Far Cry 3 Classic Edition Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME
Welcome to the Rook Islands! What was supposed to be a tropical vacation has turned into a survival nightmare involving pirates, dangerous wildlife, and Vaas, a man who really should have been encouraged to attend anger management classes. You'll play as Jason Brody, an ordinary tourist who somehow goes from terrified vacationer to one-man army. Your Platinum journey requires one playthrough, and thankfully, there are no difficulty-related or permanently missable trophies.

After escaping the pirates and liberating your first outpost, you'll have the freedom to explore much of the northern island. Start activating radio towers to reveal the map, unlock free weapons, and make exploration easier. Liberate outposts as you encounter them, hunt animals for crafting materials, and begin upgrading your equipment. Prioritize larger weapon holsters and useful survival skills so you're better prepared for the increasingly chaotic adventures ahead.

Don't worry about completing everything immediately, but develop a few good habits. Tag enemies with your camera before attacking, throw rocks to distract guards, and check liberated outposts for memory cards. Try clearing at least one outpost without triggering an alarm for Unheard. Stealth also provides valuable experience toward Fully Inked, which requires unlocking every skill. Of course, you're welcome to abandon stealth occasionally. Sometimes the jungle gives you a silenced weapon, and sometimes it gives you a flamethrower.

MID GAME
As you progress through the story, Jason will become increasingly capable of surviving the island's many unpleasant surprises. Continue liberating outposts, activating radio towers, and completing side activities whenever you need a break from rescuing your friends. There are 34 outposts across both islands, and you'll eventually need to liberate all of them for Island Liberator. Each liberated outpost also provides a safe house and fast-travel location, making your remaining objectives easier to tackle.

Start working toward the collectible trophies as you explore. You'll need 60 relics out of the 120 available, all 20 Letters of the Lost, and all 20 memory cards. Purchasing collectible maps from shops will reveal their locations in areas covered by activated radio towers. These purchases also contribute toward Money to Burn, so you're essentially being rewarded for spending money to avoid searching every bush on the island. A rare moment of financial responsibility.

This is also a great time to tackle miscellaneous combat and hunting trophies. Use the flamethrower whenever practical to build toward 50 kills for Heartless Pyro, experiment with explosives for Love the Boom, and unlock Death From Above before attempting Never Saw it Coming. Complete a Path of the Hunter quest, a Supply Drop, and a WANTED Dead assignment while they're conveniently nearby. Keep earning experience and unlocking skills throughout the adventure, since some abilities remain unavailable until you've progressed further through the story.

LATE GAME
Eventually, the story will take you to the southern island, opening another region filled with outposts, collectibles, and enemies who apparently haven't heard what happened to everyone on the first island. Continue activating radio towers and clearing outposts as you explore. If you've been gathering relics, hunting wildlife, and completing optional activities along the way, you should already be making excellent progress toward Fully Inked and the remaining collection trophies.

Before finishing the story, consider tackling some of the more specialized objectives. Poker Bully requires winning a total of $1,500 at poker, which can be made easier through the Father’s Burden side mission in Thurston Town. You can also work on the long-range bow kill for Toxophilite, the Repair Tool kill for Improper Use, and the various explosive and environmental trophies. The islands offer plenty of opportunities for creative combat, although the pirates probably have a less enthusiastic opinion of your experimentation.

Continue through the final story missions and make whichever ending choice you prefer. Both endings award What a Trip, so there's no need for another playthrough. Once the credits finish, you can return to free roam across both islands and complete anything you left unfinished. Jason might finally be ready to leave the islands, but unfortunately, that Platinum isn't going to earn itself. The vacation continues, whether the travel insurance company likes it or not.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS
After completing the story, use free roam to finish your remaining collectibles, outposts, challenges, and combat trophies. Check the map for any undiscovered relics, Letters of the Lost, or memory cards, and purchase the appropriate collectible maps if necessary. Fully Inked requires all 54 skills, so continue earning experience through side missions, combat, and collectibles until every ability is unlocked. Some skills have specific prerequisites, making it worth checking their requirements rather than simply grinding experience.

If you've liberated every outpost but still need enemy-related trophies, use the Reset Outposts option in the Gameplay settings to repopulate them with enemies. This is particularly useful for Rock Always Wins, Island Paparazzi, Heartless Pyro, and other combat challenges. For Free Fall, find a sufficiently high cliff above deep water and survive a fall of more than 100 meters. Fearless or Stupid requires diving more than 60 meters underwater, and unlike most sensible diving advice, surviving isn't actually necessary for the trophy.

With no multiplayer requirements, difficulty restrictions, or permanently missable trophies, Far Cry 3 Classic Edition offers a fairly relaxed Platinum that should take approximately 20–25 hours. Once you've completed every objective, Mastered the Jungle will unlock. Congratulations! You've conquered two islands, defeated an army of pirates, survived the wildlife, and somehow become the most dangerous tourist in history. Five-star vacation experience. Would absolutely not recommend the resort.
