Far Cry New Dawn Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME

Welcome back to Hope County! Seventeen years after the nuclear apocalypse of Far Cry 5, nature has reclaimed the landscape, survivors are rebuilding their lives, and a new group of troublemakers called the Highwaymen has decided that stealing everything is a perfectly reasonable economic strategy. You play as the Captain, helping Carmina Rye and the residents of Prosperity fight back against the Highwaymen and their leaders, Mickey and Lou. Far Cry New Dawn offers a relatively straightforward Platinum, requiring one story playthrough and approximately 20 hours of gameplay. There are no difficulty-related trophies, so you can play on Easy if you prefer. However, there is one potentially missable trophy and an online co-op requirement that you should plan around from the beginning.

Your most important early objective is Honorary Scout, which requires gathering information from 10 Wiki-Bean-ia scouts. These friendly characters appear at liberated outposts and throughout the wilderness, usually with blue information markers above their heads. Speak with them whenever you see them until the trophy unlocks. This is the game's only potentially missable trophy because scouts can stop appearing after you've discovered every location or purchased all the available Cartography maps. Don't purchase those maps until you've spoken to 10 scouts. Missing this trophy can force you into another playthrough, which is an unfortunate price to pay for ignoring the local neighborhood gossip network.

As you progress through the opening story missions, begin collecting crafting materials, plants, animal skins, and perk points. Upgrade Prosperity's Expeditions facility early to improve your fast-travel options, and prioritize useful perks such as Grappling Hook, Lock Picking, additional weapon holsters, and higher-rank takedowns. Complete nearby Treasure Hunts to earn perk points and useful supplies, and recruit Guns for Hire as their missions become available. It's also worth crafting three weapons for Weaponsmith, making 10 medkits for How's it Look, Doc?, and performing takedowns whenever possible for Bring a Knife to a Gun Fight. Far Cry New Dawn rewards players who make good use of scavenged equipment, so pick up almost everything you see. Apparently, duct tape and scrap metal have become Hope County's new national currency.

MID GAME

Continue through the campaign's three acts while recruiting the specialists needed to improve Prosperity. You'll help familiar faces, discover what remains of Eden's Gate, and gradually strengthen your settlement against the Highwaymen. Prioritize upgrading the Workbench so you can craft Rank III and eventually Elite weapons, since higher-ranked enemies become significantly more dangerous later in the game. Ethanol is your main resource for settlement upgrades, and liberating outposts is one of the best ways to earn it. After capturing an outpost, you can scavenge it to collect additional Ethanol and allow the Highwaymen to reclaim it at a higher difficulty. You'll eventually need to repeat this process for every outpost, so don't worry about losing one you've already liberated.

While exploring Hope County, work on the collectible and recruitment trophies. Find all 10 hidden MP3 players for Audiophile, and begin the A Thousand Words side mission at Prosperity to recover and recreate all nine Dear Photographs for Before. You'll also need to recruit all eight Guns for Hire for Closed for Applications, including companions such as Nana, Hurk, Timber, Horatio, and several returning characters. Recruit Timber early because his ability to identify nearby animals is useful for Master Skinner, which requires collecting a skin from each of the 25 required animal types, including the four Monstrous Animals. You'll also need to catch all six fish species for You're a Catch. Some animals, particularly sharks, crocodiles, hares, and skunks, are easier to find during specific Expeditions, so keep an eye out while traveling beyond Hope County.

As you become better equipped, tackle miscellaneous combat trophies whenever suitable opportunities appear. Use smoke grenades for Poof!, eliminate shield-carrying Brawlers with saw launchers for Buzzkill, and practice shield throws for Good Job, Cap. You'll also want to defeat an Enforcer, knock an enemy's helmet off using a charged melee attack, and kill an Enforcer with a bayonet for Get to the Point. Consider attempting the bayonet trophy before completing Joseph's Secret, because the abilities unlocked afterward can make triggering a conventional bayonet finishing attack less predictable. Once you complete Joseph's Secret, you'll gain access to powerful Eden's Gift abilities, including Wrath and Leap of Faith, which are required for several additional trophies. Nothing says post-apocalyptic self-improvement quite like unlocking a supernatural double jump in the middle of a firefight.

LATE GAME

Finish the remaining story missions and defeat the Highwaymen's leadership to complete the campaign. The story-related trophies will unlock as you progress, provided you're playing solo or hosting the cooperative session when required. After the ending, you'll still be able to explore Hope County and finish your outstanding activities. Use this opportunity to upgrade all nine Prosperity facilities to their maximum levels for My Little Fortress, including Prosperity itself. Fully upgrading the Workbench allows you to craft Elite weapons, which are especially valuable for the harder challenges ahead. A powerful Elite bow, light machine gun, and reliable secondary weapon will make a noticeable difference against the heavily armored Highwaymen.

Your biggest objectives now are the Rank III outposts and Expeditions. For All Your Bases, you'll need to liberate all 10 outposts on Rank III difficulty. Each outpost must first be captured at Rank I, scavenged, captured at Rank II, scavenged again, and finally liberated at Rank III. These final versions contain tougher enemies, additional alarms, and Elite Enforcers, so arrive with upgraded weapons and enough healing supplies. While attempting your Rank III takeovers, complete Pure Ninja by liberating one Rank III outpost without being detected. Signal Point and The Island are useful options because their layouts can be easier to manage with a careful stealth approach. Disable alarms, identify enemy positions, and don't rush your attacks. A well-placed arrow is usually more effective than announcing your arrival with an entire helicopter's ammunition supply.

Next, focus on Hit the Road, which requires completing all seven unique Expeditions on Rank III difficulty. Every Expedition must be completed at Rank I and Rank II before Rank III becomes available, so you'll need at least 21 successful Expedition runs altogether. The locations include HMS MacCoubrey, Navajo Bridge, Five Stars Theme Park, Alcatraz Island, Government Plane Wreck, ISS Crash Site, and Walking Horse Nuclear Plant. Each mission involves retrieving a supply package, reaching an extraction point, and surviving until your helicopter arrives. Rank III enemies are significantly tougher, making Elite weapons, healing supplies, and strong companions extremely useful. Alcatraz Island can be particularly troublesome because of its confined spaces and aggressive enemy reinforcements. Apparently, even after the apocalypse, that prison remains an absolutely terrible vacation destination.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS

Once the campaign and Rank III activities are finished, review your remaining trophies and complete any miscellaneous challenges you've overlooked. For Anger Management, eliminate 10 enemies during a single activation of Wrath; combining Wrath with Eden's Touch can help replenish your ability meter through takedowns. Use Leap of Faith to perform an aerial takedown for Hey Father, Watch This and survive a fall of at least 30 meters for Springboard. Purchase the first level of all 30 perks for Perk-olate, then upgrade any stackable perk to its fifth tier for Stack 'em Up. You should also complete Paladin's Secret by finding Sam Fisher's outfit during the Government Plane Wreck Expedition, and take Nick Rye's wingless aircraft for an explosive little flight for Fly, You Fools! If you still need Master Skinner or You're a Catch, purchase the relevant location maps after you've safely unlocked Honorary Scout.

Don't forget Have Buddy, Will Travel, the Platinum's mandatory online co-op trophy. You'll need to complete three Expeditions with another player. New Dawn doesn't provide automatic matchmaking for this requirement, so arrange a session with a friend or another trophy hunter and invite them through the Online menu. The three Expeditions don't need to be unique or completed on a particular difficulty. Most campaign and collectible trophies are host-only, meaning the joining player shouldn't expect to earn those trophies or retain the host's story progress. For a clean Platinum run, complete your main campaign and host-only requirements in your own game, then tackle the cooperative Expeditions separately. If you still need Expedition clears for Hit the Road, you can combine the two goals by bringing your partner along for qualifying Rank III runs.

Finally, check that you've completed all collectible sets, recruited every Gun for Hire, fully upgraded Prosperity, and finished the Rank III outposts and Expeditions. You can continue free-roaming after the story, and outposts and Expeditions can be replayed, so most remaining trophies can be cleaned up without starting another campaign. Keep in mind that a few trophies have reported tracking issues, particularly Bring a Knife to a Gun Fight and Tip o' the Hat; if one doesn't unlock immediately, try additional qualifying actions before assuming your save is broken. Once all 50 other trophies have been earned, Conqueror will unlock your Platinum. Congratulations! You've rebuilt Prosperity, defeated the Highwaymen, befriended a dog and a boar, and somehow survived another trip through Hope County. Considering what happened the last time you visited, that's a pretty impressive outcome.
