How To Start Corhyn And Goldmask’s Quest
Brother Corhyn first appears in the Roundtable Hold shortly after you unlock access to it. He acts as an incantation vendor, but buying his spells is not required for the questline.
To progress the storyline, you eventually need to reach the Altus Plateau.
You can get there by:
- Using the Grand Lift of Dectus
- Climbing through the Ruin-Strewn Precipice
Once you arrive in Altus, speak to Corhyn again at the Roundtable Hold. He will mention searching for a scholar named Goldmask before leaving the Hold.
Find Brother Corhyn In Altus Plateau
After leaving the Hold, Brother Corhyn moves near the Altus Highway Junction Site of Grace.
Speak to him there to learn more about his search for Goldmask.
This is where the questline properly begins.
Find Goldmask
Goldmask can be found near the broken greatbridge north of the Road of Iniquity Side Path Site of Grace.
To reach him:
- Travel east around the cliffs
- Climb toward the bridge ruins
- Follow the upper path until reaching the bridge section
Goldmask himself barely speaks, which somehow only makes Corhyn admire him more.
Return to Corhyn afterward and tell him where Goldmask is located.
Reach Leyndell, Royal Capital
Progress through the main story until entering Leyndell, Royal Capital.
Inside the capital, you can find Goldmask and Brother Corhyn standing together near the western colosseum overlooking the Erdtree.
Here, they become stuck on a mysterious philosophical puzzle involving the nature of the Golden Order.
Naturally, solving the universe falls entirely on your shoulders.
Solve The Law Of Regression Puzzle
To continue the questline, defeat the golden shade version of Godfrey, First Elden Lord and reach the Erdtree Sanctuary Site of Grace.
From there:
- Climb the roots and rooftops above the sanctuary
- Reach the hanging chair containing the Golden Order Principia
- Give the prayerbook to an incantation vendor
- Purchase the Law of Regression incantation
The spell requires 37 Intelligence, so many players temporarily respec with Rennala or equip intelligence-boosting gear.
Next:
- Return to the western side of the Erdtree Sanctuary
- Ride the elevator downward
- Find the ground message mentioning regression
- Cast Law of Regression in front of the statue
The statue changes and reveals the truth:
Radagon and Marika are the same person.
Return to Goldmask and tell him what you discovered.
Reload the area afterward and both NPCs will disappear.
Mountaintops Of The Giants
After defeating Morgott, the Omen King and using the Grand Lift of Rold, continue into the Mountaintops of the Giants.
You can find Brother Corhyn and Goldmask together again on the bridge south of the Stargazers’ Ruins.
Speak with Corhyn several times here. He begins doubting Goldmask and questioning his beliefs.
Things are not exactly going great spiritually for anybody involved.
Capital Of Ash Finale
Continue through the game until completing Crumbling Farum Azula and burning the Erdtree.
This transforms the capital into Leyndell, Capital of Ash.
Return to the colosseum area where Goldmask previously stood. If every step was completed correctly, you can now obtain the Mending Rune of Perfect Order.
Reload the area afterward to also receive the Radiant Gold Mask.
Find Corhyn One Last Time
The final step is locating Brother Corhyn again.
He may appear:
- Near the large spiral spear in the Capital of Ash
- Or back near the Mountaintops of the Giants bridge
Exhaust his dialogue, reload the area, then collect:
- Corhyn’s Bell Bearing
- Corhyn’s Robe
The questline ends with Corhyn disillusioned and broken after everything he learned throughout the journey.
Classic FromSoftware optimism.
Step-by-Step
- Meet Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold
- Reach the Altus Plateau
- Find Corhyn near the Altus Highway Junction
- Locate Goldmask near the broken bridge
- Tell Corhyn where Goldmask is
- Reach Leyndell, Royal Capital
- Obtain the Golden Order Principia
- Learn Law of Regression
- Cast the spell at the regression statue
- Reveal that Radagon and Marika are the same
- Tell Goldmask the truth
- Meet them again in the Mountaintops of the Giants
- Complete Crumbling Farum Azula
- Return to the Capital of Ash
- Obtain the Mending Rune of Perfect Order
Warnings
- Missing the Law of Regression step blocks the quest from progressing.
- You need high Intelligence to cast the spell unless using stat-boosting gear or respecing.
- Progressing too far without checking NPC locations can sometimes make tracking the quest confusing.
- The final stages contain major story spoilers involving Radagon and Marika.
Rewards
- Mending Rune of Perfect Order
- Radiant Gold Mask
- Corhyn’s Bell Bearing
- Corhyn’s Robe
- Alternate ending unlock
Tips
- Visit the NPCs every time you enter a new major region to avoid losing track of progression.
- Law of Regression is one of the easiest places for players to get stuck because of the high Intelligence requirement.
- If you do not want to fully respec, combine intelligence talismans, helmets, and Great Runes to temporarily hit 37 Intelligence.
- Goldmask communicating entirely through pointing somehow becomes one of the deepest storylines in the game.

All NPC Questlines In Elden Ring
Elden Ring contains nearly 30 major NPC questlines, many of which unlock alternate endings, hidden regions, legendary rewards, Spirit Ashes, and important lore revelations.
Because the game has no quest tracker, several NPC storylines can permanently fail if you progress too far. The biggest point of no return happens after defeating the Fire Giant and activating the Forge of the Giants.
Bosses & Combat
How To Defeat Margit The Fell Omen In Elden Ring
To defeat Margit The Fell Omen in Elden Ring, you should ideally be around level 25 with a weapon upgraded to at least +3. Prioritize leveling Vigor, use Spirit Ashes like the Lone Wolves or Spirit Jellyfish, and summon Sorcerer Rogier outside the boss gate for extra pressure.
Margit is designed to punish panic rolling with delayed attacks, so wait until his weapon actually starts swinging before dodging. Bleed weapons like the Uchigatana or Reduva work extremely well and can remove huge chunks of his health quickly.
Bosses & Combat
How To Defeat Godrick The Grafted In Elden Ring
To defeat Godrick The Grafted in Elden Ring, you should be around level 35-40 with at least 20 Vigor and a weapon upgraded to +4 or higher. Use Nepheli Loux and Spirit Ashes to split his aggro while punishing his long recovery animations with jumping heavy attacks.
During Phase 1, roll into his axe swings instead of backward and jump over his earthquake shockwaves. In Phase 2, stay close during his fire breath attacks to avoid damage and punish him with free hits while he is locked into long animations.
