As Dusk Falls Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME

Start by playing through the story naturally and getting familiar with how choices shape the lives of both families. As Dusk Falls is extremely forgiving when it comes to cleanup, so you do not need to obsess over every trophy on your first run. Make the choices you want, enjoy the drama, and let the story get messy. It probably will.

There is one important thing worth planning ahead for: Free Bird in Chapter 6. To avoid a lot of backtracking later, play Jay as passively as possible. Avoid shooting or killing anyone and generally keep him on the less violent path whenever you are given the choice.

The game’s branching structure means your first run will not show you everything, and that is completely fine. Think of this playthrough as building your main timeline rather than trying to force every trophy into one perfect run.

MID GAME

As you move through the middle chapters, continue keeping Jay on the passive route. Your choices will keep opening and closing different branches, but the generous chapter-select system means very little is permanently lost.

When you reach Chapter 5, successfully hot-wire the car. This is an important setup for the route toward Free Bird because it helps Jay avoid the alternative path involving a police chase.

Keep playing through the remaining story decisions however you like outside of the choices needed for this route. There is no need to constantly reload every conversation just to see another outcome. The cleanup system exists for exactly that reason, so enjoy your first version of events before you start rewriting history.

LATE GAME

As the story approaches Chapter 6, the choices you made with Jay become especially important. Continue avoiding unnecessary violence and make sure he leaves for Canada on his own.

Following this route allows Jay to encounter the forest ranger instead of ending up on the police-chase path. This is the route you want for Free Bird, and handling it during your first playthrough saves you from having to replay a much larger portion of the story later.

Finish all six chapters and see where your other decisions take the characters. Do not worry if plenty of trophies are still locked afterward. With a game built around branching choices, one ending is really just the beginning of your trophy cleanup.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS

After completing all six chapters, use the game’s Explore feature to go back through scenes and make different choices. This allows you to revisit branching points and pursue trophies you missed without needing to restart the entire story from scratch.

Explore is especially useful because you can replay different routes without overwriting your existing story. You can also use another save slot if you want to keep a separate timeline while experimenting with alternate choices. Basically, As Dusk Falls gives you permission to make every terrible decision you were responsible enough to avoid the first time.

Work through the remaining trophies by revisiting the relevant decision points and exploring alternate branches. Cleanup is much less intimidating than it looks because you are rarely replaying the entire game. If you lose track of which decision leads where, Ask Gami and we’ll get that family drama pointed in the right direction.
