Rise and Fall. Build two ATB charges with Tifa, then stagger the boss. Immediately use Rise and Fall, followed by Omnistrike, to increase the multiplier. Next, use True Strike repeatedly, building additional ATB with regular attacks whenever necessary. You can also have Aerith use Ray of Judgment to increase the stagger multiplier further. Once the displayed percentage reaches 300% or higher, Staggering Feat unlocks.
Tip
True Strike increases the stagger damage multiplier by 30 percentage points per successful use, making it especially effective. Use Tifa's regular attacks between abilities to regenerate ATB quickly. Fat Chocobo is an excellent target because its long stagger window gives you time to perform several multiplier-increasing attacks. You can also work toward Chadley's stagger-related Battle Intel Reports during the same encounter.
Warning
Simply dealing a large amount of damage during stagger doesn't count. You must increase the displayed stagger damage multiplier to at least 300%. The unusually high stagger percentages shown during certain Chapter 18 scripted encounters don't satisfy this trophy. Avoid using your strongest damage-dealing abilities too early, since defeating Fat Chocobo before reaching 300% forces you to restart the encounter. Tifa can turn a perfectly respectable 160% damage multiplier into 300% through sheer determination and repeated punches. Fat Chocobo definitely regrets volunteering for Chadley's research.

Trophy: Summon Slayer
Defeat a summon in battle.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat a Summon in one of Chadley's VR battles. Chadley introduces Battle Intel Reports during Chapter 3. Completing these reports unlocks additional Materia and special combat simulations. Your earliest opportunity to earn Summon Slayer is through the Shiva VR mission, which becomes available after completing the first four Battle Intel Reports. Once Shiva's battle becomes available, speak with Chadley and select the VR mission. Shiva specializes in Ice magic and can inflict dangerous status effects, including Sleep. Equip Fire Materia to exploit her elemental weakness and consider using accessories that protect against Sleep. Build pressure by attacking with Fire spells, then use your strongest abilities when Shiva becomes staggered. Keep your party healed and continue attacking until she is defeated. Summon Slayer unlocks after winning the battle. You'll also receive Shiva Summon Materia as a reward.
Tip
You can complete Chadley's VR battles on Easy difficulty, making this trophy considerably more manageable. Use Assess to identify Shiva's weaknesses and learn how her attacks work. If Shiva proves difficult, return later with stronger equipment and more developed Materia. Any eligible Summon VR victory counts, so you aren't required to defeat Shiva specifically.
Warning
Summoning Ifrit or another creature during a normal battle doesn't count toward Summon Slayer. You must defeat a Summon as an opponent. The VR missions are optional, so make sure to revisit Chadley periodically as you complete Battle Intel Reports. Defeating Shiva also contributes toward obtaining all Summon Materia through Chadley's research. Apparently, Chadley's solution to improving magical combat research is having Cloud fight increasingly dangerous supernatural creatures inside a computer simulation. Very scientific.
Trophy: That's the Smell
Defeat a malboro.
Type: Silver
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat a Malboro in the Shinra Combat Simulator. First, complete the main story to unlock the additional combat challenges in Chapter 17. Use Chapter Select to return to Chapter 17 and progress through Hojo's laboratory until you encounter Chadley near the expanded Shinra Combat Simulator. Enter the simulator and select Three-Person Team vs. Monsters of Legend. This challenge is exclusive to Hard difficulty, even if you entered the chapter on an easier difficulty. You'll need to survive five consecutive battles against a Bomb, Tonberry, Type-0 Behemoth, Bomb and Tonberry together, and finally Malboro. The Malboro itself is relatively manageable compared with some of the earlier encounters. Use Cloud and Tifa to attack from its sides or behind while Aerith provides healing support. Avoid standing directly in front of Malboro when it prepares Bad Breath, which can inflict multiple harmful status effects. Continue pressuring and staggering the creature until it's defeated. That's the Smell unlocks after winning the final round.
Tip
Equip Enemy Skill Materia before entering the challenge and deliberately allow the equipped character to be hit by Bad Breath. Learning this ability contributes toward Master of Mimicry, letting you make progress on two trophies during the same encounter. Bring Cleansing, Healing, and Revival Materia. A character with Magnify linked to Healing can provide efficient party-wide recovery. The simulator restores some HP and MP between rounds, so use your resources carefully without being afraid to heal when necessary.
Warning
Don't defeat Malboro before learning Bad Breath if you're pursuing Master of Mimicry. Otherwise, you'll need to repeat the challenge. Items cannot be used during this Hard difficulty simulation. The Tonberry and Type-0 Behemoth rounds can be more dangerous than Malboro itself, so prepare for the entire sequence rather than focusing only on the final enemy. Malboro's signature attack is weaponized bad breath. Apparently, nobody in the Shinra research department has heard of mouthwash.

Trophy: Ultimate Weapon
Defeat the Pride and Joy prototype.
Type: Gold
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat the Pride and Joy Prototype in the Shinra Combat Simulator. This optional superboss is encountered in the Three-Person Team vs. Top Secrets challenge in Chapter 17. First, complete the main story to unlock Chapter Select and the expanded combat simulations. You'll also need to finish the required Corneo Colosseum challenges and the earlier Shinra Combat Simulator challenges. One easily overlooked requirement is Aerith's solo Colosseum challenge. Complete it immediately after defeating Hell House in Chapter 9, before progressing to the point where Aerith becomes unavailable. Once the prerequisites are satisfied, enter the Chapter 17 simulator and select Three-Person Team vs. Top Secrets. This challenge is available only on Hard difficulty and consists of five consecutive encounters: Shiva, Fat Chocobo, Leviathan, Bahamut, and Pride and Joy Prototype. A strong team is Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith. Equip Healing, Revival, HP Up, MP Up, and defensive Materia. Linking Magnify to Healing gives Aerith an efficient way to keep everyone alive. For Shiva, link Elemental and Ice Materia in armor slots to reduce incoming ice damage. Use Tifa to build pressure and increase stagger damage, while Cloud provides powerful attacks. Leviathan requires careful positioning and reliable healing, especially when preparing its devastating Tidal Wave attack. Bahamut is generally the hardest encounter. When its countdown reaches zero, it casts Megaflare, which can deal 9,999 damage to the entire party. Use Manawall to reduce incoming damage or rely on Reprieve to survive an otherwise fatal attack. When Bahamut summons Ifrit, eliminate Ifrit quickly before returning your attention to Bahamut. After surviving those encounters, you'll face Pride and Joy Prototype. Move Cloud and Tifa behind the machine whenever possible and attack its legs to build stagger. Keep Aerith at a safer distance for healing and support. Watch for its Catch attack, which grabs a character and can lead to a fatal follow-up. Attack the grabbing arm to release the trapped character. Defeat Pride and Joy Prototype to unlock Ultimate Weapon. You'll also receive the Götterdämmerung accessory, which begins battles with a full Limit Break gauge and gradually replenishes it during combat.
Tip
Consider attempting this challenge after completing most of your Hard Mode playthrough. Additional manuscripts improve weapon upgrades and make the encounters more manageable. Equip Revival Materia on every character and keep one dedicated healer available. The Götterdämmerung reward is extremely useful for any remaining Hard chapters, particularly difficult bosses near the end of the game.
Warning
Unlocking Three-Person Team vs. Top Secrets requires completing the prerequisite combat challenges. Simply reaching Chapter 17 isn't enough. The challenge consists of five consecutive battles. Losing a later round means repeating the sequence. Items are disabled because the challenge uses Hard difficulty rules, so efficient MP management is essential. Don't underestimate Bahamut. Reaching Pride and Joy is often more difficult than defeating the Prototype itself. After surviving four powerful summons, Cloud finally meets Shinra's ultimate secret weapon: an enormous mechanical contraption that somehow isn't the hardest thing in the room.

Trophy: Biker Boy
Get praised by Jessie at the end of the motorcycle mini-game.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Receive Jessie's highest praise at the end of the motorcycle minigame in Chapter 4. The chapter begins with Cloud riding a motorcycle alongside Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge while fighting Shinra troops on the highway. Your goal is to complete the entire motorcycle sequence while taking minimal damage and avoiding unnecessary hits. Use Square to attack nearby enemies, Triangle for your powerful spinning attack, and L1 + Triangle to launch a ranged attack against distant targets. Hold R2 to accelerate and use L2 to slow down when you need better control. After clearing the initial enemies, you'll face Roche in a motorcycle boss encounter. Block his smaller ranged attacks, dodge his heavier projectiles, and avoid the electrical attacks he creates while riding along the tunnel walls. When Roche moves close enough, use your strongest attacks to defeat him quickly. Finish the sequence with approximately 80% or more of your motorcycle's health remaining and avoid repeated slowing attacks to receive Jessie's best reaction. Biker Boy unlocks when she gives Cloud her highest praise.
Tip
Play Chapter 4 on Easy difficulty. Enemies deal less damage, making the required performance considerably easier. Use the ranged attack against drones and distant motorcycles so you can eliminate threats before they approach. Save at the end of Chapter 3 if you want to retry immediately during your first playthrough. Otherwise, use Chapter Select after completing the story.
Warning
Simply surviving the motorcycle sequence isn't enough. Jessie must give her highest level of praise. Avoid restarting from a checkpoint during the sequence, as doing so can invalidate the required performance. Restart the entire motorcycle section if necessary. You can earn Biker Boy through Chapter Select on Easy even if your original playthrough was on Normal. Cloud can defeat elite Shinra soldiers without breaking a sweat, but apparently earning Jessie's approval requires passing an advanced motorcycle driving test.

Trophy: Cleanup Crew
Obtain the Chocobo & Moogle materia.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Obtain the Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia in Chapter 6, Light the Way. While navigating the platforms surrounding Mako Reactor 5, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret must disable three Sun Lamps to restore power to the main cargo elevator. During this section, Tifa notices a red Materia orb behind one of the enormous ventilation fans. After disabling all three Sun Lamps, return toward the main cargo elevator, but don't board it yet. Instead, head west and locate the smaller elevator leading to the ventilation maintenance area. Ride the elevator across, enter the control room, and activate the green terminal to begin a 60-second challenge. Defeat the enemies in the adjoining room before the timer expires, then activate the terminal beside the exit. This opens the passage behind the ventilation fan. Enter the newly accessible area and collect the red Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia to unlock Cleanup Crew.
Tip
Equip Lightning Materia to deal with the mechanical enemies during the timed challenge. Use Cloud's Triple Slash to clear multiple targets quickly, and make sure you activate the second control panel before the countdown ends. The nearby vending machine also sells the Electric de Chocobo music disc, which contributes toward Disc Jockey.
Warning
You must collect the Chocobo & Moogle Materia itself. Simply opening the ventilation passage doesn't unlock the trophy. Boarding the main cargo elevator and progressing into the reactor prevents you from returning during that visit. If you miss the Materia, you can replay Chapter 6 through Chapter Select after completing the story. Somewhere inside Shinra's heavily guarded infrastructure, somebody decided to hide a magical Chocobo behind an industrial ventilation fan. Excellent storage solution.

Trophy: Crate Annihilator
Complete all Normal difficulty Whack-a-Box challenges.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete the Normal difficulty Whack-a-Box challenge in Chapter 8, Budding Bodyguard. After reaching the Sector 5 Slums with Aerith, complete the Kids on Patrol sidequest. This unlocks A Verified Hero, which introduces the Whack-a-Box minigame at the children's secret hideout. Speak with the children to begin the challenge. Your objective is to destroy boxes and accumulate at least 30,000 points before the timer expires. Different boxes provide different benefits. Yellow boxes award points, blue boxes also replenish ATB, and red boxes add valuable time to the countdown. Large 1,500-point boxes often block important routes and require several attacks to destroy. Use Cloud's Triple Slash ability to break through these obstacles efficiently, and hold Square to perform sweeping attacks against clusters of smaller boxes. Prioritize reaching red time-extension boxes rather than attempting to destroy every box along the way. Once you finish the Normal Whack-a-Box challenge with at least 30,000 points, Crate Annihilator unlocks.
Tip
Equip the Iron Blade or another weapon after mastering Triple Slash so you can use this ability during the minigame. Triple Slash is excellent for quickly destroying large obstacles, especially when you have enough ATB available for consecutive uses. Look ahead for red time-extension boxes and plan your route around them. Extra seconds are usually more valuable than clearing an optional cluster of low-point boxes. If your score falls short, replay the minigame immediately. There is no penalty for additional attempts.
Warning
The trophy requires a score of at least 30,000 points in the Normal Whack-a-Box challenge. Simply completing the A Verified Hero sidequest without reaching the required score isn't enough. Whack-a-Box Wunderkind is a separate trophy for the harder challenge available in Chapter 14. You don't need to complete that version to earn Crate Annihilator. Cloud has defeated monsters, robots, and elite soldiers. Now a group of children wants to know whether he's qualified to smash cardboard boxes. Finally, a challenge worthy of his talents.

Trophy: Dancing Queen
Received a gift from Andrea for being a dance superstar.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Receive Andrea Rhodea's special gift by delivering an excellent performance during the Honeybee Inn dance sequence in Chapter 9, The Town That Never Sleeps. As part of the main story, Aerith takes Cloud to the Honeybee Inn to prepare him for his audition at Don Corneo's mansion. You'll first complete a short dance tutorial. This provides an opportunity to practice the timing system before the main performance begins. During the actual dance with Andrea, watch the button prompts appearing on the screen. Press the corresponding button just as the surrounding indicator contracts and begins glowing. Accurate timing awards a Great rating, while less precise inputs result in Good or Bad ratings. Aim for approximately 24 Great ratings or better, with as few mistakes as possible. The exact required score isn't displayed, but consistently excellent timing will earn Andrea's approval. Once the performance ends, Andrea presents Cloud with his special gift, unlocking Dancing Queen.
Tip
Make a manual save before entering the Honeybee Inn so you can reload if your performance doesn't qualify. Focus on the timing indicators rather than Cloud's impressive dance moves. The visuals are entertaining, but they can also distract you from the next prompt. The tutorial has a separate reward: earning 10 Great ratings gives you the Let the Battles Begin! -REMAKE- music disc, which contributes toward Disc Jockey.
Warning
Simply completing the mandatory dance sequence doesn't guarantee the trophy. Andrea must be sufficiently impressed with your performance. The tutorial score doesn't determine Dancing Queen. Only your performance during the main dance counts. If Aerith applauds enthusiastically afterward, that's a good indication you've succeeded. If not, reload your save or retry through Chapter Select. Cloud has defeated giant robots, elite Shinra soldiers, and a murderous house. Now his greatest challenge is remembering which button to press while wearing a fabulous outfit.

Trophy: Gotta Start Somewhere
Complete a quest.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete your first sidequest. Sidequests, also called Odd Jobs, become available in Chapter 3 after Cloud begins working as a mercenary in the Sector 7 Slums. Look for characters marked with green quest icons and speak with them to accept their requests. One of the easiest early sidequests is Lost Friends, which involves helping Betty find three missing cats. After accepting the quest, search the Sector 7 Slums for the cats near Cloud's apartment, Seventh Heaven, and the train station area. Once you've located all three, return to Betty to complete the assignment. Gotta Start Somewhere unlocks automatically after finishing your first sidequest. Any other completed Odd Job will also count toward the trophy.
Tip
Complete all six Chapter 3 sidequests during your first playthrough. This contributes to Best in the Business and unlocks Tifa's Alone at Last discovery event, which determines one of her bridal outfits. You can review available sidequests through the map and quest menu. There are 26 sidequests in the base game, spread across Chapters 3, 8, 9, and 14.
Warning
Merely accepting a sidequest doesn't count. You must complete its objectives and receive credit for finishing it. You cannot complete all 26 sidequests during a single playthrough because Chapter 9 contains mutually exclusive quests. Nothing is permanently missable, however, because Chapter Select allows you to return after completing the story. Cloud trained to become an elite SOLDIER, but his first neighborhood assignment involves tracking down three cats. Everyone starts somewhere.
Trophy: Heavenly Dart Player
Rise to the top of the Seventh Heaven darts leaderboard.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Rise to the top of the darts leaderboard at Seventh Heaven. During Chapter 3, Cloud gets an opportunity to play darts while waiting for the AVALANCHE members to finish their meeting. Approach the dartboard inside Seventh Heaven and begin the minigame. The objective is to reduce your score from 301 to exactly zero using as few darts as possible. Wedge holds the leaderboard record with eight darts, so you must finish in seven throws or fewer to earn the trophy. An efficient strategy is to hit the bullseye five times for 250 points, then finish with a triple 17 worth 51 points. This produces a six-dart finish, giving you room for one mistake while still beating Wedge's record. Aim carefully and release each dart when the targeting reticle contracts to its smallest point. Once you finish in seven darts or fewer, Heavenly Dart Player unlocks.
Tip
The bullseye awards 50 points, and both the inner and outer bull areas count toward that score. Focus on controlling the reticle's movement rather than throwing immediately. The aiming circle narrows periodically, providing a brief window for an accurate shot. If you make too many mistakes, quit the minigame and start again instead of finishing an attempt that can no longer beat the record.
Warning
Finishing in exactly eight darts ties Wedge's record and doesn't unlock the trophy. You must finish in seven throws or fewer. You can return to the dartboard later in Chapter 4 or replay Chapter 3 through Chapter Select after completing the story. Completing the challenge also allows you to receive Luck Up Materia from Wedge during Chapter 4. Cloud has survived years of combat training, but his greatest challenge in Seventh Heaven is apparently proving that he can throw tiny objects accurately while everyone else holds a meeting.

Trophy: In Lockstep
Bypass the delta-level security lock in Mako Reactor 5.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Bypass the delta-level security lock in Mako Reactor 5 during Chapter 7, A Trap Is Sprung. Near the end of the reactor, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret must operate three synchronized switches to open a security door. This first switch puzzle is mandatory for story progression. After successfully opening the main door, don't leave the area immediately. Instead, interact with the nearby terminal marked by the optional Waste Recovery discovery objective. You'll need to operate the synchronized switches again to unlock the disposal room containing the equipment removed from the Airbuster earlier in the chapter. Complete four additional synchronized switch sequences: Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta. Use the left and right analog sticks to move Cloud's switches in the same direction and at the same moment as Tifa and Barret. Watch the visual indicators and listen to Tifa's countdown to synchronize your movements. Once all four security levels have been bypassed, the Waste Recovery door opens and In Lockstep unlocks.
Tip
Focus on Tifa's verbal timing cues rather than trying to watch all three characters simultaneously. When she finishes counting down, move both analog sticks together in the required direction. You can retry failed sequences without restarting the entire chapter, so don't worry if your timing isn't perfect immediately. The Waste Recovery room also contains useful rewards based on which Airbuster components you discarded earlier.
Warning
Opening the first synchronized security door doesn't unlock In Lockstep. You must complete the optional Waste Recovery puzzle and bypass the additional security levels. If you leave Chapter 7 without opening the disposal room, you'll need to return through Chapter Select after completing the story. Cloud can swing a gigantic sword with perfect precision, but moving two switches at the same time apparently requires an entire team-building exercise.

Trophy: My First Ability
Max out a weapon's proficiency.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Master a weapon's unique ability by reaching 100% proficiency. Every weapon in Final Fantasy VII Remake has a special combat ability associated with it. When you equip a new weapon, its unique ability becomes available during combat. Repeatedly using that ability increases its proficiency. Once the proficiency reaches 100%, the character permanently learns the ability and can use it while equipped with other weapons. An easy opportunity comes in Chapter 3 when Cloud receives the Iron Blade, which teaches Triple Slash. Equip the Iron Blade and enter combat against enemies around the Sector 7 Slums. Build ATB using normal attacks, open the command menu, and select Triple Slash. Continue using Triple Slash in combat until its proficiency reaches 100%. My First Ability unlocks when you've successfully mastered the ability.
Tip
Check your weapon proficiency through the weapon equipment or upgrade menus. Each weapon has a proficiency bonus condition that can accelerate progress. Review the weapon's description and fulfill that condition whenever possible. Continue mastering newly acquired weapon abilities throughout the game. You'll eventually need every weapon ability for Weapons Expert.
Warning
Cloud's starting Buster Sword ability, Focused Thrust, is already mastered and doesn't count toward earning this first proficiency trophy. You must master an ability from another weapon, such as the Iron Blade. Simply equipping a weapon or upgrading its statistics doesn't increase ability proficiency. You need to use its associated combat ability during battles. Cloud's Buster Sword may be iconic, but mastering Triple Slash means he can hit three enemies instead of dramatically posing in front of one. Efficiency.
Trophy: Peeress of Pull-Ups
Complete all pull-up challenges.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete all three pull-up challenges at the Wall Market gym during Chapter 14. First, accept the Wavering Heart sidequest from Andrea's trainer, Ms. Folia, inside the gym. The sidequest introduces Tifa to the pull-up minigame, where you'll compete against another character by following a sequence of button prompts. Complete the introductory Trainee challenge to finish the sidequest. Afterward, speak with Jay to begin the Amateur challenge. Defeat Jay, then challenge Jules to the Pro competition. During each round, follow the displayed button sequence carefully. The required sequence changes between challenges, so don't assume the pattern will remain the same. As Tifa completes more repetitions, the visual prompts disappear and the rhythm gradually accelerates. When fatigue occurs, rapidly press the indicated button to recover before continuing your sequence. Win all three challenges to unlock Peeress of Pull-Ups.
Tip
Start slowly and establish a reliable rhythm before increasing your speed. Watch Tifa's movements once the button prompts disappear. Her animation provides useful clues about when to press the next button. Avoid falling at all costs. Maintaining a consistent pace is generally more effective than rushing and repeatedly losing your rhythm. If you're struggling against Jules, consider lowering the game audio temporarily and concentrating entirely on the button sequence.
Warning
Completing Wavering Heart alone doesn't unlock the trophy. You must also defeat Jay and Jules. The Pro challenge can be particularly unforgiving. A single mistake may cost several repetitions, making recovery difficult. You can retry every challenge without penalty, and the trophy doesn't require you to play the story on Hard difficulty. Tifa can punch through military machinery with her bare hands, but Jules has somehow turned a gym exercise into one of Midgar's toughest boss fights.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yofyi4AyLj0&list=PLRr5L69yg_kGqObw3P8-RPxJGflhOoZxF&index=12&pp=iAQB
Trophy: Sultan of Squat
Complete all squat challenges.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete all three squat challenges at the Wall Market gym during Chapter 9, The Town That Never Sleeps. First, accept the Burning Thighs sidequest from Jules at the gym. You'll compete against Ronnie in the Trainee squat challenge as part of the sidequest. Follow the displayed button sequence, pressing Triangle, Circle, Cross, and Square in the correct rhythm as Cloud moves through each squat. After winning the introductory challenge and completing the sidequest, speak with Jay to begin the Amateur challenge. Defeat Jay, then challenge Jules to the Pro competition. During each challenge, maintain the correct button sequence without rushing. As Cloud completes consecutive squats, the button prompts gradually disappear and his movement becomes faster. In the later challenges, you'll occasionally need to press a prompted button repeatedly when Cloud becomes fatigued. Complete all three difficulty levels and defeat Jules to unlock Sultan of Squat.
Tip
Focus on rhythm rather than speed during the opening repetitions. Pressing buttons too quickly or too slowly causes Cloud to fall and wastes valuable time. As the prompts disappear, watch Cloud's movements to judge when to press the next button. Once you've established a consistent rhythm, gradually increase your speed. You can retry the challenges as many times as necessary.
Warning
Completing Burning Thighs alone isn't enough. You must also defeat Jay and Jules in the Amateur and Pro challenges. The squat minigame has no connection to the game's Hard difficulty, so you can complete every challenge during your first playthrough. Don't rush the button sequence. A single fall during the Pro challenge can make catching Jules considerably harder. Cloud can swing the Buster Sword like it weighs nothing, but a few rounds of squats apparently push him to his absolute limit. Jules isn't impressed.

Trophy: Whack-a-Box Wunderkind
Complete all Hard difficulty Whack-a-Box challenges.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete the Hard difficulty Whack-a-Box challenge in Chapter 14, In Search of Hope. Return to the children's secret hideout in the Sector 5 Slums, where you previously played Whack-a-Box during the Chapter 8 sidequest A Verified Hero. Speak with the child running the minigame and select the Hard challenge. Your objective is to reach at least 30,000 points before the timer expires. As with the Normal challenge, yellow boxes award points, blue boxes provide points and ATB, and red boxes extend your time. The Hard challenge features a more demanding layout, making efficient movement especially important. At the beginning, check the surrounding area carefully. Two time-extension boxes are positioned behind your starting location and are easy to overlook. Use Cloud's sweeping attacks against groups of smaller boxes and Triple Slash to break through large 1,500-point obstacles. Prioritize routes leading toward red time-extension boxes, destroying only the large obstacles necessary to advance. Once you finish the challenge with at least 30,000 points, Whack-a-Box Wunderkind unlocks.
Tip
Triple Slash is extremely effective for clearing large boxes quickly. Make sure Cloud has mastered the ability from the Iron Blade before attempting the challenge. Avoid spending too much time destroying optional boxes that aren't blocking your route. Focus on gaining extra seconds first, then collect points from clusters of smaller boxes along your path. You can repeat the minigame as many times as needed.
Warning
The Hard difficulty refers to the minigame itself, not the game's Hard Mode. You can earn this trophy while playing Chapter 14 on Easy or Normal. Crate Annihilator, earned from the Normal challenge in Chapter 8, is a separate trophy. You must reach the required score in the Hard challenge to earn Whack-a-Box Wunderkind. Cloud's greatest enemy isn't Sephiroth. It's a stack of cardboard boxes with a countdown timer.

Trophy: Bonds of Friendship
Free a bound ally.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Free a party member who has been bound by an enemy during battle. Certain enemies in Final Fantasy VII Remake can grab, restrain, or otherwise immobilize one of your characters. When this happens, the affected character becomes unable to act until the enemy releases them or another party member intervenes. One of the earliest opportunities is the Scorpion Sentinel boss fight in Chapter 1. During the encounter, the Scorpion Sentinel may grab Cloud or Barret with one of its attacks. When a character becomes restrained, you'll see a Bound status notification. Immediately switch to the other party member using Up or Down on the directional pad. Attack the enemy holding your teammate until it releases them. Bonds of Friendship unlocks once you successfully free the restrained character.
Tip
Don't worry if you miss this opportunity against the Scorpion Sentinel. Several later enemies can also restrain party members, so you'll have plenty of chances throughout the story. When someone becomes bound, prioritize attacking the responsible enemy instead of continuing with your previous target. Switching characters frequently is also a valuable habit for managing ATB and avoiding unnecessary damage.
Warning
The restrained character must be freed by another party member's intervention. Simply waiting for the enemy to release them may not satisfy the trophy requirement. You don't need to defeat the enemy afterward to earn the trophy. Cloud may claim he works alone, but even an ex-SOLDIER occasionally needs someone to pry him out of a giant robot's claws.
Trophy: Broken Dreams
Complete Chapter 13.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 13, A Broken World. Following the destruction of the Sector 7 plate, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret search the devastated slums for survivors. Follow the story objectives through the damaged neighborhoods and return to areas affected by the collapse. You'll eventually discover an underground Shinra research facility beneath the ruins. Explore the laboratory, defeat its security systems and experimental creatures, and progress through the story until Barret becomes separated from Cloud and Tifa. During this section, control Barret and use his ranged attacks to clear obstacles and eliminate enemies from a distance. The chapter's main boss is the Failed Experiment, a large creature supported by smaller enemies. Use Barret's ranged attacks to target vulnerable areas and switch between available characters as the fight progresses. Eliminate smaller creatures when they interfere with your attacks, and keep your party healed. Defeat the Failed Experiment and continue through the remaining story events to finish Chapter 13. Broken Dreams unlocks automatically.
Tip
Barret's ranged combat is particularly useful throughout the underground facility. Build his ATB with regular attacks and Overcharge, then use Maximum Fury or other powerful abilities against tougher enemies. Before leaving the chapter, check vending machines for music discs and visit any available shops for weapons you haven't purchased.
Warning
Broken Dreams is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. The laboratory contains several dangerous encounters, so avoid wasting all your MP on ordinary enemies. If you're replaying Chapter 13 on Hard difficulty, remember that items are disabled. Equip Healing, Revival, and Prayer Materia to maintain your party without relying entirely on MP. Cloud and the others are trying to save their friends, while Shinra has somehow found enough spare budget to build a secret monster laboratory beneath the neighborhood. Priorities.
Trophy: Destiny's Crossroads
Complete Chapter 18.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 18, Destiny's Crossroads. This is the final chapter of Final Fantasy VII Remake and begins with Cloud and the party escaping Shinra Headquarters. During the opening motorcycle sequence, defeat the pursuing Shinra forces and survive the battle against the Motor Ball. After reaching the end of the highway, continue through the story to confront the Whisper Harbinger and its accompanying enemies. Use your strongest abilities to pressure the Whispers, maintain your party's health, and take advantage of stagger opportunities. The final encounter is against Sephiroth. Use Cloud's Punisher Mode and Counterstance to respond to melee attacks, avoid Sephiroth's stronger abilities, and use Limit Breaks when you have a clear opening. Defeat Sephiroth and finish the concluding story events to complete Chapter 18 and unlock Destiny's Crossroads.
Tip
Equip Healing, Revival, and HP Up Materia before the final encounters. Magnify linked with Healing is especially helpful for keeping your entire party alive. Save your strongest abilities and Limit Breaks for important stagger windows. Completing Chapter 18 also unlocks Chapter Select and Hard difficulty, allowing you to begin working toward Hardened Veteran.
Warning
This is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. Completing Chapter 18 on Easy, Normal, or Classic difficulty unlocks Hard Mode, but you'll still need to complete every chapter on Hard to earn Hardened Veteran. During your Hard Mode replay, conserve MP throughout the final encounters because items are disabled and MP recovery is limited. Cloud's first assignment was supposed to be a straightforward reactor job. Eighteen chapters later, he's fighting destiny itself. That contract definitely needs renegotiating.
Trophy: Emerging from Chaos
Complete Chapter 17.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 17, Deliverance from Chaos. After reuniting with Aerith, the party must escape Hojo's laboratory and make its way through Shinra Headquarters. Follow the main story objectives through the research facility, switching between separate groups of characters as the chapter progresses. You'll face numerous experimental creatures, mechanical enemies, and difficult combat encounters while navigating the laboratory's interconnected rooms. Eventually, Cloud confronts Rufus Shinra in a challenging one-on-one boss battle. Use Punisher Mode and Counterstance to punish Rufus's attacks when appropriate. Avoid attacking recklessly while he's guarding, and exploit the brief openings created when he reloads. After defeating Rufus, continue through the story as the remaining party members face the Arsenal, a heavily armored mechanical boss. Use Barret's ranged attacks and Aerith's magic to damage the Arsenal while taking cover from its powerful ranged attacks. Defeat the Arsenal and complete the remaining story events to finish Chapter 17. Emerging from Chaos unlocks automatically.
Tip
After completing the story once, replay Chapter 17 to access the expanded Shinra Combat Simulator in Hojo's laboratory. This simulator contains the Malboro encounter for That's the Smell and the Pride and Joy Prototype challenge for Ultimate Weapon. Completing Pride and Joy awards the Götterdämmerung accessory, which is extremely useful during the remaining Hard Mode chapters.
Warning
Emerging from Chaos is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. The expanded combat challenges aren't available during your initial story playthrough. They unlock after completing the game and gaining access to Chapter Select. On Hard difficulty, conserve MP throughout Hojo's laboratory. You'll need healing resources for Rufus, the Arsenal, and the chapter's other difficult encounters. Shinra has an entire headquarters filled with security systems, experimental monsters, and elite soldiers. Cloud's response is to walk straight through the front door and keep going. Subtlety was never part of the contract.
Trophy: Escape Artist
Complete Chapter 2.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 2, Fateful Encounters. After escaping the reactor, Cloud must navigate the streets of Midgar while Shinra security forces search for AVALANCHE. Follow the main story objectives through the city, dealing with enemy patrols and navigating the streets toward the evacuation point. During the chapter, you'll encounter Aerith for the first time and experience several important story events. Continue following the route toward the train station until you're confronted by Shinra troops and the Huntsman, a heavily shielded enemy. Use Cloud's Punisher Mode and counterattacks to pressure melee opponents. When facing shielded enemies, attack from favorable angles and use abilities to build their stagger gauges. Defeat the Huntsman and the remaining security forces, then continue toward the train. Escape Artist unlocks automatically after Cloud boards the train and Chapter 2 concludes.
Tip
Practice guarding and counterattacking while using Punisher Mode. Learning these mechanics early will help enormously during your eventual Hard Mode playthrough. Look around for useful items and Materia as you move through the city, but don't worry about missing anything permanently. Chapter Select becomes available after completing the story.
Warning
Escape Artist is awarded through mandatory story progression and cannot be missed. You don't need to defeat every optional enemy or meet any special combat conditions. Cloud has barely finished his first job, and Shinra has already turned his commute into a citywide manhunt. Welcome to Midgar.
Trophy: Lights Out
Complete Chapter 6.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 6, Light the Way. Cloud, Tifa, and Barret must navigate the elevated maintenance platforms surrounding Mako Reactor 5. Your main objective is to restore power to the cargo platform by shutting down three enormous Sun Lamps. Follow the walkways, operate the machinery, and defeat the mechanical enemies guarding the area. Pay attention to your surroundings as you travel between platforms. Some paths lead to useful Materia and equipment that are easy to overlook. After disabling all three Sun Lamps, return to the main cargo platform and activate the elevator to continue toward the reactor. Proceed through the remaining story objectives and meet Biggs to complete Chapter 6. Lights Out unlocks automatically.
Tip
Before taking the main cargo elevator, complete the optional Discovery objective behind the ventilation fans. Use the smaller elevator west of the main platform, activate the control panel, and defeat the enemies within 60 seconds to access the Chocobo & Moogle Summon Materia. Collecting it unlocks Cleanup Crew and provides another summon for your collection.
Warning
Lights Out is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. However, leaving the chapter without collecting Chocobo & Moogle means you'll need to return through Chapter Select after completing the story. Make sure you've explored the optional ventilation area before departing. Cloud has defeated countless Shinra soldiers, but apparently the real challenge is convincing three oversized light bulbs to turn off.
Trophy: Materia for Beginners
Level up an orb of materia.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Level up any Materia orb for the first time. Materia are magical orbs that grant characters additional spells, abilities, and statistical bonuses when equipped in their weapons or armor. Most Materia gain Ability Points, or AP, whenever you defeat enemies while the Materia is equipped. Accumulating enough AP increases the Materia's level, unlocking stronger spells or improving its effects. To earn this trophy, open the Materia & Equipment menu and equip a Materia orb that can level up. Healing, Fire, Ice, and Lightning Materia are all suitable choices. Continue fighting enemies with the Materia equipped until it gains enough AP to reach its next level. Materia for Beginners unlocks automatically when the first Materia levels up. You don't need to cast spells or actively use the Materia during combat. Having it equipped while earning AP is sufficient.
Tip
Equip Materia across your entire active party so several orbs gain AP simultaneously. Begin leveling Healing, Revival, HP Up, MP Up, and other useful Materia early. Strong Materia become particularly important during Hard Mode, where items cannot be used. After completing the story, you'll earn triple AP, making postgame battles an excellent opportunity to finish leveling your Materia.
Warning
Not every Materia can gain levels. Choose an orb with an AP progression bar and additional levels available. Materia that have already reached their maximum level won't help unlock this trophy. You only need to level up one Materia once, not master it completely. Mastering multiple types becomes important later for Chadley's Battle Intel Reports. In Midgar, carrying magical rocks is apparently a perfectly normal way to become stronger. Forget protein shakes; Cloud just needs more glowing marbles.
Trophy: Mercenary Endeavors
Complete Chapter 3.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 3, Home Sweet Slum. After escaping Shinra's forces, Cloud arrives in the Sector 7 Slums and reunites with Tifa. Follow the main story objectives to meet the residents, visit Seventh Heaven, and begin taking mercenary jobs around the neighborhood. You'll be introduced to Chadley, who provides Assess Materia and unlocks Battle Intel Reports. These reports become important for several later trophies, so begin working on them early. Continue the main story until Cloud confronts a group of troublemakers known as the Hoodlums. Defeat them, then progress through the remaining story events. Mercenary Endeavors unlocks automatically after completing Chapter 3.
Tip
Chapter 3 contains six sidequests. Complete all six during your first playthrough to work toward Best in the Business and unlock Tifa's Alone at Last discovery event. During that event, choose Sporty or Exotic for Tifa's outfit if you're following the Platinum Roadmap's recommended bridal dress order. You can also earn Heavenly Dart Player at Seventh Heaven and begin collecting music discs for Disc Jockey.
Warning
Mercenary Endeavors cannot be missed, but the choices you make during Chapter 3 affect Tifa's bridal outfit later in Chapter 9. For Dressed to the Nines, finish Chapter 3 after selecting your preferred outfit so the choice is preserved when using Chapter Select. Cloud came to the slums looking for work. Within a few hours, he's finding lost cats and collecting payments from neighbors. Mercenary life isn't quite what SOLDIER recruitment posters promised.
Trophy: Never the Bride
Complete Chapter 9.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 9, The Town That Never Sleeps. Cloud and Aerith travel to Wall Market to find Tifa and gain access to Don Corneo's mansion. Follow the main story objectives through the Collapsed Expressway, solve the robotic-arm puzzles, and explore Wall Market. You'll eventually enter the Corneo Colosseum, where Cloud and Aerith must win a series of battles culminating in the Hell House boss fight. Hell House changes its elemental affinities throughout the battle. Use Assess to identify its current weakness and attack with the appropriate magic rather than relying entirely on physical damage. After winning the tournament, continue the story through Madame M's preparations and the Honeybee Inn sequence. Once Cloud's disguise is complete, proceed to Don Corneo's mansion and finish the remaining story events. Never the Bride unlocks automatically after completing Chapter 9.
Tip
Chapter 9 contains several important Platinum objectives, including Sultan of Squat, Dancing Queen, Returning Champion, and bridal outfit progress for Dressed to the Nines. During your first playthrough, follow the quest path involving The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body. The former is required for The Johnny Experience. Immediately after defeating Hell House, return to the Colosseum and complete Aerith's available solo challenge before progressing too far into the story. This is important for unlocking the Pride and Joy Prototype challenge later.
Warning
Never the Bride cannot be missed, but Chapter 9 contains mutually exclusive sidequests. You'll need Chapter Select to complete the alternate quest path for Best in the Business. Make a manual save before the Honeybee Inn dance. Earning Dancing Queen requires a strong performance, and failing means replaying the sequence. Remember that Cloud's bridal outfit depends on which Chapter 9 sidequests you complete. Cloud has survived military operations, giant robots, and collapsing infrastructure. Now he must conquer Wall Market's most terrifying challenge: looking fabulous under pressure.
Trophy: Night on the Town
Complete Chapter 4.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 4, Mad Dash. Chapter 4 begins with Cloud joining Jessie, Biggs, and Wedge on a motorcycle mission through Midgar. During the opening sequence, defeat pursuing Shinra troops and survive the motorcycle battle against Roche. After reaching the residential district, follow Jessie and complete the mission objectives while fighting Shinra security forces. You'll eventually face Roche again, this time in a traditional combat encounter. Use Cloud's Punisher Mode to counter his melee attacks and pressure him whenever he leaves himself vulnerable. Return to the Sector 7 Slums and continue through the remaining story events, including the encounter with the mysterious Spectres. After completing the chapter's final objectives and departing for the next mission, Night on the Town unlocks automatically.
Tip
The motorcycle sequence is your opportunity to earn Biker Boy. Finish with minimal damage to receive Jessie's highest praise. Playing on Easy difficulty makes that challenge considerably more manageable. If you fail, you can retry Chapter 4 through Chapter Select after completing the story. Use the Roche duel to practice blocking, counterattacking, and switching between Cloud's combat modes. These skills become particularly valuable on Hard difficulty.
Warning
Night on the Town is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. Biker Boy is a separate trophy with a performance requirement. Simply surviving the motorcycle sequence isn't enough to earn it. Jessie's idea of a relaxing evening involves high-speed motorcycle combat, breaking into a Shinra facility, and fighting a dramatic swordsman. At least nobody can accuse her of planning a boring date.
Trophy: No Appointment Needed
Complete Chapter 16.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 16, The Belly of the Beast. Cloud, Tifa, and Barret finally reach Shinra Headquarters to rescue Aerith. Begin by fighting through the building's parking garage, defeating Shinra security officers and mechanical enemies. Once inside, progress through the lobby and upper floors while following the main story objectives. During Tifa's section in the lobby, you'll need to navigate an environmental puzzle to reach the reception area. Continue exploring Shinra Headquarters, gathering information, and locating the route to Hojo's laboratory. Eventually, you'll encounter Specimen H0512, a powerful experimental creature supported by smaller enemies. Focus on its vulnerable appendages to build pressure, eliminate supporting enemies when necessary, and use your strongest abilities during stagger opportunities. Defeat Specimen H0512 and complete the remaining story events to finish Chapter 16. No Appointment Needed unlocks automatically.
Tip
Chapter 16 contains several important collectibles. During Tifa's lobby sequence, look for a purple treasure chest containing her Purple Pain weapon. Instead of immediately climbing the ladder, explore the nearby monkey bars to reach it. You can also obtain Barret's EKG Cannon from Hart by paying him 10,000 gil after speaking with Mayor Domino. Both weapons are required for Weapons Expert.
Warning
No Appointment Needed cannot be missed, but Purple Pain is easily overlooked during the lobby sequence. You can revisit Chapter 16 through Chapter Select after completing the story, although collecting the weapon now avoids unnecessary repetition. Purple Pain also teaches True Strike, one of Tifa's most useful abilities for earning Staggering Feat. Cloud's rescue plan involves entering Shinra Headquarters without an appointment, fighting the security department, and wandering through corporate offices. Somehow, it's still more efficient than calling reception.
Trophy: Onetime Gig
Complete Chapter 1.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 1, No. 1 Reactor. The game begins with Cloud joining AVALANCHE on a mission to destroy one of Shinra's Mako Reactors. Follow Barret and the other AVALANCHE members through the reactor while defeating security officers, guard dogs, and mechanical enemies. Use Cloud's Punisher Mode against close-range opponents and switch to Barret when attacking distant targets. At the reactor's core, you'll face the Scorpion Sentinel, the chapter's main boss. Use Barret's Thunder magic to exploit its lightning weakness, take cover when it prepares its powerful laser attack, and target vulnerable parts when opportunities arise. After defeating the boss, plant the explosive and escape the reactor before the countdown expires. Onetime Gig unlocks automatically after completing Chapter 1.
Tip
Use this chapter to practice switching characters, building ATB, and exploiting enemy weaknesses. You can also earn Warming Up, Weakened Resolve, Bonds of Friendship, and Staggering Start during the opening mission.
Warning
Onetime Gig is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. You don't need to complete any optional challenges or defeat the Scorpion Sentinel on a particular difficulty. Cloud's first mercenary assignment involves fighting a giant robot and outrunning an exploding reactor. That hourly rate suddenly seems negotiable.
Trophy: Paranormal Investigator
Complete Chapter 11.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 11, Haunted. Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith must cross the abandoned Train Graveyard to reach the Sector 7 support pillar. Follow the story objectives while exploring the derelict railway cars, activating switches, and moving trains to create new pathways. The area contains ghostly enemies that can be difficult to attack when they become temporarily immune to physical damage. Use magic and Assess to identify effective strategies. During the chapter, you'll encounter the Ghoul boss. Its physical and ghostly forms have different vulnerabilities, so adjust your attacks based on its current state. Later, you'll face Eligor, a dangerous enemy that attacks from a flying chariot. Use Ice magic to exploit its weakness and attack whenever it becomes vulnerable. Be prepared to deal with Reflect during the battle, as it can interfere with magic-based healing. Defeat Eligor and complete the remaining story objectives to finish Chapter 11. Paranormal Investigator unlocks automatically.
Tip
Equip Steal Materia before fighting Eligor. Aerith's Bladed Staff can only be obtained by stealing it from this boss. You'll need the weapon and its unique ability, Lustrous Shield, for Weapons Expert. Keep attempting Steal until you successfully obtain the weapon, then defeat Eligor normally. If you don't have Steal Materia yet, obtain it from Chadley after completing the required Battle Intel Report.
Warning
Paranormal Investigator cannot be missed, but Aerith's Bladed Staff is easily overlooked because it isn't found in a treasure chest or ordinary shop. You can return through Chapter Select after completing the story, but doing so requires replaying much of Chapter 11. Confirm that you've successfully stolen the Bladed Staff before defeating Eligor. Ghosts, haunted trains, and a flying chariot boss. At this point, Cloud should really ask whether his mercenary contract covers supernatural hazards.
Trophy: Picking Up the Pieces
Complete Chapter 14.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 14, In Search of Hope. Cloud, Tifa, and Barret regroup after the events in Sector 7 and begin preparing to rescue Aerith from Shinra Headquarters. Chapter 14 offers one of the largest opportunities for optional exploration and sidequests in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Follow the main story until you regain access to the Sector 5 Slums, Sector 6 Slums, and Wall Market. Complete the available sidequests, gather useful equipment, and prepare your party before continuing toward Shinra Headquarters. Eventually, Leslie will guide the party into the sewers to recover an important item. Progress through the tunnels and defeat Abzu for a second time. Use Fire magic, powerful abilities, and effective stagger management to overcome the encounter. After escaping the sewers, return to the surface and proceed toward the wall marked with Avalanche graffiti. Climb the wall to complete Chapter 14 and unlock Picking Up the Pieces.
Tip
Complete all nine Chapter 14 sidequests during your first playthrough. This is important for Best in the Business and provides the safest route to Divine Gratitude. Before climbing the wall, collect the Letter from the Guardian Angel from the ground near the final objective. Picking it up unlocks Divine Gratitude and rewards an extremely useful Elemental Materia. Chapter 14 also contains Whack-a-Box Wunderkind and Peeress of Pull-Ups. Complete both minigame challenges before moving on.
Warning
Picking Up the Pieces cannot be missed, but climbing the wall ends your opportunity to explore Chapter 14 during that playthrough. The game provides a point-of-no-return warning before you leave. Treat it seriously and finish your available sidequests, minigames, and collectible hunting first. You can return through Chapter Select after completing the story, but that means repeating portions of the chapter. The world is falling apart, Aerith has been kidnapped, and Cloud still has time to help people find missing chocobos. A true professional never abandons his side hustle.
Trophy: Plan E
Complete Chapter 5.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 5, Dogged Pursuit. Cloud, Tifa, and Barret begin their next mission aboard a train heading toward Mako Reactor 5. After Shinra's security systems identify the group, you'll be forced to escape onto the railway tracks and continue toward the reactor on foot. Follow the route through the maintenance tunnels while fighting Shinra soldiers, mechanical enemies, and security systems. Pay attention to Stamp graffiti and environmental clues that help guide you through the underground passages. Near the end of the chapter, you'll encounter the Crab Warden, a large mechanical boss guarding the railway. Use Lightning magic against its mechanical components and target its legs to pressure and stagger it. When it exposes additional weaponry, adjust your positioning to avoid its attacks while continuing to exploit its weakness. Defeat the Crab Warden and proceed toward Mako Reactor 5 to complete Chapter 5. Plan E unlocks automatically.
Tip
Keep Lightning Materia equipped on at least one character. Many mechanical enemies throughout Midgar are vulnerable to lightning damage. Barret's ranged attacks are useful against difficult-to-reach targets, while Tifa excels at building pressure and increasing damage during stagger windows. Look for vending machines containing music discs as you progress through the tunnels.
Warning
Plan E is story-related and cannot be missed. You don't need to complete any special objectives or defeat the Crab Warden on a particular difficulty. However, learning its attack patterns now will help when you return for the mandatory Hard Mode playthrough. Shinra's train security system has one flaw: detecting Cloud just means he gets to fight his way through an entirely different section of the city. Excellent security, questionable results.
Trophy: Reunited
Complete Chapter 8.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 8, Budding Bodyguard. After the events at Mako Reactor 5, Cloud awakens inside the Sector 5 church and meets Aerith. Follow the story objectives to escape the church, avoid Shinra's pursuit, and escort Aerith through the Sector 5 Slums. You'll eventually arrive at the neighborhood surrounding the Leaf House, where several optional sidequests become available. Continue helping Aerith and progressing through the chapter until you're ready to return to her house. Along the way, you'll face Reno and later Rude. Use Cloud's Punisher Mode to counter melee attacks and switch characters when an enemy begins focusing its attention on your current party member. After completing the remaining story events and leaving Aerith's house, Chapter 8 concludes. Reunited unlocks automatically.
Tip
Complete all six Chapter 8 sidequests during your first playthrough. This earns progress toward Best in the Business and determines Aerith's most elaborate bridal outfit for Dressed to the Nines. The Kids on Patrol sidequest unlocks A Verified Hero, which introduces Whack-a-Box and allows you to earn Crate Annihilator. This is also an excellent chapter for collecting music discs, meeting Chadley, and completing additional Battle Intel Reports.
Warning
Reunited cannot be missed, but the number of Chapter 8 sidequests you complete determines which outfit Aerith wears in Chapter 9. For the recommended Platinum route, complete all six quests during your first playthrough, then use Chapter Select later for the other two dress variations. Finish the chapter before jumping elsewhere if you need its sidequest choices preserved for the dress route. Cloud's newest bodyguard assignment involves protecting a flower seller from helicopters, elite Shinra operatives, and a surprisingly dangerous trip through the rooftops. He really should start charging overtime.
Trophy: Say It with Flowers
Decorate the Leaf House with a floral arrangement.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Help decorate the Leaf House with a floral arrangement during Chapter 8, Budding Bodyguard. After meeting Aerith, follow the main story objectives through the Sector 5 Slums until you reach her house. Cloud and Aerith will visit her flower garden, where Aerith asks Cloud to help choose flowers for the children at the Leaf House. Select the flowers you prefer and accompany Aerith to deliver them. Continue progressing through the chapter until the sidequests become available. Later, while traveling back toward Aerith's house, you'll pass the Leaf House again. A woman outside will stop Cloud and show him the completed flower arrangement. Say It with Flowers unlocks automatically after this interaction.
Tip
The flowers you choose affect the appearance of the arrangement, but you don't need a particular combination to earn the trophy. Simply follow the story objectives and continue through Chapter 8. While exploring the Sector 5 Slums, complete all six available sidequests to work toward Best in the Business and Aerith's bridal outfits for Dressed to the Nines.
Warning
Say It with Flowers is story-related and cannot be missed during normal progression. Delivering the flowers isn't the exact moment the trophy unlocks. Continue through the chapter until the Leaf House representative shows you the finished arrangement. You don't need to reload or repeat the flower-selection sequence if the trophy doesn't appear immediately. Cloud has fought giant robots and escaped exploding reactors, but today his most important assignment is helping Aerith arrange flowers. A surprisingly peaceful addition to his mercenary résumé.
Trophy: Sewer Survivor
Complete Chapter 10.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 10, Rough Waters. After the events at Don Corneo's mansion, Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith find themselves trapped in the sewers beneath Midgar. The chapter begins with a battle against Abzu, a powerful monster that uses physical attacks, water-based abilities, and environmental hazards. Use Fire magic to exploit Abzu's elemental weakness and concentrate your attacks whenever the boss becomes pressured. Watch for its charging attacks and take advantage of opportunities to stagger it. Keep your party healed throughout the encounter, especially when Abzu begins using stronger attacks. After defeating Abzu, navigate the sewer tunnels, operate the drainage controls, and solve the environmental puzzles needed to reopen blocked pathways. Continue following the main story objectives until the party reaches the exit. Sewer Survivor unlocks automatically after completing Chapter 10.
Tip
Equip Fire Materia before the Abzu encounter. Elemental weaknesses are especially valuable for building pressure and reducing lengthy boss fights. Aerith provides excellent ranged magic and healing support, while Tifa can build stagger quickly and exploit openings. Use this chapter to practice managing three characters simultaneously. Efficient ATB usage and character switching become essential during Hard Mode.
Warning
Sewer Survivor is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. Abzu can deal substantial damage with its charging attacks, so avoid clustering your characters when possible. On Hard difficulty, items are disabled and MP recovery is limited. Conserve resources and rely on efficient healing abilities rather than repeatedly casting expensive spells. After surviving an encounter with Don Corneo, Cloud's reward is a sewer full of monsters. Midgar's hospitality department really needs work.
Trophy: Snappy Dresser
Obtain three bridal candidate outfits.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Obtain three different bridal candidate outfits during Chapter 9. As part of the main story, Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith prepare to infiltrate Don Corneo's mansion. Each character receives a special outfit, with its appearance determined by decisions made throughout the game. Tifa's outfit depends on your Chapter 3 choices. Completing all six sidequests unlocks the Alone at Last discovery event, where you can choose Mature, Sporty, or Exotic. Aerith's outfit depends on how many sidequests you complete during Chapter 8. Cloud's outfit depends on the optional sidequest route you follow during Chapter 9. Continue through Chapter 9 until you've seen Tifa, Aerith, and Cloud wearing their respective bridal outfits. Once all three outfits have been recorded, Snappy Dresser unlocks automatically. You don't need to obtain any particular combination of outfits for this trophy.
Tip
Use your first playthrough to begin working toward Dressed to the Nines, which requires all nine possible bridal outfits. For an efficient route, choose Sporty or Exotic for Tifa in Chapter 3, complete all six Chapter 8 sidequests for Aerith's red dress, and complete The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body in Chapter 9 for Cloud's corresponding outfit. After completing the story, Chapter Select allows you to make different choices and collect the remaining outfits. Check System, then Play Log, to track how many dresses you've obtained.
Warning
Snappy Dresser is earned through mandatory story progression and cannot be missed. However, Dressed to the Nines requires all three outfit variations for each character, so careless decisions can result in additional chapter replays. When changing outfit requirements through Chapter Select, complete Chapters 3 and 8 after making the necessary choices so those decisions carry forward. Cloud has spent most of his career wearing the same dark outfit and carrying an oversized sword. Don Corneo's audition finally gives him an excuse to expand his wardrobe.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbqwYwKXc9w
Trophy: Staggering Start
Stagger an enemy.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Stagger an enemy for the first time. Every staggerable enemy has a stagger gauge displayed beneath its health bar. Attacking an enemy gradually fills this gauge, but exploiting elemental weaknesses and using certain abilities can increase it much faster. Once the gauge becomes completely full, the enemy enters a staggered state, temporarily leaving it vulnerable to increased damage. You can unlock Staggering Start during the opening section of Chapter 1 by repeatedly attacking a Shinra security enemy, such as a Guard Dog. Use Cloud's normal attacks to build ATB, then perform Focused Thrust to increase the target's stagger gauge. Continue attacking until the gauge fills completely. Staggering Start unlocks immediately when the enemy becomes staggered.
Tip
Use Assess Materia, obtained in Chapter 3, to identify enemy weaknesses and learn how to pressure them effectively. When an enemy becomes Pressured, abilities such as Cloud's Focused Thrust and Tifa's Focused Strike can build stagger rapidly. Learning how to stagger enemies is essential for later bosses and the Staggering Feat trophy, which requires increasing a staggered enemy's damage multiplier to 300%.
Warning
The trophy requires a full stagger, not merely placing an enemy into the Pressured state. Very weak enemies may die before their stagger gauge fills. If that happens, choose a tougher enemy and concentrate on building stagger instead of dealing maximum damage. Staggering Start is easily earned through normal progression. Nothing says you've mastered combat quite like hitting an enemy so hard that it temporarily forgets how to fight back.
Trophy: The Collapse
Complete Chapter 12.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 12, Fight for Survival. Cloud, Tifa, and Aerith return to Sector 7 as Shinra launches its attack on the support pillar holding up the plate. Follow the main story objectives and fight your way up the pillar while dealing with Shinra soldiers, aerial enemies, and heavily armed security forces. During the climb, you'll switch between party members as the story unfolds. Continue advancing toward the top while using Barret's ranged attacks to eliminate flying enemies and Cloud's abilities to handle close-range threats. At the summit, Cloud and Tifa face Reno and Rude in a major boss encounter. Focus on pressuring one opponent at a time rather than spreading damage between both Turks. Use Punisher Mode and Counterstance to punish Reno's melee attacks, then switch targets when Rude becomes vulnerable. Defeat both bosses and complete the remaining story events to finish Chapter 12. The Collapse unlocks automatically.
Tip
Keep Lightning Materia and Healing Materia equipped, and use Assess to identify each boss's vulnerabilities. When Rude attacks from his helicopter, use Barret's ranged attacks to pressure the aircraft and create opportunities to heal. During the final confrontation, concentrate your strongest abilities on one Turk to reduce the number of enemies attacking your party.
Warning
The Collapse is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. You cannot prevent the major story events at the end of Chapter 12. Your performance during the pillar defense doesn't change the outcome or affect trophy eligibility. On Hard difficulty, conserve MP during the climb so you have enough resources for the Reno and Rude encounter. Shinra's latest business strategy involves dropping an entire city sector on its customers. Their public relations department has officially given up.
Trophy: The Pizza in the Sky
Complete Chapter 15.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 15, The Day Midgar Stood Still. After leaving the Sector 6 Slums, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret begin climbing toward Shinra Headquarters through the wreckage of the collapsed Sector 7 plate. Follow the main story objectives across damaged highways, collapsed buildings, and construction platforms. Use the grappling gun whenever prompted to reach higher areas and continue toward the Shinra Building. You'll encounter numerous Shinra security forces along the way, including flying enemies that are easier to defeat using Barret's ranged attacks. Near the end of the chapter, you'll face the Valkyrie, a powerful airborne mechanical boss. Use Lightning magic to exploit its weakness and control Barret when the boss moves beyond Cloud and Tifa's reach. Avoid its powerful ranged attacks and take advantage of opportunities to pressure and stagger it. Defeat the Valkyrie and finish the remaining story objectives to complete Chapter 15. The Pizza in the Sky unlocks automatically.
Tip
Equip Barret with Lightning Materia and use his ranged abilities against the Valkyrie. Keep your party spread out when possible to reduce the impact of large-area attacks. Inspect vending machines along the climbing route for music discs you still need for Disc Jockey.
Warning
The Pizza in the Sky is a mandatory story trophy and cannot be missed. On Hard difficulty, avoid wasting MP against ordinary enemies. Save enough resources for the Valkyrie encounter, where reliable healing and elemental damage are especially valuable. Climbing hundreds of feet through a destroyed city is difficult enough without Shinra sending a flying weapons platform to complain about trespassing.
Trophy: Trapped like Sewer Rats
Complete Chapter 7.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Complete Chapter 7, A Trap Is Sprung. After reaching Mako Reactor 5, Cloud, Tifa, and Barret must sabotage the reactor and escape before Shinra's forces overwhelm them. Progress through the facility while fighting security troops and mechanical enemies. During the chapter, you'll discover several keycards that can be used to remove components from the Airbuster, the enormous robot waiting at the end of the reactor. Removing certain components reduces the boss's available attacks or changes its combat capabilities, making the upcoming encounter easier. Continue through the reactor until you reach the security system requiring Cloud, Tifa, and Barret to operate synchronized switches. Once you've opened the main door, advance to the Airbuster encounter. Defeat the Airbuster to complete Chapter 7 and unlock Trapped like Sewer Rats.
Tip
Use the available keycards to disable Airbuster components before the fight. Reducing its Big Bomber ammunition and other dangerous capabilities can make the encounter more manageable, particularly on Hard difficulty. Lightning magic is useful against the mechanical boss, and Barret can attack when the Airbuster moves out of melee range.
Warning
This trophy is story-related and cannot be missed. Before leaving the switch puzzle area, access the optional Waste Recovery room by completing the additional synchronized switch sequences. Opening that room unlocks In Lockstep. Skipping it won't prevent story progression, but you'll need Chapter Select to return later. Shinra builds an elaborate trap, gives you the tools to dismantle its boss, and then provides several convenient terminals to help. Their security department may need a performance review.
Trophy: Warming Up
Win a battle.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Win your first battle. Warming Up is one of the earliest trophies available in Final Fantasy VII Remake. At the beginning of Chapter 1, Cloud jumps from the train and immediately encounters a group of Shinra security officers. Follow the introductory combat instructions and defeat the enemies using Cloud's normal attacks. Press Square to attack and build your ATB gauge. Once you have enough ATB, you can also use abilities such as Focused Thrust to deal additional damage. Defeat every enemy in the encounter to win the battle. Warming Up unlocks automatically after your first victory.
Tip
Use the opening battles to become familiar with Cloud's two combat modes. Press Triangle to switch between Operator Mode and Punisher Mode. Punisher Mode delivers stronger melee attacks and allows Cloud to counter many close-range attacks while guarding. Practicing these mechanics early will help with tougher enemies and bosses throughout the game.
Warning
There are no special requirements beyond winning a battle. You don't need to play on a particular difficulty, use a specific ability, or defeat the enemies within a time limit. This trophy is effectively unmissable during normal story progression. One battle completed. Approximately an entire corporation's security department still to go. Cloud is officially warmed up.
Trophy: Weakened Resolve
Exploit an enemy's weakness.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
Exploit an enemy's elemental weakness. Enemies in Final Fantasy VII Remake have different strengths and weaknesses, including vulnerabilities to Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Wind. To earn this trophy, hit an enemy with an elemental attack that matches its weakness. One of the earliest opportunities is the Scorpion Sentinel boss fight in Chapter 1. The Scorpion Sentinel is a mechanical enemy vulnerable to Lightning. During the encounter, switch to Barret and use his Thunder spell when you have sufficient ATB and MP. Successfully hitting the Scorpion Sentinel with Lightning magic exploits its weakness and unlocks Weakened Resolve. You can also earn this trophy against many other enemies throughout the game. After obtaining Assess Materia from Chadley in Chapter 3, use Assess to reveal an enemy's elemental vulnerabilities and choose the corresponding spell.
Tip
Many mechanical enemies are weak to Lightning, human enemies to Fire, and flying enemies to Wind. These are useful general patterns, but always check with Assess because exceptions exist. Exploiting elemental weaknesses also helps pressure enemies and build their stagger gauges more efficiently. Keep different elemental Materia available so your party can adapt to different encounters.
Warning
You must successfully strike an enemy with an element it is actually weak against. Casting Fire, Ice, Lightning, or Wind magic against an enemy without the corresponding weakness won't unlock the trophy. Assess isn't required for Weakened Resolve, but it makes identifying the correct element much easier. Shinra spends a fortune developing advanced combat machines, only for Barret to discover that throwing a little electricity at them works wonders. Someone should tell the engineering department.
Welcome back to Midgar, where Shinra is destroying the planet, Cloud charges suspiciously reasonable rates for mercenary work, and every problem can apparently be solved with an enormous sword. Start your first playthrough on Easy or Normal difficulty and focus on enjoying the story while completing as many side activities as possible. Hard Mode unlocks after finishing all 18 chapters, so a second run is mandatory for the Platinum. Nothing is permanently missable because Chapter Select becomes available after the story, although replaying several hours of a chapter because you forgot one item is nobody's idea of a good time. Equip Assess Materia early, scan unfamiliar enemies, experiment with weapon abilities, and begin leveling useful Materia for your eventual Hard Mode playthrough.
Your first major objective is completing the available sidequests and collecting trophy-related items. Sidequests appear in Chapters 3, 8, 9, and 14, with 26 total across the game. Only 24 can be completed in a single playthrough because Chapter 9 contains two mutually exclusive quest paths. On your first run, prioritize The Party Never Stops and A Dynamite Body, alongside Burning Thighs, because The Party Never Stops contributes to The Johnny Experience. Collect music discs from shops, vending machines, jukeboxes, and NPCs, and obtain every weapon you encounter. Each weapon has a unique ability that must reach 100% proficiency for Weapons Expert. Keep using newly acquired abilities in battle rather than permanently sticking with Cloud's Buster Sword just because it looks fantastic.
Plan your bridal outfits from the beginning to minimize repeated chapters. In Chapter 3, complete all six sidequests and choose either Sporty or Exotic during Tifa's Alone at Last discovery event. In Chapter 8, complete all six sidequests to obtain Aerith's red dress. In Chapter 9, complete the Johnny-related quest route to earn Cloud's corresponding outfit. This gives you the first three of nine dresses for Dressed to the Nines. Also tackle chapter-specific trophies whenever they appear, including Heavenly Dart Player in Chapter 3, Biker Boy in Chapter 4, Cleanup Crew in Chapter 6, In Lockstep in Chapter 7, and the various squatting, dancing, and colosseum challenges in Chapter 9. Yes, saving Midgar requires you to become a champion darts player, dancer, and amateur bodybuilder. Cloud's résumé is getting ridiculous.
Continue through Chapters 10–18 while collecting weapons, music discs, and combat resources. Chapter 14 is particularly important because it contains several sidequests and optional activities. Complete all available quests during your first playthrough, including Tomboy Bandit for Johnny's storyline and Wavering Heart for the pull-up challenge. Finish the Hard Whack-a-Box minigame, complete the pull-up competitions, and collect the Letter from the Guardian Angel near the end of the chapter for Divine Gratitude. Don't confuse the Hard Whack-a-Box challenge with the actual Hard story difficulty; the minigame can be completed on your first playthrough. Before passing Chapter 14's point of no return, verify that you've finished every available sidequest and collected the letter.
As you progress, work through Chadley's Battle Intel Reports and unlock additional Summon Materia. There are 20 reports in total, covering enemy assessments, elemental weaknesses, stagger mechanics, weapon abilities, Materia mastery, and VR battles. These eventually lead to Bahamut and the Intelligence Agent trophy. Keep Healing, Revival, HP Up, MP Up, Prayer, and Barrier Materia equipped and leveling whenever practical. Obtain Magnify Materia during the Chapter 9 robotic-arm puzzles and pair it with Healing for efficient party-wide recovery. Also look for the Pedometer Materia in Chapter 14, which transforms into AP Up after walking 5,000 steps. These preparations become extremely valuable when Hard Mode removes your ability to use items.
After completing Chapter 18, unlock Chapter Select and begin preparing your characters for the second playthrough. Postgame chapters reward double EXP and triple AP, making this the ideal time to reach level 50 and master the 12 Magic Materia types needed for Chadley's reports. Repeat colosseum battles in Chapter 14 to earn experience and AP efficiently. You can also revisit Chapter 9 to complete The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack, the alternate sidequests needed for Best in the Business. However, you can save that Chapter 9 quest route for your Hard playthrough if you're following the dress plan below. Remember to check the Play Log for cumulative progress rather than relying only on the active chapter's quest list. Shinra may control the city, but the real villain is completing paperwork twice.
Begin your second full playthrough by selecting chapters on Hard difficulty through Chapter Select. Your levels, weapons, Materia, and equipment carry over, but enemies are significantly stronger, items cannot be used, and benches restore HP without restoring MP. Prioritize efficient healing through Prayer, Chakra, and Magnify linked with Healing Materia. Equip Revival Materia across your party, improve HP and MP using stat-boosting Materia, and exploit enemy weaknesses with Assess. Use Cloud's Counterstance against aggressive melee bosses and conserve MP for difficult encounters. Completing Hard chapters awards manuscripts that improve weapon upgrades, so your characters will gradually become stronger. Finish each chapter to register its Hard completion for Hardened Veteran.
For the second set of dresses, use your Hard playthrough to make different choices. In Chapter 3, complete all sidequests and select whichever Tifa outfit you didn't choose originally: Sporty or Exotic. In Chapter 8, complete between three and five sidequests for Aerith's middle-tier pink dress. In Chapter 9, take the alternate quest path involving The Price of Thievery and Shears' Counterattack to obtain Cloud's corresponding outfit. This also completes the remaining sidequests for Best in the Business if you've already finished the other 24. You should now have six of nine dresses recorded. Completing the required chapters matters for preserving the decisions that determine later outfits, so don't jump ahead prematurely. Don Corneo's fashion requirements somehow demand more planning than a military operation.
During your Hard playthrough, visit the expanded Shinra Combat Simulator in Chapter 17. The Monsters of Legend challenge contains Malboro, whose defeat awards That's the Smell. Equip Enemy Skill Materia and deliberately learn Bad Breath before defeating it for Master of Mimicry. You'll also need to complete the other enemy skills, all required colosseum challenges, and the remaining simulator battles to unlock Three-Person Team vs. Top Secrets. This five-round gauntlet ends with the Pride and Joy Prototype and awards Ultimate Weapon. The hardest encounter is often Bahamut, especially when Ifrit joins the battle. Prepare defensive Materia, keep a dedicated healer, and use Manawall or Reprieve to survive Megaflare. Defeating Pride and Joy rewards the Götterdämmerung accessory, which grants an immediate Limit Break and gradually regenerates the gauge. Equip it for the remaining Hard chapters and finish all 18 to unlock Hardened Veteran.
With Hard Mode completed, return to Chapters 3, 8, and 9 for the final three bridal outfits. In Chapter 3, complete only the mandatory sidequest and skip the rest so Tifa receives her default Mature outfit. In Chapter 8, complete zero to two sidequests to obtain Aerith's simplest dress. In Chapter 9, skip the optional sidequests to obtain Cloud's remaining dress. Once all three outfits have been observed and registered, Dressed to the Nines unlocks. Check System and then Play Log to verify your dress total. You don't need to repeat every intervening chapter, but make sure the choices from Chapters 3 and 8 have been saved by completing those chapters before jumping ahead. Three characters, nine outfits, and one increasingly exhausted trophy hunter.
Next, review your remaining collectibles and combat trophies. Disc Jockey requires all 31 music discs, while Weapons Expert requires mastering every weapon-specific ability across Cloud, Tifa, Barret, and Aerith. Aerith's Bladed Staff must be stolen from Eligor in Chapter 11, so remember to equip Steal Materia before that boss. Complete any remaining Battle Intel Reports for Intelligence Agent, and use Fat Chocobo in Chadley's VR simulation to reach a 300% stagger damage bonus for Staggering Feat. Tifa's Unbridled Strength, Rise and Fall, Omnistrike, and True Strike are especially effective for increasing the damage multiplier. If you're missing minigame trophies, revisit their respective chapters on a lower difficulty. The pull-up challenge against Jules may still require patience, rhythm, and several polite words directed at your controller.
Finish by checking your Play Log for any missing sidequests, Johnny incidents, music discs, dresses, or Hard Mode chapter completions. Chapter Select lets you return to specific chapters without starting a new save, and you can retain collected equipment, learned abilities, and completed battle intel while moving between them. Keep in mind that certain story choices and outfit requirements depend on finishing their chapters, so confirm your progress before switching. No DLC trophies are required for the PS4 base-game Platinum. Once you've completed every other requirement, Master of Fate unlocks. Congratulations! You've beaten Shinra, survived Hard Mode, defeated a secret mechanical superboss, and collected nine dresses. The planet is saved, although Cloud may never financially recover from all those sidequests.
