Roadmap

Early Game

The opening hours are all about learning how combat actually works, not just swinging your axe and hoping for the best. Take your time in the Wildwoods and early mountain paths to get comfortable with axe throws, recalls, and using Atreus in fights. The game rewards patience, so if enemies start overwhelming you, slow things down and control the fight instead of rushing in.

As you progress, start opening Nornir Chests whenever you see them. These are your main way to increase health and rage early, and skipping them now just means more backtracking later. Exploration is worth it here, even if you are eager to push the story forward.

Mid Game

Once you reach the Lake of Nine, the game really opens up and gives you more freedom to explore. This is a great time to start doing side favors, upgrading gear, and paying attention to collectibles without going full completion mode yet. You will naturally knock out a lot of progress toward trophies just by exploring between story missions.

Combat also starts to evolve here, especially once you unlock more abilities and eventually gain access to a second weapon. Try different runic attacks and builds to see what fits your playstyle. If something feels confusing or you are not sure where to go next, Ask Gami and you will save yourself a lot of wandering.

Late Game

As you approach the final stretch, enemies hit harder and fights become more demanding, so make sure your gear is upgraded and your runic attacks are in a good place. This is also a good time to start thinking about optional challenges like realm trials and tougher enemies, but you do not need to finish everything just yet.

Stay focused on the main story and enjoy the ride without worrying about missing anything important. There are no missable trophies tied to the main progression, so you can play naturally without stress and clean things up later.

Trophy Cleanup and Extra Tips

After finishing the story, the world remains fully open for cleanup. This is where you will focus on collectibles like ravens, artifacts, and treasure maps, along with finishing side quests and optional challenges. It might look like a lot at first, but if you explored along the way, you have already done a big chunk of the work.

Some of the toughest content comes from optional encounters, so do not get discouraged if they take a few tries. Take breaks, upgrade your gear, and come back stronger if needed. And if you ever feel stuck on a specific collectible or boss, just Ask Gami and get a quick answer instead of digging through guides.
