Trophy: Handfull of pockets

Fully upgrade the equipment

Type: Silver

Category: Missable

Unlock Details

Fully upgrade all of Amicia's Equipment in A Plague Tale: Innocence. You'll gain access to equipment upgrades near the end of Chapter 3. From that point onward, you'll need to collect crafting materials scattered throughout the game to improve Amicia's equipment. Your first priority should be upgrading your Pockets. Increasing your carrying capacity allows you to hold more resources, which is essential for purchasing the later upgrades. Some upgrades require as many as 16 of a particular material, so you'll need at least Level 2 Pockets to carry enough resources. To fully upgrade your Equipment, you'll need the following materials: Tools — 9 Cord — 12 Leather — 28 Sulphur — 31 Alcohol — 33 Saltpeter — 34 Fabric — 39 Fabric and Leather are particularly valuable, so avoid wasting them on unnecessary ammunition whenever possible. Upgrade Strategy The safest approach is to focus on completing your Equipment upgrades during one playthrough while leaving most Sling upgrades for later. Begin collecting crafting materials as soon as upgrades become available near the end of Chapter 3. Upgrade your Pockets first to increase your maximum carrying capacity. Search every area thoroughly for Tools, Fabric, Leather, and other crafting resources. Prioritize Equipment upgrades instead of dividing your materials between Equipment and Sling. Continue purchasing upgrades until every Equipment upgrade is complete. Once your Equipment is fully upgraded, the Handfull of pockets trophy will unlock. It's possible to fully upgrade both Equipment and Sling during a single playthrough, but you'll need to be extremely careful with material collection and spending. If you finish the story without fully upgrading both, you can replay from approximately Chapter 9 onward and concentrate on the remaining upgrade path.

Tip

Prioritize Pockets before anything else. Some later upgrades require more materials than your starting inventory can hold, making increased carrying capacity essential. Fabric and Leather should be treated like treasure. Collect every piece you find and avoid spending them on ammunition unless necessary for progression. There is also an optional crafting glitch described under the Not a toy anymore trophy that may allow you to unlock upgrades without collecting all their required materials. Its reliability depends on the game version.

Warning

This trophy is missable during a single playthrough because crafting materials are limited. Spending too many resources on ammunition or Sling upgrades can leave you unable to complete all Equipment upgrades without replaying chapters. Amicia might be fighting for her life in plague-ravaged France, but apparently the real challenge is inventory management. Turns out the most powerful weapon in the game isn't a sling. It's having pockets big enough to carry everything.

To fully upgrade your Equipment, you'll need the following materials:

Tools — 9

Cord — 12

Leather — 28

Sulphur — 31

Alcohol — 33

Saltpeter — 34

Fabric — 39

Fabric and Leather are particularly valuable, so avoid wasting them on unnecessary ammunition whenever possible.

Upgrade Strategy

The safest approach is to focus on completing your Equipment upgrades during one playthrough while leaving most Sling upgrades for later.

Trophy: Not a toy anymore

Fully upgrade the sling

Type: Silver

Category: Missable

Unlock Details

Fully upgrade Amicia's Sling by collecting the required crafting materials and purchasing every Sling upgrade. You'll unlock the ability to craft equipment upgrades near the end of Chapter 3. From this point onward, search every area thoroughly for materials, as you'll need quite a few to finish upgrading your Sling. Your first priority should be upgrading your Pockets. This increases your carrying capacity, allowing you to collect more materials without leaving valuable resources behind. To fully upgrade the Sling, you'll need the following materials: Tools — 6 Fabric — 10 Leather — 10 Saltpeter — 17 Leather — 23 Alcohol — 26 Cord — 37 Note: The supplied material breakdown lists Leather twice. Double-check the requirements in your upgrade menu before planning your materials. Fabric and Leather are particularly valuable, so avoid wasting them on unnecessary ammunition when you're working toward this trophy. Once you've purchased every Sling upgrade, the Not a toy anymore trophy will unlock. Upgrade Strategy The safest approach is to concentrate on one upgrade path during your first playthrough. After upgrading your Pockets, focus your remaining resources on the Sling rather than splitting everything between Sling and Equipment upgrades. It is possible to fully upgrade both paths in one playthrough with careful material management, but there's little room for wasted resources. If you finish the story without completing both upgrade paths, you can replay from approximately Chapter 9 onward and concentrate on whichever upgrades you're missing. Optional Materials Glitch If you're struggling to gather enough materials, there's also a reported glitch that allows you to purchase upgrades while crafting ammunition. The supplied guide reports that this method works on its latest tested version, although compatibility with future updates isn't guaranteed. Here's how to perform it: Reach Chapter 10, exit to the main menu, and restart Chapter 10 specifically through Chapter Select. When the chapter title appears, press and hold the Touch Pad to open the equipment menu. Keep holding it as the chapter begins. If Amicia finishes speaking and you can move while the menu remains open, the glitch has activated correctly. Hold R1 to open the ammunition crafting menu. You can now release the Touch Pad. Use the left stick to highlight an upgrade you've already purchased. Use the right stick to select an ammunition type you can craft. Begin crafting the ammunition. Before the crafting animation finishes, move the left stick to highlight an upgrade you haven't purchased. If performed correctly, the unpurchased upgrade should unlock. Repeat the process for any remaining upgrades. Keep in mind that the glitch can still consume materials you currently possess that are required for an upgrade.

Tip

Upgrade your Pockets early, thoroughly search each area, and prioritize completing the Sling before investing heavily in other upgrade paths. If you're trying to unlock both Not a toy anymore and Handfull of pockets in a single playthrough, be especially careful with Fabric and Leather.

Warning

This trophy is missable during a single playthrough because crafting materials are limited. You can recover by replaying chapters and collecting resources again, but careless spending may require replaying a substantial portion of the game. The optional crafting glitch is an alternative, not a guaranteed solution on every game version. Amicia starts her journey with a simple sling and eventually turns it into a surprisingly impressive weapon. Considering she's fighting armored soldiers with a glorified piece of string and some rocks, she deserves every upgrade she can get.

Trophy: Big sister

Find all the gifts for the orphans

Type: Gold

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

Find all 11 Gifts scattered throughout A Plague Tale: Innocence. Gifts are special collectibles intended for different characters throughout Amicia and Hugo's journey. Unlike Curiosities, which reveal historical details, Gifts are more personal items that help bring a little happiness to the group. Once collected, your Gifts will appear in a display case in the central room of the Château during Chapters 8 and 15. There are 11 Gifts to collect across the story. Here are all their locations: CHAPTER 1 1. Duck Whistle After entering the de Rune estate, look to your right for the stables. Enter the last stable and climb the ladder inside. You'll find the Duck Whistle sitting on a table at the top. CHAPTER 2 2. Amulets & Talismans Near the beginning of the chapter, you'll encounter your first group of buildings. Look for a small dock just to the right of the first building. The Amulets & Talismans are resting on the dock. CHAPTER 3 3. Rosary Inside the church, head toward the altar. Look on the right side of the altar near the blockade to find the Rosary. CHAPTER 4 4. Diary of an Alchemist During the orchard section where Hugo wants to play hide-and-seek, head toward the lakeshore. Look for a wooden boat on the right side of the area. The Diary of an Alchemist is nearby. CHAPTER 5 5. Ballastella Progress until you reach the section where Lucas operates a swinging brazier. After allowing Hugo to collect a stick for you, return toward Lucas and turn around. Look to the left for a fire pit. Light your stick, walk over to the fire pit, and ignite it. The Ballastella is sitting beside the fire pit. CHAPTER 6 6. Knucklebones Near the beginning of the chapter, you'll sneak past several guards. Shortly after distracting the second guard, enter a tent containing bottles scattered across the ground. Exit through the opposite side of the tent and immediately look left. The Knucklebones are sitting on a table. Be quick, as the nearby guard can turn around and spot you. CHAPTER 7 7. Vinegar After seeing the Château for the first time, climb the first set of stairs. At the top, turn left and continue toward a nearby house. Ask Melie to pick the lock on the door, then enter the building. The Vinegar is sitting on a table inside. CHAPTER 8 8. Alchemical Crucible After completing the sequence with Lucas in the laboratory, begin following Hugo. Head back toward the area where the chapter began and look in the grass near the broken stairs on the left. You'll find the Alchemical Crucible there. CHAPTER 9 9. Chessboard Near the end of the chapter, you'll reach the area outside the university's main entrance. Look toward the right side of the area, where two guards are stationed. Deal with both guards, then enter the nearby room through its archway entrance. The Chessboard is inside. CHAPTER 10 10. Reading Stone Progress until you reach the section where you distract a guard, allowing Rodric to perform his second stealth kill. Afterward, search the corner of the room for a table beside a chest. The Reading Stone is sitting on the table. CHAPTER 12 11. Calamus During the section where Lucas operates a beam of light to help you advance along the road, look for a small house opposite the light beam. You'll need to use Odoris and Ignifer to safely enter the house. Once inside, collect the Calamus to complete your Gift collection and unlock the Big sister trophy.

Tip

Collect Gifts as you progress through the story rather than leaving them all for cleanup. If you miss one, you can return using Chapter Select, and the collectible will save immediately after being picked up. During Chapter 4, complete Hugo's hide-and-seek activity for the Found! trophy before collecting the Diary of an Alchemist.

Warning

There are two Gifts that require extra attention: Chapter 6 — Knucklebones: Grab the collectible quickly after leaving the tent, before the nearby guard turns around and spots you. Chapter 12 — Calamus: Use Odoris and Ignifer to access the house. If you accidentally light the fire before completing the necessary steps, restart the checkpoint and try again. Eleven Gifts collected while surviving one of the most miserable adventures imaginable. Between running from soldiers, fighting off rats, and keeping Hugo alive, Amicia still finds time to pick up presents for everyone. Someone really needs to get this girl a World's Best Big Sister mug. Although knowing her luck, it would probably be full of rats.

Trophy: Botanist

Find all the flowers

Type: Gold

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

Find all 13 flowers scattered throughout A Plague Tale: Innocence. Flowers are special collectibles associated with Hugo's Herbarium. Whenever you discover one, it gets added to your collection, and Amicia wears a flower in her hair for the remainder of that chapter. They don't provide gameplay upgrades, but they contribute to your in-game Codex and are required for this trophy. There are 13 flowers spread across Chapters 3–16. Chapters 1, 2, and 6 do not contain any flowers. Here are all 13 flower locations: 1. Carnations — Chapter 3 Found in the churchyard. Hugo will approach the flowers and initiate the collection. 2. Aquilegia — Chapter 4 Head behind Laurentius's house and follow the right side around until you reach a tree. The flower is nearby. 3. Gladiolus — Chapter 5 As you approach the aqueduct, Hugo will run ahead. Instead of following him, turn left and travel uphill. Continue back toward the river to find the flower. 4. Hawthorn — Chapter 7 After passing the mill, you'll enter an abandoned village. Stay along the right side and enter the last house on the right. The flower is inside. 5. St. John's Wort — Chapter 8 After the cutscene where necklaces are hung on tree branches, look for Hugo kneeling beside the flower. 6. Lavender — Chapter 9 Right at the beginning of the chapter, look along the left side of the path. The flower is tucked behind a tree and fallen trunk. 7. Daisy — Chapter 10 Progress until you reach the first room containing rats. After using the lights to release the rats and eliminate the guards, enter the room the rats came from. The Daisy is inside. 8. Rhododendron — Chapter 11 After passing through the corridor and entering the courtyard, climb down the ladder behind Rodric. Instead of following him toward the symbol on the ground, head right to find the flower. 9. Cinquefoil — Chapter 12 Immediately after leaving the house, turn left and follow the path around to find the flower. 10. Daffodil — Chapter 13 After the vision sequence, you'll reunite with Hugo. Once you've freed him, walk a few steps past the carriage and look for an opening between the trees on the right. The flower is illuminated by sunlight, and Hugo will approach it. 11. Black Nightshade — Chapter 14 Found in the garden. From the entrance, head toward the back-right corner and search between the hedges. 12. Rockfoils — Chapter 15 Near the beginning of the chapter, go through the door closest to Lucas and immediately turn right to find the flower. 13. Christmas Rose — Chapter 16 During the sequence where Rodric is attempting to break down a door, guards will arrive and attack. Defeat the guards, then enter through the gate they came from. Follow the pathway to the end and look near the grass to find the flower. Once you've collected all 13 flowers, the Botanist trophy will unlock.

Tip

Use Chapter Select to collect any flowers you missed during your initial playthrough. Collectibles save immediately when picked up, so you don't need to finish the chapter afterward.

Warning

During Chapter 7, collect the Hawthorn before progressing too far through the abandoned village, as moving forward can trigger a cutscene. In Chapter 16, remember to explore the gate the guards came through before continuing with Rodric. The Christmas Rose is easy to overlook during the action. Thirteen flowers collected while surviving a deadly plague, murderous soldiers, and an army of rats. Amicia might not be having the best adventure, but at least she's going to have an impressive flower collection by the end of it.

Look for a dead guard carrying the collectible. 26. Inquisitor's Manual As you approach the front of the church, look for the stairs leading up to the gallows. Before stepping onto the gallows, search behind the barrels to the right of the stairs to find the Inquisitor's Manual. Once you've collected all 26 Curiosities, the Curiosities collector trophy will unlock.

Tip

Use Chapter Select to collect anything you missed during your first playthrough. Curiosities save immediately when collected, so you can leave the chapter afterward without losing your progress.

Warning

There are several Curiosities worth paying special attention to: Chapter 5 — Oliphant: Collect it before entering the building on the right, as you cannot backtrack afterward. Chapter 13 — Knight Figurine: Enter the adjoining room before approaching Hugo. Chapter 16 — Inquisitor's Manual: Collect it before walking onto the gallows. Missing these isn't permanent because Chapter Select is available, but remembering them now can save you an unnecessary replay. Twenty-six historical artifacts collected while avoiding soldiers, plague victims, and enough rats to populate an entire country. Amicia may have started this journey trying to save her brother, but she's finishing it with enough antiques to open her own museum.

Find and collect 6 flowers throughout A Plague Tale: Innocence. Flowers are collectibles that begin appearing in Chapter 3. Hugo enjoys finding these little treasures, and whenever you collect one, Amicia wears a flower in her hair for the remainder of the chapter. There are 13 flowers in total, but you only need 6 for this trophy. The first 6 flowers can be found in these locations: Chapter 3 — Carnations: Found in the churchyard. Hugo will approach the flowers and introduce you to collecting them. Chapter 4 — Aquilegia: Behind Laurentius's house, near a tree. Follow the right side of the house around to find it. Chapter 5 — Gladiolus: When approaching the aqueduct, Hugo will run ahead. Instead of following him, turn left and head uphill toward the river. Chapter 7 — Hawthorn: After passing the mill, you'll enter an abandoned village. Stay to the right and enter the last house on the right. Chapter 8 — St. John's Wort: After the cutscene involving necklaces being hung on tree branches, look for Hugo kneeling beside the flower. Chapter 9 — Lavender: At the beginning of the chapter, look behind a tree and fallen trunk on the left side of the path. Collect any 6 flowers to unlock the Herbalist trophy.

Tip

You'll eventually need all 13 flowers for the Botanist trophy, so collect every flower you encounter rather than stopping at six. If you miss one, Chapter Select allows you to return and collect it without replaying the entire game. In a world filled with murderous soldiers and endless swarms of rats, Hugo somehow still finds time to appreciate flowers. Honestly, the kid has his priorities figured out better than most adults.

Enter into the 5 alchemist carts

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

Enter all 5 Alchemist Carts scattered throughout A Plague Tale: Innocence. Alchemist Carts are hidden supply locations containing valuable crafting materials. They're especially useful if you're trying to fully upgrade both Amicia's Sling and Equipment during a single playthrough. There are 5 Alchemist Carts to discover, and some require you to clear rats using alchemical ammunition before you can enter. Here are all 5 locations: CHAPTER 7 1. Alchemist Cart 1 During the section where Lucas teaches you how to craft Luminosa, the first Alchemist Cart will be directly in front of you. Approach the cart and enter it to register your first discovery. CHAPTER 9 2. Alchemist Cart 2 After crossing the wooden bridge covered with rats, you'll encounter two nearby guards. Defeat or otherwise deal with both guards, then head left and jump over the wall. You'll discover rats blocking the path to the cart. Use Luminosa to eliminate them, then enter the Alchemist Cart. CHAPTER 10 3. Alchemist Cart 3 Once you leave the university building and reach the outdoor university grounds, head toward the far-right corner of the area. The cart is located to the right of the second guard you encounter. Use Luminosa to clear the rats blocking your path, then approach and enter the cart. CHAPTER 12 4. Alchemist Cart 4 After leaving the house and running through the courtyard, you'll approach a section where Lucas operates a cart equipped with a brazier. Before asking Lucas to operate the cart, look behind you for a distant beam emitter. Use Ignifer to ignite the emitter, then use Luminosa to eliminate the rats blocking the route. Follow the cleared path and enter the Alchemist Cart. CHAPTER 16 5. Alchemist Cart 5 Near the beginning of the chapter, Rodric will eliminate the first enemy you encounter. Afterward, look to your right for a wooden fence with a white cross beside it. Follow the path behind the fence to the end of the road to discover the final Alchemist Cart. Once you've entered all 5 Alchemist Carts, the Resource sharing trophy will unlock.

Tip

Make sure to collect the crafting materials inside each cart before leaving. These locations contain valuable resources that can make earning Not a toy anymore and Handfull of pockets considerably easier. You can return through Chapter Select if you miss a cart, but finding them during your first playthrough means fewer trips through rat-infested France. Five carts full of crafting supplies, and somehow Amicia still never has enough room in her pockets. Medieval inventory management really is the true final boss.

Craft 100 ammunitions

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Craft a total of 100 ammunition throughout A Plague Tale: Innocence. As you progress through the story, Amicia learns to craft different types of alchemical ammunition used for combat, stealth, and solving environmental puzzles. There are five ammunition types you can craft: Ignifer Somnum Devorantis Odoris Extinguish To unlock the trophy, simply craft ammunition until you've created 100 pieces in total. You don't need to craft 100 of each type. Your progress counts across the different ammunition types, so you can make whichever ones are most useful during your adventure. You'll likely earn this trophy naturally while playing through the story, especially if you're regularly crafting ammunition to deal with guards, rats, and environmental obstacles. If you haven't crafted 100 ammunition by the end of the game, use Chapter Select to replay later chapters and gather additional materials.

Tip

Focus on crafting ammunition that uses common materials whenever possible. Fabric and Leather are among the rarest crafting resources, and you'll need plenty of both for the Not a toy anymore and Handfull of pockets trophies. Avoid wasting these valuable materials on unnecessary ammunition until you've completed your important upgrades.

Warning

Be careful not to spend too much Fabric or Leather while working toward this trophy. Crafting 100 ammunition is relatively easy, but running out of rare materials can make fully upgrading your Sling and Equipment significantly more difficult. Amicia starts the game throwing rocks and eventually becomes a one-person medieval chemistry department. One hundred pieces of ammunition later, she's practically qualified to open her own alchemy shop. Assuming the rats don't eat the customers first.

Trophy: Captain Sidekick

Stay with the captain

Type: Silver

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Stay ahead of Captain Nicholas and enter the dungeon hallway before he locks the door during Chapter 14, "Blood Ties." This is one of the trickiest miscellaneous trophies in A Plague Tale: Innocence because it requires careful timing and stealth. During this chapter, you'll control Hugo as he sneaks through the Inquisition's cathedral. About halfway through, you'll witness a cutscene involving Grand Inquisitor Vitalis, the Archbishop, and Captain Nicholas. After the cutscene, your objective is to follow Captain Nicholas toward the dungeon. However, for this trophy, you'll need to get through a particular door before he does. Here's exactly what to do: 1. Follow Captain Nicholas: After the cutscene, stay close behind him as he makes his way through the cathedral. Avoid being spotted by guards. 2. Reach the courtyard: Eventually, you'll enter a courtyard where Hugo says, "I can see the sky." This is your main landmark for the trophy. 3. Watch Nicholas turn right: The captain will head right and briefly stop to speak with a guard. This gives you a small window to get ahead of him. 4. Take the left route: Instead of following Nicholas, continue along the left side of the courtyard. Your goal is to reach the doorway at the opposite end before he does. 5. Sneak beneath the hallway: Move underneath the hallway and carefully avoid the guard stationed near the exit. 6. Enter the correct doorway: Once you've escaped the courtyard, do not turn left and climb the stairs. Instead, continue straight through the doorway that Nicholas will eventually use. 7. Hide beneath the table: After entering the hallway, immediately look to your right for a wooden table. Crawl underneath it and remain hidden. 8. Wait for Nicholas: Stay beneath the table until Captain Nicholas enters the hallway and locks the door behind him. If you're safely hiding inside when he closes the door, the Captain Sidekick trophy will unlock.

Tip

The most important moment is when Nicholas stops to speak with the guard in the courtyard. Use that opportunity to move ahead of him. Remember that your objective isn't simply to follow the captain closely. You must get through the door before Nicholas reaches it, then hide and wait for him.

Warning

If Captain Nicholas reaches and locks the door before you enter, you'll miss the trophy during that attempt. Be especially careful not to turn left up the stairs after leaving the courtyard. You need to continue straight into the hallway where Nicholas will eventually lock the door. If you make a mistake, restart the checkpoint and try again. It may take a few attempts to learn the correct route and timing. Hugo has spent most of the game being told to stay close to his sister. Now he's sneaking through a heavily guarded cathedral, racing an Inquisition captain, and hiding under furniture. Someone really needs to reconsider this kid's extracurricular activities.

Trophy: Feeding the hungry

Find a lunch for Hugo

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Find an apple for Hugo during Chapter 2, "The Strangers." While exploring the village, you'll eventually encounter several doors marked with white crosses. These markings indicate that people inside the buildings are suffering from the plague. Once you reach these doors, you're very close to the apple tree. Progress through Chapter 2 until you find the doors marked with white crosses. Look to the right for a narrow alleyway. Head down the alley and look for an apple tree on your left. Approach the tree and pick an apple for Hugo. The Feeding the hungry trophy unlocks once you've collected the apple.

Tip

Keep an eye out for the white crosses on the doors. They're your main landmark for locating the alleyway and apple tree.

Warning

This is an optional interaction, so make sure to grab the apple before continuing through the village. If you miss it, you can return using Chapter Select. With soldiers hunting them and a deadly plague spreading across France, Hugo still needs his lunch. At least this time, Amicia doesn't have to fight an entire army just to get him a snack.

Play hide-and-seek

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Find Hugo during the hide-and-seek game in Chapter 4, "The Apprentice." While traveling toward Laurentius's Farm, you'll reach an orchard where Hugo decides it's the perfect time for a game of hide-and-seek. Apparently, being chased by soldiers and surrounded by plague-infested countryside isn't enough excitement for the little guy. Here's how to find him: Progress through Chapter 4 until Hugo runs off to hide in the orchard. Stay near the central path and look toward the left side of the orchard. Hugo will be hiding behind the sixth row of trees, close to the central path. Keep your distance and carefully sneak toward his hiding spot. Once the Triangle interaction prompt appears, press Triangle to surprise him. The Found! trophy unlocks once you've successfully caught Hugo during the game.

Tip

Move slowly and approach Hugo from behind. Avoid getting too close before the interaction prompt appears, as you need to sneak up on him successfully.

Warning

If you head in the wrong direction, the hide-and-seek activity can end, causing Amicia to tell Hugo off and preventing you from earning the trophy during that attempt. If this happens, restart the checkpoint before leaving the orchard and try again. For once, Hugo gets to hide somewhere without an army of angry soldiers looking for him. Unfortunately, his big sister is apparently just as determined to hunt him down.

Trophy: Merciful

Save the dying

Type: Silver

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Save both wounded soldiers from the rats outside the de Rune estate during Chapter 12, "All That Remains." During this chapter, Amicia and Lucas return toward the estate. After clearing a section of road using two lanterns, you'll encounter two wounded Inquisition soldiers surrounded by rats. Your objective is to get through the main gate without allowing the rats to kill either soldier. The key to this trophy is using Odoris to lure the rats away while moving between safe areas. Here's how to save both soldiers: Progress through Chapter 12 until you've cleared the road using the two lanterns. As you approach the estate, look for the first wounded soldier sitting against a wall beside a lantern. He's easy to overlook, but you'll hear someone say, "We are not alone." Locate the second soldier on the opposite side of the Inquisition cart. Craft at least two Odoris ammunition before proceeding. Throw your first Odoris toward the rats blocking your path, drawing them away from the soldier. Quickly run toward the light beside the Inquisition cart, where the second soldier is located. From this position, throw your second Odoris behind the group of rats between you and the main gate. Once the rats move toward the Odoris, run straight toward the gate. Press Triangle to pass through the gate before the rats return. If both soldiers survive and you successfully reach the gate, the Merciful trophy will unlock.

Tip

Before attempting the final crossing, look to the left of the second soldier. You'll find an upgrade station, a chest, and additional crafting materials. This area also provides a useful checkpoint, making it a convenient place to prepare before attempting the rescue.

Warning

Both soldiers must survive. If the rats kill either of them, restart the checkpoint and try again. Make sure you have enough materials to craft two Odoris before starting the sequence. Timing matters, so don't linger once you've distracted the rats. After spending most of the game avoiding Inquisition soldiers who would happily kill her, Amicia is now saving two of them from becoming rat food. That's an impressive amount of forgiveness. Hopefully, they remember the favor before trying to arrest her again.

Trophy: More practice

Complete the aiming training

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Complete the optional sling aiming training during Chapter 1, "The de Rune Legacy." Early in the chapter, after returning to the de Rune estate, you'll have an opportunity to practice using Amicia's sling. Here's how to find and complete the training: After entering the estate, head right past the stables. Look for Theo, who will be moving hay near a cart. Theo will mention that he has prepared some targets for practice. Look to the left of Theo's cart for an archway. It's located to the right of the ladder leading toward the first Gift collectible. Walk through the archway and look to your right. You'll find several pots arranged on top of barrels. Use your sling to destroy every pot. Once you've destroyed all the practice targets, the More practice trophy will unlock.

Tip

There are piles of rocks near the targets, so you don't need to worry about running out of ammunition. Simply pick up more rocks if you miss a shot.

Warning

This is an optional activity during Chapter 1. Make sure to complete the training before continuing too far into the story. If you miss it, you can return through Chapter Select. It's the beginning of Amicia's adventure, and she's already being encouraged to throw rocks at things. Little does she know, this particular childhood hobby is about to become her most important survival skill.

Trophy: Savior

Save a soldier

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Save the trapped English soldier from a swarm of rats during Chapter 5, "The Ravens' Spoils." While crossing the battlefield, Amicia and Hugo will pass through a fallen siege tower. Inside, you'll hear an English soldier calling for help. The soldier is trapped behind a metal grate, with rats threatening to reach him. You'll need to provide a source of light to keep the rats away before they overwhelm him. Here's how to save him: Progress through Chapter 5 until you reach the fallen siege tower. Listen for the trapped soldier calling for help behind a metal grate. Pick up the nearby torch and move into the next section. Place your torch into the available holder. Look toward the right side of the trapped soldier for an extinguished torch. Equip Ignifer ammunition and use your sling to ignite the extinguished torch. Once the torch is burning, the rats will be kept away from the soldier, saving his life and unlocking the trophy.

Tip

You don't need to reach the soldier directly. Once you've placed your torch in the holder, look for the extinguished torch near his position and light it with Ignifer.

Warning

Do not carry your torch too far forward. Advancing too far can push the rats toward the trapped soldier, causing them to kill him and preventing you from earning the trophy during that attempt. Take your time, position yourself carefully, and light the soldier's torch before advancing. Considering how many soldiers have spent the game trying to kill Amicia, saving one is a surprisingly generous gesture. Hopefully, this particular fellow remembers the favor and decides to find a different career.

Trophy: The Blacksmith

Find Rodric's forge

Type: Silver

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Discover Rodric's forge during Chapter 16, "Coronation." While making your way toward the cathedral, Amicia and her companions will travel through a burning building. Shortly afterward, you'll rescue two captives near a cart. This is where you'll need to take a detour to find Rodric's forge. The main story requires you to push the cart forward, but do not push it yet. You'll want to locate the forge first. Follow these steps: 1. Reach the cart: Progress through Chapter 16 until you've escaped the burning building and rescued the two captives near the cart. 2. Find the workbench: Look for an alcove containing a workbench beside the cart. 3. Locate the alleyway: While facing the workbench, turn around. You'll notice an alleyway on your left. 4. Follow the alley: Enter the alleyway and turn right when you reach the end. 5. Find the locked gate: From this position, you should have a clear shot at the lock securing a nearby gate. 6. Listen for Rodric: As you approach the correct location, Rodric will say, "This place, I know it all too well." This confirms you're heading in the right direction. 7. Break the lock: Use Amicia's sling to destroy the lock on the gate. 8. Return to the cart: Head back toward the cart and enter through the gate you just unlocked. 9. Find the forge: Follow the road all the way to the back to discover Rodric's forge. The Blacksmith trophy unlocks once you reach the forge.

Tip

Use Rodric's dialogue as confirmation that you've found the correct route. If he mentions recognizing the place, you're heading toward the forge.

Warning

Find the forge before pushing the cart forward to continue the main story. Advancing too far may prevent you from returning to this area during your current playthrough. If you miss the opportunity, you can return through Chapter Select and replay Chapter 16. After spending an entire adventure fighting soldiers, dodging rats, and surviving medieval France's worst hospitality, it's nice to finally visit somewhere meaningful to Rodric. Of course, getting there still involves breaking locks, sneaking through alleys, and wandering around a burning city. Apparently, even a trip to the local blacksmith can't be simple in this game.

Trophy: The hard way

Enter through the main door

Type: Silver

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Enter the university through its guarded main entrance during Chapter 9, "In the Shadow of Ramparts." Near the end of the chapter, Amicia and Melie reach the university. Unfortunately, the front entrance is heavily guarded, and you'll need to eliminate the soldiers blocking your way. Normally, sneaking around would be the sensible option. But this trophy is called The hard way, so naturally, we're going straight through the front door. Here's how to unlock it: Progress through Chapter 9 until you reach the university entrance. Quickly eliminate the two soldiers positioned on the right side of the area. Turn your attention to the two shield-bearing soldiers guarding the main doors. Use Devorantis to remove their helmets, then strike their exposed heads with rocks using your sling. Once both guards have been eliminated, approach the university's main entrance. Enter through the front door to unlock the trophy. The shield-bearing guards can be troublesome because they'll use their shields to block incoming attacks. If you're having trouble defeating them directly, you can lure them back toward the previous area and allow the rats to deal with them instead.

Tip

The easiest approach is to eliminate the two soldiers on the right first, then lure the shielded guards toward the rats in the previous area. This avoids having to fight them head-on while they're blocking your attacks.

Warning

You must enter the university through the main door for this trophy. Using another entrance won't satisfy the requirement. If you miss it, you can replay Chapter 9 through Chapter Select. Amicia has spent most of the game trying to avoid soldiers, but apparently she's decided that knocking on the university's front door with a sling is the more sophisticated approach. Admissions really need to improve their security procedures.

Trophy: Tribute

Find the tomb

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

Discover the hidden tomb during Chapter 8, "Our Home." At the beginning of the chapter, Hugo will lead Amicia downstairs inside the Château. Instead of following him into Lucas's laboratory, you'll need to take a small detour. Begin Chapter 8 and follow Hugo down the stairs. When Hugo heads toward Lucas's laboratory, don't follow him inside. Continue descending the staircase instead. At the bottom, you'll discover an unnamed tomb. The Tribute trophy unlocks automatically when you reach the tomb.

Tip

This is easiest to complete right at the beginning of Chapter 8, before following Hugo into the laboratory. After everything Amicia and Hugo have been through, exploring a mysterious tomb probably isn't the strangest thing they've done this week. Still, you'd think an abandoned castle would have fewer creepy surprises.

Take your time observing guard movements and learning their patrol routes. If you get spotted and have to restart, use what you've learned to plan a safer approach. Toward the end of the chapter, you'll have opportunities to eliminate guards, making certain sections easier to navigate. The camp also contains plenty of crafting resources, so explore thoroughly and collect as much as your inventory allows. There are 3 collectibles to find: Gift 6 — Knucklebones Curiosity 11 — Pound Sterling Curiosity 12 — Declaration of War Complete the chapter to unlock the Damaged Goods trophy automatically.

Tip

Don't rush through the opening stealth sections. Watch enemy patrols, use cover, and move when the guards aren't looking. Once you're able to deal with enemies more directly, take advantage of the opportunity to explore and gather resources. These materials will be especially useful for your equipment upgrades. Amicia might be getting better at surviving, but sneaking through an enemy camp while babysitting her little brother probably wasn't on her childhood bucket list.
