Trophy: An Artist’s Eye

Complete all sumi-e paintings.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing all 18 sumi-e paintings across Ezo, with 3 tied to the story and the remaining 15 found in the open world. Each painting starts by interacting with a straw mat on the ground, then using the Touch Pad to complete the artwork. 4 in Yotei Grasslands 3 in Ishikari Plains 2 in Tokachi Range 2 in Nayoro Wilds 2 in Teshio Ridge 2 in Oshima Coast These are usually placed in scenic or quiet locations, so if something looks peaceful or intentionally framed, it is worth checking. There is no difficulty to the mechanic itself, so this is more about exploration than skill. Take your time and enjoy these moments because they are some of the most relaxing breaks in the game, and finishing them all unlocks the trophy.

Trophy: Body, Mind, and Spirit

Complete all Bamboo Strikes, Shrine Climbs, and Hot Springs.

Type: Silver

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing all 16 Hot Springs, 13 Shrine Climbs, and 15 Bamboo Strikes across the map, and this is one of the bigger exploration trophies in the game. You can make this much easier by buying maps from cartographers in villages or following the yellow bird while exploring, since it reliably leads you to these activities. 16 Hot Springs that increase your health 13 Shrine Climbs that involve platforming to a shrine 15 Bamboo Strikes that test your input timing Bamboo Strikes are simple once you get the rhythm, just stay calm and memorize the sequence instead of rushing. Shrine Climbs are more about patience, so take your time with jumps and do not panic if you slip. Hot Springs are the easiest since they just require you to interact and enjoy the moment. One thing to watch out for is the Atago Bamboo Strike where metal weapons nearby attract lightning, so clear them out first or you will keep getting interrupted. This takes a while, but if you follow birds and clear things as you explore, it feels much less like a grind.

Trophy: Child of the Mountain

Solve all Mountain Reliquary puzzles.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by solving all 5 Mountain Reliquary puzzles, each tied to a riddle that hints at how the fox statues should be positioned. Yotei Grasslands where all fox statues must face Mount Yōtei Oshima Coast where all statues again face Mount Yōtei Tokachi Range where all statues must face the central pillar Teshio Ridge where you first melt snow with fire arrows, then face all statues toward the altar Ishikari Plains where demon mask statues face away and the others face the altar Most of these follow a simple pattern once you understand the riddle, so take a second to read the clue before spinning statues randomly. If something does not activate, double check orientation because one wrong statue will block completion. These puzzles are quick once solved and feel more like a break from combat, so enjoy them instead of rushing through.

Trophy: For All Occasions

Acquire all Armor.

Type: Silver

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by collecting all 12 armor sets in the game, with three earned automatically through the story and the rest tied to side tales, activities, and a few specific requirements. The remaining armor pieces are spread across different regions and mostly come from completing named tales, so this trophy naturally overlaps with side content and cleanup. Ginji’s Guard Armor from Pride Before Tea in Oshima Coast Fundoshi from completing all Hot Springs Bounty Master Armor from the Soma the Condemned bounty in Oshima Coast Taro’s Armor purchased from Taro who appears randomly in camps, often in Tokachi Range Armor of the Undying from The Undying Samurai in Ishikari Plains Robes for Sitturaynu from The Heart of the Ainu in Nayoro Wilds Spider Lily Armor from The Spider Lily General in Tokachi Range Dragonfly Armor from The Dragonfly Armor tale in Tokachi Range Crimson Kimono from The Crimson Kimono in Teshio Ridge Most of these come from completing full questlines, so focus on finishing side tales rather than hunting armor directly. The only one that can slow you down is Taro since he appears randomly, so check camps whenever you pass through. Once you have all 12, the trophy unlocks, and by this point you will have seen most of what the game has to offer.

Trophy: Gifts for a Ghost

Collect 8 offerings left for the onryō.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by collecting 8 offerings from Onryō Gift Altars, which become available as you progress through quests and activities. Whenever you see the “Gifts Available” message on screen, fast travel to the nearest inn and select the Onryō Gift Altar as your spawn point. Interact with the altar using R2 to claim the rewards, and repeat this process until you have collected eight. These gifts build up naturally over time, so there is no need to go out of your way unless you want to clean it up early. By the time you are deep into the game, you will likely have several waiting, so just remember to actually claim them because forgetting is the only real way to miss this one.

Trophy: Guardian of Inari

Receive the Fox Mask after completing all Fox Dens.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing all 11 Fox Dens across Ezo, then finishing a final encounter at Sarufutsu Lighthouse in Teshio Ridge. Each Fox Den is a short activity where you follow a fox and complete a small shrine interaction, so none of them are difficult, just spread out across different regions. Lake View Fox Den south of Lake Shikotsu Grassy Hill Fox Den south of Golden Foothills Flowing Water Fox Den north of Tranquil Falls Clear Water Fox Den northeast of Iwor Mountains Whispering Woods Fox Den north of Shizunai Woods Warm Plains Fox Den north of Ohara Plains Blushing Forest Fox Den near Atago Rice Fields Winding River Fox Den along the Teshio River High Wall Fox Den along the Sarufutsu River Fire Fox Den near Ishikari Fork Twin Path Fox Den north of Nakagoya Spring Once all are complete, head to Sarufutsu Lighthouse and work your way through the hideout by solving the puzzle and clearing out enemies. After the fight, a short cutscene plays where you receive the Fox Mask and the trophy unlocks. This one is more about consistency than difficulty, so just knock these out as you explore instead of saving them all for the end.

Trophy: Like Mother, Like Daughter

Learn all shamisen songs.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by learning all shamisen songs, with one given automatically during the prologue and the remaining seven found through exploration, quests, and a bit of randomness. Song of Shrines from a random NPC while camping Song of the Wolf after completing 4 Wolf Dens Song of the Spirit from Master of the Shamisen in Yotei Grasslands Song of Well Being from a practice site on the west coast of Ishikari Plains Song of the Ainu from completing two related tales in Tokachi Range and Nayoro Wilds Song of Revenge by donating to a Ronin in Shizunai Woods Song of Vanity from a practice site north of Crimson Forest in Teshio Ridge The only one that can slow you down is the Song of Shrines since it depends on a random NPC appearing at camp, so if you do not get it right away, just keep setting up camp during your travels and it will show up eventually. Everything else is tied to clear objectives or locations, so focus on completing side content and exploring thoroughly. Once you have all songs learned, the trophy unlocks, and you will have a useful set of guides for tracking different activities across the map.

Trophy: Moments of Reflection

Find 30 Altars of Reflection.

Type: Silver

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by finding and praying at 30 Altars of Reflection, and there are far more than you actually need spread across every region. As you explore, clear camps, and complete side content, you will naturally come across these, especially since many are located inside Yōtei Six camps. When you find one, simply swipe down on the Touch Pad to pray and gain a skill point. This adds up quickly if you are not skipping exploration, so the best approach is to grab them as you go instead of leaving them for cleanup. By the time you are working toward other collectibles, you will likely already be close to 30, making this a very low effort trophy if you stay consistent.

Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/y0ARHtEsvKA

Trophy: Purely Decorative

Acquire 30 pieces of Vanity Gear.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks after collecting 30 pieces of Vanity Gear, and you will get most of these naturally just by playing and exploring. Vanity Gear includes weapon kits and dyes, which come from activities like bounties, Pillars of the Fallen, and merchants. A simple way to speed this up is to grab flowers whenever you see them while traveling since they act as currency for buying cosmetics. Check merchants regularly, especially at inns where characters like Ginji and Ran sell dyes, and do not forget that some camp NPCs also offer items. There are far more than 30 available in the game, so you do not need to hunt anything specific, just stay consistent and you will hit this without much effort.

Trophy: Quick Draw

Acquire all Quickfire weapons.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by collecting all five quickfire weapons, which are spread across story progression, side tales, and a bounty. Two of them, Oni’s Flame and Smoke Bombs, come naturally from completing The Oni and The Kitsune main tales, so you do not need to worry about those. The remaining three require a bit more effort, with Kunai coming from The Winter Farms tale, Metsubushi from defeating Crow Genzo in Yotei Grasslands, and the Tanzutsu from completing Guns and Consequences in Oshima Coast. Just make sure you are completing side tales and at least one bounty, and this will come together without much trouble. By the time you have all five, you will have a strong set of tools for handling fights quickly and creatively.

Trophy: Sake Flight

Collect 10 full jars of Sake.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks after collecting 10 full Sake jars, and you will find these all over the world if you take a second to actually loot areas. Check camps thoroughly, especially shelves, tables, and inside small containers because they are easy to miss if you rush through. You can also buy Sake from merchants if you want to speed things up, but honestly just playing normally and looting consistently will get this done quickly. Keep an eye on your inventory limit since you can only carry so many at once, and if you cannot pick one up, just drink one by holding Down on the D-pad to make room. This one is basically a reward for slowing down and exploring instead of sprinting past everything.

Trophy: Take Aim

Acquire all Ranged weapons.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks after acquiring all ranged weapons, which are spread between story progression, purchases, and a side tale. You will get the Tanegashima naturally through the story, while the Hankyu and Yumi bows can be purchased from Ran the Bowyer at inns. The final piece comes from completing The Bomb Maker tale, which unlocks bombs. If you are short on currency, just loot camps and pick up resources regularly because that adds up quickly. Once all four are in your inventory, the trophy pops, and you will have a solid toolkit for handling fights from a distance.

Trophy: Tools of a Warrior

Acquire all Melee weapons.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by acquiring all melee weapons, and most of them come naturally through story progression and Sensei Tales. You start with the Wolf Blade, then earn the Dual Katana and Odachi through main story missions, while the Kusarigama and Yari come from completing their respective Sensei questlines. This trophy is more about progression than effort, so just make sure you finish those side tales instead of skipping them. Each weapon is designed to counter specific enemy types, so it helps to actually use them instead of sticking to one playstyle. By the time you have them all, combat feels much smoother, and the trophy unlocks without any extra grind.

Trophy: Trickster Fox

Solve all the Nine Tails’ puzzle boxes.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by solving all 12 Nine Tails puzzle boxes, which are split between enemy camps and open world locations. Most of them are tied to camps, so clearing those areas will naturally lead you to the boxes, usually placed near Altars of Reflection or appearing after rescuing prisoners. The remaining ones are found at Kitsune Altars or hidden in specific regions like Sakura Woods, Sentinel Forest, Shipwreck Shoal, Sarobetsu Forest, and along the Teshio Coast. Sakura Woods near a fallen body after an enemy encounter Sentinel Forest Kitsune Altar between forest regions Shipwreck Shoal along the eastern coastal cliffs near a rocky arch Sarobetsu Forest near the center of the region Teshio Coast cliffside Kitsune Altar Crossroads Trading Post after clearing the camp Snow Drift Springs Hideout after solving the fox puzzle Snow Blight Hideout after solving the fox puzzle Nakajima Ice Cave Hideout after solving fox and rope puzzles Deserted Village after clearing enemies and rescuing a prisoner Soya Port camp after clearing enemies Cape Inari Hideout after lighting the correct fox lanterns Focus on clearing camps and interacting with anything tied to fox symbols, and you will find most of these without heavy searching. If something does not appear, it usually means a camp objective is incomplete, so double check the area before leaving. This one takes some time, but it is very manageable if you combine it with general exploration instead of treating it like a full scavenger hunt.

Trophy: Wolves of Ezo

Complete all the Wolf Dens.

Type: Bronze

Category: Collectible

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing all 10 Wolf Dens across Ezo, which involve following a wolf after interacting with a body, then clearing out enemies and freeing captured wolves. 2 in Yotei Grasslands south of Lake Shikotsu and west of the Nupur River 1 in Oshima Coast north of Shojin Hills 2 in Tokachi Range around Ohara Plains and near Boar’s Eye Cave 2 in Teshio Ridge east of Sarobetsu Lake and near Sentinel Forest 1 in Nayoro Wilds north of Kankan Creek 2 in Ishikari Plains near Nakagoya Spring and west of the Rumoi River Each den follows the same pattern, so once you have done one, you know what to expect. Just stay alert during the fights because enemies can overwhelm you if you rush in without a plan. These are also worth doing early since they unlock useful wolf abilities that help in combat and exploration. By the time you clear all 10, the trophy will unlock and you will have a strong companion mechanic to lean on for the rest of the game.

Grind

Trophy: Charming

Upgrade 10 charms at least once.

Type: Bronze

Category: Grind

Unlock Details

You unlock this by upgrading 10 different charms at least once, and this will come naturally if you engage with the charm system as you play. Charms are earned from tales, exploration, and various activities, but only the ones with Roman numerals can be upgraded. Open your Gear menu and check the requirements listed under each charm, which usually involve completing specific activities like visiting hot springs or finishing certain objectives. Focus on upgrading different charms instead of leveling the same one repeatedly, and you will hit 10 without much effort. By the time you are working toward full completion, you will have more than enough options, so this is more about variety than grinding.

Trophy: Like Father, Like Daughter

Fully upgrade the Wolf Blade.

Type: Bronze

Category: Grind

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks after fully upgrading the Wolf Blade at Father’s Forge in Yotei Grasslands, which you can fast travel to from the map. Interact with the forge, select the Wolf Blade, and upgrade it through all four levels once you have the required materials. You will gather most of what you need naturally by looting enemies, chests, and camps, especially metals and weapon parts from later enemies using firearms. The key here is to stay consistent with looting instead of rushing past areas, because that is what slows most players down. Once you have everything, return to the forge and upgrade it to max level, and the trophy will pop immediately. This one feels like a milestone since it powers up your main weapon for the rest of the game.

Trophy: Master Bounty Hunter

Complete all Bounties.

Type: Gold

Category: Grind

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing all 31 bounties across the map, which are picked up from bounty boards in settlements and turned in to Kojiro for new targets. Each bounty gives you a search area on the map, and from there you either track clues, speak to NPCs, or locate the target directly depending on the objective. Some targets are tied to Yōtei Six camps and can be defeated even before accepting the bounty, which still counts, so you can clean these up naturally while exploring. Accept bounties from settlement boards across all regions Search marked areas by following clues or talking to NPCs Eliminate the target and return to Kojiro for more Repeat until all 31 are completed Most of these are straightforward once you understand the pattern, so the main tip is to always grab bounties when you enter a new region instead of backtracking later. One exception is Iron Chuta, which requires a side tale to unlock, so keep an eye out for that if your list feels incomplete. This is one of the longer trophies, but if you combine it with exploration and camp clearing, it becomes much more manageable instead of feeling like a grind.

Combat

Trophy: Brush Fire

Kill an enemy by catching grass on fire.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

This trophy is often unlocked naturally during The Bomb Maker side tale in Otaru Hills when you use Scorch Bombs against raiders. The key is making sure the enemy dies from the burning grass rather than the explosion itself, which usually happens if they are already weakened. If you do not get it there, an easy backup method is using fire arrows after unlocking them through bow upgrades. Find an area with tall grass, lure enemies into it, and ignite the ground instead of aiming directly at them. Let the fire do the work and avoid finishing them off too early. This one is all about patience, so set it up properly and let the flames secure the kill for you.

Trophy: For the Living

Rid Ezo of all Yōtei Six Camps.

Type: Gold

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

You unlock this by clearing all 22 Yōtei Six camps, which are marked in red on the map once discovered. Each camp requires you to defeat all enemies, after which a short scene confirms it has been cleared. 3 camps in Yotei Grasslands 5 camps in Ishikari Plains 2 camps in Tokachi Range 7 camps in Teshio Ridge 5 camps in Oshima Coast After clearing a camp, make sure you pray at the Altar of Reflection inside it, because the camp does not count as complete until you do. This is the one detail that can cause issues if the trophy does not unlock, so double check before leaving. If you combine this with exploration, bounties, and collectibles, most of these will already be done naturally. By the time you finish all 22, the trophy unlocks and you will have fully taken control of the map.

Trophy: From the Hip

Perform a Pistol Parry during a Standoff.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

This trophy requires you to perform a pistol parry during a standoff, so the first step is unlocking the Tanzutsu by completing the Guns and Consequences tale in Oshima Coast. After that, make sure you unlock the Standoff Streak ability from the Altars of Reflection under Revenge and Attacks, or this will not work. When you trigger a standoff, hold Triangle and release it as the first enemy attacks, then quickly follow up with Square to take down the second. As the third enemy approaches, press R1 to fire the pistol and secure the kill, which triggers the trophy. The timing can feel tight at first, but once you get the rhythm down it becomes very consistent, so do not be surprised if you get it within a couple of tries.

Trophy: Sayonara

Shoulder Charge or Typhoon Kick an enemy off a cliff to their death.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

This trophy requires you to knock an enemy off a cliff using either Shoulder Charge or Typhoon Kick, so setup matters more than difficulty. First, unlock the Yari by completing The Way of the Yari to gain access to Typhoon Kick, or unlock Shoulder Charge through the Altars of Reflection under the survival tree. Once you have one of these abilities, head to any enemy camp positioned near cliffs, with areas in Teshio Ridge being some of the easiest spots. Lure an enemy close to the edge, then use your move to launch them off. Typhoon Kick works best if you charge it fully and aim carefully, while Shoulder Charge is quicker if you sprint in and catch them off guard. If the fall kills them, the trophy unlocks instantly, and if it does not, just reposition and try again because this one is more about finding the right angle than anything else.

Trophy: The Horror

Make 20 enemies collapse in fear using Onryō’s Howl.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

You unlock this by making 20 enemies collapse in fear using Onryō’s Howl, which you gain early in the story during The Old Inn. Once unlocked, activate it by pressing L3 and R3 together when your meter is full, causing nearby enemies to panic and become vulnerable to instant kills. To charge the meter, you need to defeat enemies without taking damage, so staying clean in combat is the key here. If you get hit, the meter resets, so play more cautiously than usual and focus on safe kills instead of rushing. This is cumulative across the game, so you do not need to grind it in one go, and if you use the ability whenever it is ready, the trophy will come naturally without much effort.

Trophy: The Owl’s Talon

Use a Kusarigama Assassination to kill an enemy from a distance.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

To unlock this, you need to perform a Kusarigama assassination from a distance, which requires unlocking the weapon first by completing The Way of the Kusarigama in Teshio Ridge. After that, head to the Altars of Reflection and spend two skill points on Ferocious Whirlwind and Lethal Talons under the Kusarigama tree. Once both are unlocked, find an unaware enemy and approach from a short distance until you see the Triangle and Circle prompt appear. Trigger the assassination and the trophy will unlock instantly. This works even if the Kusarigama is not actively equipped, so do not overthink it, just find an isolated enemy and enjoy how stylish this one feels when it lands.

Trophy: Two as One

Complete a successful Standoff or Assassination with a companion.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

This trophy is very easy and will likely unlock naturally as you progress through the story or side content. All you need to do is complete a standoff or assassination while a companion is present, which can be an ally during missions or a wolf during certain activities like camps or Wolf Dens. When in a standoff, hold Triangle and release it at the right moment while your companion is nearby, and the trophy will trigger. If you somehow miss it, you can make it even easier by unlocking the Wolf Standoff skill, which gives you a chance to have a wolf join automatically. Once that happens, just complete a clean standoff and you are done, so this is basically a free trophy if you are playing normally.

Trophy: You Dropped This

Disarm and kill an enemy with their own weapon.

Type: Bronze

Category: Combat

Unlock Details

To unlock this, you need to disarm an enemy and kill them using their own weapon, which starts by unlocking the Disarm Counter skill from the Altars of Reflection under the attack tree. Once you have it, enter combat and wait for an enemy to perform a yellow glowing attack, which signals the move you can counter. Hold Triangle and release at the right moment to knock the weapon out of their hands, then quickly pick it up with R2 and throw it back using Square to finish them. Timing is everything here, so stay calm and let the enemy initiate instead of rushing in. Avoid using abilities that might kill the enemy too early, and once you land it cleanly, the trophy pops and feels way more satisfying than it probably should.

Misc

Trophy: A Moment to Breathe

Get a perfect score in ku-e-shinok.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

This trophy comes from getting a perfect score in the Ku-e-shinok archery mini game at the Ainu Hunting Grounds in Yotei Grasslands. Talk to the girl to start the flashback, then follow Jubei to begin the challenge. You need to hit all 6 rings with exactly 6 arrows, so accuracy matters more than speed. The first three targets are stationary and should be free hits, but the last three are moving, which is where most runs fall apart. Aim slightly ahead of moving targets and release calmly instead of rushing your shots. If you miss, just restart and try again because there is no penalty. Turning off aim assist can actually help here since it gives you more control, and once you land all six clean shots the trophy pops immediately.

Trophy: Fireside Performance

Play a shamisen song while camping.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

This trophy is very simple and unlocks the moment you play any shamisen song while camping. When you see the camp prompt, hold Left on the D-pad while on your horse to set up camp, then choose the shamisen option and play any song. The trophy pops instantly, so there is no requirement to finish the song or do anything specific beyond starting it. You can do this at almost any point in the game, making it an easy one to grab early if you want a quick win.

Trophy: From One Ghost to Another

Acquire the blade of a legendary hero.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing the mythic tale The Storm Blade in the southwest corner of Oshima Coast near the Forgotten Shrine. Speak with Ugatsu to begin, then follow the fox into the shrine area where the path turns into a mix of light platforming and exploration. Stay on the main route and take your time with jumps because falling just slows you down, nothing tricky here if you stay patient. Once you reach the Storm Blade, the real fight begins as the Nine-Tails ambush you and steal it. Chase them down and prepare for a full combat encounter where you will need to defeat multiple enemies along with their leader. Focus on crowd control and avoid getting surrounded, then finish off the leader to reclaim the blade. After the fight, you unlock the Dance of Wrath technique, and the story moment with Jin Sakai’s mask is a nice payoff that longtime players will appreciate.

Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/vMvLZuZ2FKc

Trophy: Gift for Destruction

Help Ina fend off the Oni Raiders.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing Ina’s two side tales in Ishikari Plains, starting with The Bomb Maker in Otaru Hills and finishing with Fighting Fire with Fire near Ishikari Fork. In the first tale, Ina teaches you how to use Scorch Bombs, and you will immediately put them to use against incoming raiders. These bombs are great for crowd control, so try to group enemies before throwing them to get the most value. After clearing the fight and speaking with Ina, the second tale becomes available nearby. To start the final part, throw a Scorch Bomb onto the campfire to signal Ina, then follow her up the cliff and into a cave where you will deal with a bear before learning how to use the Blind Bomb. Once enemies attack again, use the Blind Bomb to disorient them and make the fight much easier. Clear out all enemies, then speak to Ina by the cart to finish the questline and unlock the trophy. This one is pretty forgiving, so just have fun experimenting with the bombs because they are stronger than they look.

Trophy: Good with Coins

Win a charm from playing zeni hajiki.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by winning a game of zeni hajiki at any inn, which is a simple timing based mini game once you understand how it works. Approach the gambling table, press R2 to start, and your goal is to hit coins cleanly without knocking them off the table while chaining successful shots. You need a solid streak to win, so focus more on control than power and aim carefully instead of rushing your turns. If you want an easier time, turn on accessibility settings to show where the coin will land and help with timing. If you mess up, just retry because it only takes one clean run to win a charm and unlock the trophy.

Trophy: Kunai Defender

Help Hana protect her farms.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing The Winter Farms side tale with Hana, located northwest of Teshio Ridge. After speaking with her, you will be tasked with liberating four farms from attackers, all marked on your map once the quest begins. Each location is a small combat encounter, but some enemies hide in bushes, so use your hearing ability with R3 to reveal them and avoid wasting time searching. Clear all four farms, then return to Hana to finish the tale and unlock the trophy. This is a simple cleanup style quest, but it is a good chance to farm materials and practice quick clears, so move efficiently and take advantage of stealth where possible.

Trophy: Memento

Personalize a scene in Photo Mode.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

This trophy is as easy as it gets and unlocks the moment you personalize anything in Photo Mode. Press Right on the D-pad to open Photo Mode, then adjust any setting like filters, camera angle, or lighting, and the trophy will pop instantly. You do not need to save the image or do anything fancy, just make a small change and you are done. It is a nice excuse to mess around with the visuals for a second, especially since the game looks good enough to make even random shots look great.

Trophy: Naming a Friend

Pick a name for your horse.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this during the Old Trails side tale near the Old Stables in Shikotsu Woods in Yotei Grasslands. When you arrive, the area is under attack, so clear out all of Saito’s men first, then let the story play out. You will get a short flashback where you learn how to track and call horses, and once it ends, you return to the present and are asked to choose a name for your horse. Pick any name you like or keep your current horse because it does not affect anything, and the trophy unlocks immediately. This is one of those easy wins, so just enjoy the moment because your horse ends up being your most reliable companion the whole game.

Trophy: Sitturaynu

Share a meal with huci.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by completing Huci’s two side tales in the Nayoro Wilds, starting with The Heart of the Ainu and followed by The Load We Bear. The first tale has you tracking thieves through a series of platforming sections, so take your time with movement and do not rush jumps because falling just wastes time. Huci keeps up surprisingly well, so just focus on following the path and completing the objectives. The second tale continues in the same region and involves rescuing a bear cub trapped behind rocks in a cave. Once you free it, escort it back to the village and let the story play out. The trophy unlocks during the meal scene at the end, and it is one of those slower moments that is worth soaking in after all the fighting.

Trophy: Speaking with the Land

Bow or play your shamisen at 10 special places throughout Ezo.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by bowing or playing your shamisen at 10 special locations across Ezo, which are marked by small wooden signs showing a bowing figure. These spots are not marked on the map, so you need to stay observant while exploring and interact whenever you see one. Swipe down on the Touch Pad to bow, or play your shamisen, and you will know it worked when you see a visual response like leaves blowing, birds flying, or fish jumping. These are scattered across all regions, so the easiest approach is to grab them as you explore instead of hunting them all at once. If you reach the end and are missing a few, revisit areas more carefully because they are easy to overlook if you are moving too fast.

Trophy: Spear Fishing

Spear 5 fish with the yari.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

You unlock this by catching 5 fish with the yari, and most of the work is already done for you during The Way of the Yari tale with Sensei Takahashi in Ishikari Plains. That quest gives you 4 out of the 5 fish needed, so all you have to do afterward is find any river or lake with visible fish and land one more catch. Look for fish jumping out of the water to make this easier, then time your throw carefully instead of spamming attacks. Once you land that final catch, the trophy unlocks, making this one of the quickest cleanups if you are paying attention.

Trophy: Unrivaled

Defeat Takezo the Unrivaled on the peak of Mount Yōtei.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

This trophy comes from completing the Takezo mythic tale and defeating him at the peak of Mount Yōtei. The first part has you dueling five of his followers at specific dueling trees across the map, and each one is a straightforward one on one fight if you stay patient and focus on breaking their guard before attacking. South of the Shikotsu River in Yotei Grasslands East of Mount Yōtei in Yotei Grasslands Northwest of Tokachi Range through a narrow gap South of Tomamu Marshlands in Tokachi Range Niikappu Falls in northeast Tokachi Range After defeating all five, head to the new dueling tree in southern Yotei Grasslands and interact with the campfire to fight Takezo for the first time. This fight is manageable and sets up the final tale, The Five Teachings. For the final duel at the peak of Mount Yōtei, make sure you equip all five of Takezo’s charms before interacting with the camp or he will not appear. The second fight is much tougher due to the cold draining your health, so stay aggressive, dodge often, and do not drag the fight out. Take him down quickly and the trophy will unlock, and this is one of the more satisfying duels in the game if you enjoy clean one on one fights.

Trophy: Very Persuasive

Interrogate 10 enemies.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

This trophy comes from interrogating 10 enemies and will almost certainly unlock naturally as you play. Interrogations happen during camp captures, main missions, and various side tales, so you do not need to go out of your way to farm it. Just make sure you actually trigger interrogations when the option appears instead of skipping them, and the count will build over time. By the time you are clearing camps regularly, you will probably hit this without even noticing, making it one of the easiest trophies on the list.

The Way of the Kusarigama in Owl Mountain The Path of the Kusarigama The Kusarigama’s Shame at Enomoto’s Dojo The first two tales build toward the final confrontation, so once they are done, return to the dojo where Enomoto teaches you a signature move. After that, you will set up camp and wait for his grandson to appear. When he does, defeat him along with any allies, and the questline concludes with a cutscene and the trophy. The kusarigama is great for controlling space, so use its range to keep enemies off balance during the fight.

After defending against the waves of enemies, you will face Junpei the Snatcher in a boss fight. Defeat him to finish the questline and earn the trophy. The odachi hits hard but is slower, so focus on timing your strikes and do not overcommit or you will get punished.

Trophy: Wolf Bait

Use an empty Sake jar to trigger a Wolf kill.

Type: Bronze

Category: Misc

Unlock Details

This trophy requires you to trigger a wolf kill using an empty Sake jar, which works best after unlocking the Wolf Howl and Wolf Strike Summon abilities from completing Wolf Dens. Once you have those, grab an empty Sake jar either from your inventory or by drinking one with Down on the D-pad, then throw it at an enemy using Square. This gives a chance for a wolf to appear and attack the target, and if the wolf gets the kill, the trophy unlocks. There is some randomness involved, so do not stress if it does not happen right away, just try again in a camp with multiple enemies to increase your chances. It might feel a bit silly, but it is one of those fun mechanics that works more often than you expect once everything is set up.

Story

Trophy: Inheritance

Acquire your parents’ charms from the peak of Mount Yōtei.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks when you reach the peak of Mount Yōtei and claim your parents’ charms, which ties into shrine exploration and progression across the map. As you play, you will see flashbacks hinting at this location, and once you are ready, follow the Torii gates up the mountain. The climb involves some platforming, so take your time and do not rush jumps, especially in tighter sections. When you reach the top, interact with the shrine to receive the charms and unlock the trophy. It is a simple objective, but the moment itself feels meaningful, so it is worth slowing down and taking it in when you get there.

Trophy: The Dragon

Cut down the favored firstborn.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

You will unlock this during The Reckoning at the end of Chapter 2 after confronting the Dragon at Matsumae Castle. The setup plays out through the story as you use the captured Spider as bait, leading to a full scale assault on the castle. Once the chaos begins, you will be pulled into a one on one duel with the Dragon, and this is where staying adaptable matters. Pay attention to his weapon and switch your stance or approach accordingly so you can break his guard faster. Use heavy attacks to create openings, then follow with quick damage before backing off. If you have been keeping up with upgrades, this fight should feel fair, just do not get greedy because he hits harder than earlier bosses. Take your time, stay patient, and once he goes down the trophy is yours.

Trophy: The Kitsune

Send Saito’s spymaster back to the shadows.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks after defeating Dojun, but getting to him is where most of the work is. The Kitsune hideout is packed with fox statue puzzles, and the key is to ignore anything that is not clearly tied to the fox symbols. At the entrance, only light the two fox lanterns and skip everything else. Early on, make sure you grab the scroll inside the house because it becomes your reference for every puzzle that follows. When exiting, avoid statues marked with the death symbol and interact only with the one marked like an M to safely leave. Once outside, use the scroll directions carefully since every puzzle is based on orientation. Set the foxes from left to right as east, south, north, and west to drop the ladder and move forward. Inside the dye house, align the statues based on their poses so each one faces the correct direction, which opens the path deeper into the hideout. In the forest section, only light lanterns that match the pedestal foxes, then solve the final set by turning the left fox right, the middle fox away from you, and the right fox left. If something does not trigger, double check your directions because one wrong turn will block progress. Once all puzzles are solved, Dojun is waiting at the end, and taking him down will wrap this up cleanly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAvM31ADu_0

Trophy: The Oni

Extinguish the fire of a cruel warlord.

Unlock Details

You will earn this after completing The Oni main tale, which is a longer story arc involving tracking, interrogation, and a full castle infiltration. Follow the story objectives through Ishikari Market, accept the Mad Goro bounty from the board, and continue progressing until he reveals the Oni’s location. The infiltration plan with Jubei plays out automatically, so just focus on surviving the encounters and pushing forward. After regrouping and tracking the Oni to his final hideout, you will face him in a proper boss fight and unlock the trophy on defeat. While working through this section, keep an eye out near the cliffside shrine encounter because it is a perfect spot to knock out the Sayonara trophy at the same time and save yourself a cleanup later.

Trophy: The Onryō Rests

Find a future beyond the hunt.

Type: Gold

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This is your final story trophy and unlocks after defeating Lord Saito at the end of the game. Before heading to the Central Ferry, you will get a clear point of no return prompt, so this is your moment to finish anything you still need like upgrades, side content, or cleanup. Once you confirm, push through Koga Fortress, rescue Jubei and Oyuki, and prepare for the real final stretch. The last fight takes place back at your childhood home, where Saito is waiting with Kiku hostage. This duel is the ultimate test of everything you have learned, so stay patient, switch weapons based on his stance, and do not rush your openings. He punishes mistakes hard, but if you play smart and controlled, you will take him down cleanly. Finish the fight, watch the ending, and enjoy the payoff because this is the moment the entire journey builds toward.

Trophy: The Snake

Cross the first name off your sash.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This is your first real step into the game and it unlocks naturally after finishing the prologue. The fight against the Snake is designed to teach you how combat flows, so do not overthink it. Focus on using heavy attacks with Triangle to break his guard, then follow up with light attacks using Square to deal damage. If you stay aggressive and keep pressure on him, the fight ends quickly and sets the tone for how duels work going forward. Think of this as your warm up because the game gets much tougher after this.

Trophy: The Spider

Defeat the son of a tyrant.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

After the events at Matsumae Castle, the story leads you to track down the Spider in the Tokachi Range where he is mourning at his family grave site. This encounter starts differently, with a short emotional moment before turning into a chase and eventually another duel. Once the fight begins, treat it like the other boss encounters by adjusting your weapon choice to counter his style and focusing on breaking his guard first. He is not as aggressive as the Dragon, so this is a good chance to stay controlled and pick your moments. After defeating him, you choose to spare his life, which pushes the story forward and unlocks the trophy. This one is more about execution than difficulty, so if you made it this far you are more than ready.

Trophy: The Woman Behind the Mask

Show mercy to the innkeeper’s daughter.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

You will earn this during the Nine-Tails storyline after surviving your first encounter with the Kitsune and escaping the toxin-induced illusion. Your next objective leads you to the Old Graveyard where you meet Oyuki, and things quickly turn into a fight. She uses a Kusarigama and can deal heavy damage if you get careless, so focus on parrying and staying aggressive when you see an opening. Once her health drops, the fight transitions into a story moment where she reveals her past, and this is where the key choice happens. Choose to spare her and the trophy will unlock. This is a great example of the game rewarding restraint instead of aggression, and it also gives you a useful ability to resist the Kitsune toxin moving forward.

Trophy: Twin Wolves

Reunite with a ghost from the past.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This unlocks naturally during The Oni main tale when you arrive in the Ishikari Plains and reconnect with Jubei. Follow the objective to the Golden Foothills, deal with the Oni raiders, and stick with the story as you move through the area. After regrouping and clearing another enemy encounter, you will reach a small camp where you are asked to gather fish and cook them. This simple moment triggers a cutscene that reveals Jubei’s identity and unlocks the trophy. There is nothing missable here, so just enjoy the scene because it is one of the more personal story beats in the game and a nice break from all the fighting.

Trophy: Wrath of the Onryō

Relive the Night of the Burning Tree.

Type: Bronze

Category: Story

Unlock Details

This trophy unlocks during the story when you confront the Spider at the guest house near Tamura Estate. You can approach the area however you want, stealth or full combat both work, but the key moment happens once you reach the reenactment scene. This is where the game introduces the Ghost Stance, and the fight becomes much easier if you use it properly. Build the stance by defeating enemies without taking damage, then activate it to deal heavy damage to the Spider. If you lose momentum, just focus on clean kills to recharge it and repeat. Once you defeat him, the scene wraps up with you taking him hostage instead of killing him, and the trophy unlocks. This is a great moment to get comfortable with Ghost Stance because it becomes a powerful tool later.
