Full Guide Intro
Odin's Ravens are one of the largest collectible hunts in God of War. These green spectral birds are hidden throughout the Nine Realms and often perch in locations that are easy to overlook during normal exploration.
Finding all 51 Odin's Ravens requires both story progression and late-game backtracking. Some are available during your first visit to an area, while others require abilities gained later in the adventure.
How Odin's Ravens Work
Most Ravens are perched on cliffs, structures, tree branches, or hidden alcoves.
Several Ravens are tied to progression and cannot be reached immediately. The collection naturally unfolds throughout the story, with additional opportunities opening as new areas become accessible.
For tracking purposes, the Ravens can be divided into several major groups:
- Main story locations
- Lake of Nine regions
- Helheim
- Wildwoods
- Valkyrie Hidden Chambers
Main Story Raven Locations
The first group of Ravens appears naturally during progression through the story.
River Pass (4 Early Ravens)
Several Ravens appear during your first trip through the region, including locations near:
- The first Heavy Draugr encounter
- The tunnel before the Brenna Daudi arena
- Brenna Daudi's arena
- The burned village
The Foothills (1 Raven)
A single Raven can be found near the Sky Mover after being turned back by the Black Breath.
Alfheim (1 Raven)
The Light Elf Shores contains a Raven near the temple balcony overlooking the Lake of Light.
The Mountain (3 Ravens)
Three Ravens are hidden throughout the Mountain during the first visit, including locations near the bridge encounter, Brok's shop, and the cart elevator section.
Lake Of Nine Raven Locations
The largest group of Ravens is found around the Lake of Nine and surrounding regions.
Areas containing Ravens include:
- Lookout Tower
- Cliffs of the Raven
- Volunder Mines
- Buri's Storeroom
- Stone Falls
- Veithurgard
- Council of Valkyries
- Northri Stronghold
- Forgotten Caverns
- Konunsgard
- Fafnir's Storeroom
- Isle of Death
- Iron Cove
- Niflheim Tower
- Landsuther Mines
Many of these locations become easier to fully explore during the Low Water Phase when additional pathways and climbing routes become available.
Helheim Raven Locations
Helheim contains six Ravens total.
Three can be collected during the story chapter The Sickness.
The remaining three require returning later with Atreus, allowing access to additional paths, Hidden Chambers, and Valkyrie-related areas.
Because Helheim is visited multiple times, many players miss a few Ravens during their first pass through the realm.
Wildwoods Raven Location
A single Raven can be found in the Wildwoods.
This collectible requires the Magic Chisel to access a Hidden Chamber located near Kratos' home. Without the Chisel, this Raven cannot be obtained.
Valkyrie Chamber Raven Locations
Several Ravens are hidden inside Valkyrie Hidden Chambers.
These chambers include:
- Eir in The Mountain
- Geirdriful in the Foothills
- Gunnr in Thamur's Corpse
- Kara in River Pass
- Olrun in Alfheim
Players pursuing both Valkyrie battles and collectible completion can often collect these Ravens during the same visit.
Finishing The Collection
The final stages of the Raven hunt usually involve revisiting previously explored regions after obtaining late-game abilities and story progression.
Because some Ravens are locked behind Hidden Chambers, Low Water areas, or later story chapters, it is normal to miss several during the initial playthrough. Returning during the endgame allows you to clean up any remaining collectibles and work toward full completion.
Video
Step-by-Step
- Collect Ravens encountered during the main story.
- Explore every accessible area around the Lake of Nine.
- Return during the Low Water Phase to reach additional locations.
- Complete exploration of Helheim during both visits.
- Unlock Hidden Chambers using the Magic Chisel.
- Visit all Valkyrie arenas and chambers.
- Revisit unfinished regions during post-game cleanup.
- Finish the remaining Ravens before pursuing 100% completion.
Best Strategy
Focus on collecting Ravens naturally during story progression rather than hunting all 51 immediately.
Once you reach the late game and gain access to additional areas, revisit every major region and Hidden Chamber. This reduces unnecessary backtracking and allows multiple collectibles to be gathered in a single trip.
Missables
No Odin's Ravens are permanently missable.
However, many players overlook Ravens in Helheim, Hidden Chambers, and Low Water Phase regions because they require revisiting areas later in the game.
Rewards
- Progress toward full collectible completion
- Increased regional completion percentages
- Advancement toward 100% completion goals
- Satisfaction of finally silencing all 51 of Odin's spies
Tips
Listen carefully while exploring. Ravens often make distinctive sounds before they become visible.
If you're missing only a handful near the end of the game, check Helheim, Konunsgard, and the various Valkyrie chambers first. These are some of the most commonly missed locations.

What To Do After Beating God of War
After finishing God of War, there is still plenty left to do. Players can challenge the Valkyries, explore Muspelheim and Niflheim, complete unfinished Favors, free optional dragons, start New Game+, and take on the powerful Valkyrie Queen.
Many of the game's toughest battles, best rewards, and most challenging content are found after the main story ends, making the post-game one of the most rewarding parts of the adventure.

How To Defeat Valkyrie Queen Sigrun In God of War
The best way to defeat Sigrun, the Valkyrie Queen in God of War, is to arrive fully prepared with upgraded gear, maximum health, strong runic attacks, and abilities that can slow time. Before challenging her, defeat all other Valkyries and place their helmets in the throne circle to unlock the fight.
Because Sigrun uses abilities from every other Valkyrie, she is dangerous at both close and long range. Strong runic builds, healing effects, and careful timing are key to surviving one of the hardest boss fights in the game.

How To Get The Shattered Gauntlet Of Ages In God of War
The Shattered Gauntlet of Ages is obtained during Family Business, a Favor from Sindri in Northri Stronghold. The Favor becomes available after completing Fafnir's Storeroom and the story chapter The Sickness.
When fully upgraded and equipped with specific enchantments, the talisman becomes a reference to Thanos' Infinity Gauntlet, gaining a powerful enemy-seeking projectile attack.

How To Defeat Valkyrie Rota In God of War
Rota is the Helheim Valkyrie in God of War and relies heavily on aerial attacks, unblockable dives, and a devastating head stomp. The key to victory is learning her attack patterns, blocking her ranged projectiles, dodging her dive attacks, and punishing her whenever she lands.
Before the fight, fill your Runic Attack meters, enter with a full Spartan Rage bar, and bring a Resurrection Stone. Most of Rota's attacks leave her vulnerable for a short time after they finish.

How To Defeat Valkyrie Hildr In God of War
Hildr is the Valkyrie hidden within Niflheim and is often considered one of the easier Valkyrie fights. To reach her, follow the left side of Niflheim's maze from the central workshop area and push through to the left field section.
During the fight, focus on parrying her dash attacks, blocking her wing combos and ice projectiles, and dodging her unblockable attacks. Entering the battle with full Runic Attacks, Spartan Rage, and a Resurrection Stone makes the encounter much easier.

Best Early Talismans In God of War
Two of the strongest early talismans in God of War are the Golden Talisman of Protection and the Amulet of Kvasir. The Golden Talisman can be found shortly after reaching the Lake of Nine at Stone Falls, while the Amulet of Kvasir becomes available after reaching Alfheim.
The Golden Talisman improves defense and parrying, while the Amulet of Kvasir rewards perfectly timed dodges by slowing time. Both remain useful well into the later stages of the game.
