About This Policy

Gami (“Gami,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides gaming guides, trophy tracking, game progress tools, player profiles, optional PlayStation trophy syncing, and related gaming features through gami.games.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and the choices you have when using Gami.

Browsing Gami Without an Account

You do not need an account to browse Gami.

Visitors can access public content such as Trophy Guides, Roadmaps, Platinum Walkthroughs, game information, and other publicly available gaming content.

Without a Gami account, trophy progress, bookmarked games, completed games, profile information, and other account-based progress are not saved to a Gami account.

You must be 18 years of age or older to create or maintain a Gami account.

Account Information

When you create an account, we may collect information such as:

  • Email address
  • Authentication information
  • Gamer Tag
  • Display name
  • Profile image or avatar
  • Profile preferences
  • Selected featured games and profile cosmetics
  • Account creation and activity information

Gami uses Firebase Authentication to sign you in and manage your account identity. We use Cloud Firestore to store your Gami profile, preferences, cosmetics, saved games, trophy progress, and related account records. Your Gamer Tag identifies your Gami profile and appears in its profile URL when you make the profile public.

Gami does not receive your Google password when you use Google sign-in.

Saved Gaming Activity

When you are signed into a Gami account, Gami may save information associated with your gaming activity on Gami, including:

  • Trophies you manually mark as earned
  • Trophy completion progress
  • Games you bookmark
  • Games you mark as completed
  • Games currently in progress
  • Platform-specific trophy progress
  • Profile statistics
  • Featured games you select for your profile
  • Other progress or personalization settings you choose to save

This information allows your progress to remain available when you return to Gami or use another device.

You can mark supported trophies as earned manually. Manual Gami progress is stored separately from PlayStation-verified trophy information.

Optional PlayStation Sync

Gami offers optional PlayStation trophy syncing.

PlayStation Sync is optional. You can use Gami without connecting a PlayStation account.

To verify ownership, Gami asks you to place a temporary code in your PlayStation profile's public About Me field. Gami reads that field to confirm the code and your Online ID, then records the verification result. The code expires after 10 minutes; Gami stores a hash of the code in its verification record. You can remove the code from your PlayStation About Me field afterward.

When you connect and sync, Gami processes available PlayStation profile and trophy information, such as:

  • Your PlayStation Online ID
  • Your PlayStation account identifier and connection status
  • Trophy information and supported trophy-set snapshots
  • Earned trophy status
  • Trophy timestamps or related trophy metadata when available
  • Game trophy totals and PlayStation lifetime trophy totals
  • Supported game and platform information
  • Information required to associate supported PlayStation trophy sets with Gami games
  • Sync status and the time of your most recent sync

Gami stores PlayStation trophy snapshots and lifetime totals so previously verified information can continue to appear in your account. Supported data may be incomplete or delayed.

Gami does not ask for or store your PlayStation password.

Do not provide your PlayStation password to Gami.

You can disconnect PlayStation Sync. Disconnecting stops new syncs, but keeps the verified connection record and previously stored trophy snapshots and lifetime totals in your Gami account. You can reconnect the verified account later. Account deletion removes the account's stored PlayStation records as described below.

Manual Gami trophy tracking remains separate from PlayStation verification.

Technical Information

When you use Gami, the hosting, security, authentication, and infrastructure services necessary to operate the website may process technical information such as:

  • IP address
  • Browser type
  • Device type
  • Operating system
  • Request logs
  • Timestamps
  • Error and performance information

With your consent, Gami uses Google Analytics 4 on non-admin pages, including public pages and signed-in account pages, to understand visits and page usage. Analytics is off until you accept it. You can reject it or change your choice at any time through Cookie Settings in the footer.

When enabled, analytics may process page views, browser and device details, general location information, and analytics identifiers. Gami sends a generic public-profile path rather than the Gamer Tag in its page-view event. Gami does not add account IDs, email addresses, PlayStation Online IDs, or saved gaming activity as analytics event fields.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Gami may use cookies and similar technologies for essential purposes such as:

  • Keeping users signed in
  • Maintaining site functionality
  • Remembering preferences
  • Security

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may use cookies or similar identifiers to distinguish visits and sessions. Gami stores your analytics choice in your browser so it can respect that choice on later visits. Gami does not use Google Analytics on admin routes.

Gami does not currently use third-party advertising cookies. If advertising technologies are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and any required cookie controls will be updated.

Advertising

Gami does not currently display third-party advertising.

If advertising is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy and any required cookie or consent controls will be updated to explain how advertising technologies are used.

How We Use Information

We may use information collected through Gami to:

  • Create and maintain user accounts
  • Save trophy and game progress
  • Provide PlayStation trophy syncing
  • Operate player profiles
  • Sync account information across devices
  • Provide requested features
  • Improve Gami
  • Diagnose errors and performance issues
  • Prevent abuse, fraud, or unauthorized access
  • Protect users and Gami
  • Communicate important service or account information
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations

Service Providers and Disclosures

Gami may share information with service providers that help operate the service.

These may include providers used for:

  • Website hosting
  • Database services
  • Authentication
  • Cloud infrastructure
  • Website analytics
  • Transactional email delivery and optional newsletter contact management
  • Security and error monitoring

These providers may process information only as necessary to provide their services to Gami and according to their own applicable terms and privacy practices.

Gami may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to:

  • Comply with law or valid legal process
  • Protect Gami or its users
  • Investigate fraud, abuse, security incidents, or violations of our Terms
  • Complete a merger, sale, acquisition, or similar business transaction

Public Profile Information

Gami profiles are private by default. You can enable or disable your public profile in Profile Settings. When enabled, people who visit your Gamer Tag profile URL can see its public information.

The public profile can display:

  • Gamer Tag and selected avatar, border, and background
  • Gaming Since value, if provided
  • Selected featured games and completed games
  • Latest Platinums, when available
  • Displayed trophy totals and whether they come from PlayStation or Gami progress

Your email address, private bookmarks, and unpublished progress are not part of the public profile. Disabling the public profile stops Gami from serving it publicly, although information already copied or shared by others may remain outside Gami.

Account Deletion

You can delete your Gami account through account controls.

The deletion process removes your Firebase Authentication account, Firestore profile and saved progress, and related PlayStation records. It retires your public profile handles and removes Gami's email delivery and preference records. Limited information may be retained where needed for security, fraud prevention, legal, or technical reasons.

If your email address has a Resend contact record for the optional monthly update, Gami marks that contact unsubscribed and removes it from the monthly Segment. If provider cleanup fails, Gami records a pending cleanup and retries it. This does not itself delete all records that Resend may hold, such as email delivery records.

Some information may remain temporarily in backups before being deleted through normal backup rotation.

Deleting your Gami account does not delete information held independently by third-party services such as PlayStation or Google.

Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to:

  • Provide Gami
  • Maintain your account
  • Preserve saved progress
  • Meet legal obligations
  • Resolve disputes
  • Prevent abuse or fraud
  • Maintain security
  • Enforce our agreements

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and why it was collected.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards intended to protect information handled by Gami.

However, no website, database, network, or online service can guarantee absolute security.

Users are responsible for protecting access to their own account and devices.

Age Requirements

Gami's public gaming content may be viewed without creating an account.

Gami accounts are intended only for users who are 18 years of age or older.

By creating a Gami account, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old.

If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we may suspend or delete the account and associated information as appropriate.

Third-Party Services

Gami may interact with or link to third-party services including PlayStation, YouTube, Google, and other platforms.

Those services operate independently from Gami and have their own terms and privacy policies.

Gami is not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party services.

PlayStation and related names, trademarks, and services belong to their respective owners. Gami is not affiliated with Sony Interactive Entertainment unless expressly stated otherwise.

Embedded Content

Gami may embed content from third-party services, including videos.

Embedded content may allow those providers to receive information about your interaction with their services according to their own privacy policies.

Email Communications

After you create a profile, Gami sends a transactional “Welcome to Gami” email through Resend. This welcome email is separate from optional marketing email.

You can separately opt in to the monthly Gami update when creating your profile or later in Profile Settings. Gami stores your choice as an email preference in Firestore and syncs your email address and subscription status with a Resend contact and monthly Segment. The monthly update is not currently being sent; this opt-in and contact-list infrastructure is in place for future sends.

You can turn off the monthly update in Profile Settings or use an unsubscribe link in a future monthly email. Turning it off marks the Resend contact unsubscribed and removes it from the monthly Segment. A verified Resend unsubscribe webhook also updates your Gami email preference to off. Provider synchronization can be pending and retried if a request fails.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on the features available and where you live, you may be able to:

  • Access account information
  • Update profile information
  • Disconnect PlayStation Sync
  • Turn your public profile on or off
  • Change your optional monthly email preference
  • Change saved preferences
  • Delete your Gami account
  • Request information about personal data associated with your account

Additional rights may apply under the laws where you live.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Gami may update this Privacy Policy as the service changes.

When material changes are made, Gami may provide notice through the website, account interface, email, or another appropriate method.

The effective date at the top of this policy will indicate when the latest version became effective.
