Life is Strange: Double Exposure Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME
Welcome back, Max Caulfield! Our favorite time-bending photographer has traded Arcadia Bay for Caledon University, where a mysterious murder, two parallel timelines, and another collection of emotionally devastating decisions await. Apparently, Max's life wasn't complicated enough the first time around. This adventure replaces her familiar rewind ability with the power to shift between realities, giving you twice the places to investigate and twice the opportunities to forget what you were doing.

Your Platinum journey requires two complete playthroughs. During Chapter 1, while speaking with Safi at the Snapping Turtle, you'll be asked about Chloe. For your first playthrough, choose "She Died" to begin the Bay path. You'll eventually need to finish the entire game again with "We Broke Up" for the Bae path. Keep these runs in separate save slots, as overwriting your completed playthrough can interfere with the Bay or Bae trophy.

Make your first playthrough the thorough one. Collect Polaroids, investigate optional interactions, and begin working toward Frame Fatale, which requires 39 snapshots within a single playthrough. Also, plan ahead for Platypus Genius by signing up for Platypus Facts during Chapter 2. Some snapshots depend on decisions made several chapters earlier, so follow the individual trophy instructions carefully. Max can jump between realities, but unfortunately, she can't rewind a badly planned Platinum run.

MID GAME
As you progress through Chapters 2 and 3, you'll spend plenty of time switching between the Living and Dead Worlds to investigate Caledon's increasingly suspicious residents. Explore both timelines before advancing important conversations, because collectibles and optional interactions can appear in different places depending on which reality you're visiting. Keep an eye out for Polaroids, snapshots, staff books, decorations, and clues for Max's evidence collection. Being a photographer apparently wasn't enough; she's now running an unofficial detective agency.

Chapter 2 is particularly important for several multi-step trophies. Make sure you've delivered Vinh's package in Chapter 1 so you can save his favor later. Water both required plants, investigate the student projects, collect evidence, and begin receiving Platypus Facts messages. Read these messages as they arrive, since failing to keep up with them can cost you the trophy. For Be Great, Do Crime!, agree to cooperate with Detective Alderman, then later tell Moses you're not actually going to cooperate. Max's moral compass is getting quite the workout.

During Chapter 3, pay special attention to your relationships with Amanda and Vinh. The four romance trophies require every possible combination: Amanda only, Vinh only, both, and neither. Fortunately, these outcomes can be cleaned up using Chapter Select. For your main playthrough, romancing Vinh is a useful choice because it helps secure a later snapshot opportunity. Also, protect Gwen's USB evidence and continue the related conversations through Chapter 4 to keep her final snapshot available. Romance, investigations, and timeline management? Max desperately needs a vacation.

LATE GAME
Chapters 4 and 5 bring the mystery toward its conclusion, but don't let the increasingly dramatic story distract you from your remaining collectibles. Chapter 4 includes four Polaroids, several snapshots, another Platypus Facts message, and an opportunity to help Moses finish his gingerbread house. At the Krampus party, complete your optional interactions before pushing the main story forward. Most importantly, read all five Platypus Facts messages received up to that point before leaving the party, as earlier messages can become unavailable afterward.

Chapter 5 contains the final three Polaroids and a large collection of snapshot opportunities. Frame Fatale deserves special attention here because certain photographs depend on earlier choices. Reggie's appearance in the final chapter is affected by your romance and party decisions, while Gwen's final photograph requires following her evidence-related storyline across multiple chapters. The trophy has also been reported as unreliable, so carefully complete all 39 required snapshots on the same save rather than assuming you can combine progress between playthroughs.

Once you've completed your first playthrough and secured the important collectibles, begin your second run in a separate save slot. This time, tell Safi "We Broke Up" during Chapter 1 to follow the Bae path. You can concentrate on the main story and any remaining objectives, since you've already handled the more demanding collectible work. Complete all five chapters again to satisfy Bay or Bae. Yes, one conversation near the beginning really does require another entire playthrough. Somewhere, Max is wondering why she ever gave up rewinding time.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS
After your first playthrough, use Chapter Select to clean up missed Polaroids, optional interactions, and romance outcomes before starting the second run. There are 20 Polaroids scattered across the five chapters, and these can be collected through Explore Scene without restarting the entire story. Be careful when choosing replay options: Explore Scene preserves your existing story progress, while Restart Scene can overwrite later progression. Some trophies involving connected choices or ongoing collectible tracking may require proper story progression rather than isolated scene visits.

Prioritize Frame Fatale and Platypus Genius instead of leaving them for casual cleanup. Snapshots must be completed within a single playthrough, and the Platypus Facts messages have specific sign-up and reading requirements. If you're missing an important decision-dependent snapshot, you may need to replay a significant portion of the story. Frame Fatale has known reports of failing to unlock even after the required photographs are taken, so don't assume a replay will automatically solve every issue. The optional Exclusive Cat Content DLC is not required for the Platinum, and there are no online trophies or difficulty restrictions.

With two complete playthroughs and some cleanup, expect approximately 15–30 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore and whether any trophies give you trouble. Once you've completed both Chloe-history paths and earned every base-game trophy, Picture Perfect will unlock. Congratulations! You've solved a supernatural mystery, survived a university full of secrets, and taken enough photographs to fill several extremely concerning family albums. Max deserves a break. Preferably somewhere with only one timeline.
