Trophy: A Trick of the Light
Found all photos in Chapter 1
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all three Polaroids in Chapter 1: Still Life. 1. A Drink to Remember — Snapping Turtle: While facing Amanda at the bar, head left toward the doorway leading to the terrace. Look for the Polaroid on a nearby shelf. 2. Things Are Looking Up — Rooftop: After following Safi outside, head left along the pathway. Before reaching the statue, check the smaller path branching off to the left to find the Polaroid. 3. Upstairs, Downcast — Max's House: After Max gets dressed and heads downstairs, look beside the telescope near the living room window. Collect the Polaroid before cleaning up the house. Once you've collected all three, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Polaroids can be recovered through Chapter Select using Explore Scene, so missing one doesn't require restarting the entire game.
Warning
The rooftop Polaroid must be collected before advancing along the main path and triggering the next cutscene. Likewise, grab the photograph beside Max's telescope before progressing with the house cleanup.

Trophy: Archival Footage
Found all photos in Life is Strange: Double Exposure
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all 20 Polaroids scattered throughout Life is Strange: Double Exposure. The photographs are divided across the five story chapters: Chapter 1: Still Life — 3 Polaroids Chapter 2: Penumbra — 5 Polaroids Chapter 3: Spin — 5 Polaroids Chapter 4: Diptych — 4 Polaroids Chapter 5: Decoherence — 3 Polaroids Once you've collected all 20, Archival Footage will unlock automatically. If you missed any during your playthrough, use Chapter Select and choose Explore Scene to revisit the relevant locations without overwriting your main story progress.
Tip
Use the five chapter-specific Polaroid trophies to narrow down where you're missing photographs. There's no reason to search every corner of Caledon again when you already know which chapter needs attention.

Trophy: Clue Me In
Collected all possible clues for the evidence box
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all six clues needed for Max's evidence box across Chapters 1 and 2. 1. Abraxas Rose — Chapter 1: Back to School Blues: After the confrontation involving Gwen and Loretta, collect the rose from the table outside Gwen's office. 2. Cow Skull Photograph — Chapter 2: Table for Three: Obtained automatically when Safi shows Max the photograph. 3. Gwen's Email — Chapter 2: By the Horns: During the investigation of Gwen's office, print the email she sent to Maria. 4. Lucas' Signed Book — Chapter 2: By the Horns (Dead World): While investigating Lucas, examine the stack of books on his table. After speaking with him, take a signed copy before continuing. 5. Bear Mug Snapshot — Chapter 2: Leaving Nothing Overlooked (Living World): After switching to the Living World, backtrack along the path and look for a bear-shaped mug positioned in a tree. Examine it and take a snapshot. 6. Gwen's USB — Chapter 2: Leaving Nothing Overlooked: When Gwen attempts to destroy the USB drive, choose "Save the Footage" to preserve the evidence. Near the end of Chapter 2, during Photo Finished, Max will examine the collected evidence at her living room table. The trophy unlocks once you've gathered all six clues and reviewed the completed collection.
Tip
Saving Gwen's USB is especially important because it also helps unlock a later snapshot required for Frame Fatale. One good decision, two trophy objectives. Max could use more of those.
Warning
Choose "Save the Footage" when Gwen attempts to destroy the USB. Losing this evidence can prevent you from completing the collection during that playthrough and interfere with Gwen's later snapshot opportunity.

Trophy: Clutterbug
Found everything to decorate Hellerton with
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all six decorations for Max's home, Hellerton, across Chapters 1 and 2. Chapter 1: Still Life 1. Mini Mascot Toys — Out of the Gutter: In the abandoned bowling alley, remove the tarp and interact with the large mascot statue near the shoe racks. After the interaction, collect the small mascot toy. 2. Arcadia Bay Pictures — Upstairs, Downcast: While cleaning Max's house, examine the box containing her Arcadia Bay memories. Collect the photographs underneath it, take them upstairs, and add them to the photo wall. 3. Puzzle Box — Back to School Blues: After Reggie drops a mysterious box on campus, pick it up and speak with him. Solve the first part of the puzzle to keep the box. 4. Origami Flower — Back to School Blues: Near the Caledon statue, find the paper flower resting on a bench. Examine it and unfold it twice to collect it. 5. Abraxas Rose — Back to School Blues: After the conversation involving Gwen and Loretta, look for a rose on the table outside Gwen's office. Pick it up before continuing. Chapter 2: Penumbra 6. Stress Relief Card — By the Horns (Living World): Inside the Administration Building, find the stress-relief display. Interact with it, then collect the card when the option becomes available. Once you've collected all six decorations, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Most decorations appear during Chapter 1, so concentrate on collecting them during your first visit to Caledon. Use the accompanying video to quickly identify anything you missed. Max might be dealing with parallel universes and a murder mystery, but apparently, interior decorating remains a top priority.

Trophy: Frame Fatale
Took all possible photos
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Take all 39 required snapshots across the five chapters of Life is Strange: Double Exposure. Unlike Polaroids, snapshots are photographs Max takes using her camera. Look for snapshot opportunities while exploring both timelines, interacting with characters, and investigating important locations. All 39 snapshots must be completed within a single playthrough and the same save file. Some require specific dialogue choices or earlier story decisions. Pay particular attention to these two opportunities in Chapter 5: 1. Reggie — Back Together Again: Romance Vinh during Chapter 3 and distract Reggie using the "Missing Assignment" option during the Chapter 4 party. This sets up Reggie's optional appearance and photograph opportunity in Chapter 5. 2. Gwen — Back Together Again: Save Gwen's USB evidence during Chapter 2, watch the footage and encourage Gwen to examine the evidence during Chapter 3, then follow up with her at the Chapter 4 Krampus party. These interactions allow Gwen to appear for her final photograph in Chapter 5. Use the accompanying video walkthrough to locate every snapshot, including those that require specific positioning or timeline changes.
Tip
Make Frame Fatale a priority during your first playthrough. Follow the snapshot video chapter by chapter and take every photograph before advancing the story. Missing one of the decision-dependent opportunities can mean replaying a substantial portion of the game.
Warning
This trophy has reported unlocking issues, even when players believe they've captured every snapshot. Progress from different save files cannot simply be combined, and Chapter Select may not reliably resolve every missing photograph. Complete the required snapshots together on one save and preserve that playthrough.

Trophy: Further Developments
Found all photos in Chapter 2
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all five Polaroids in Chapter 2: Penumbra. 1. Table for Three — Dead World: Inside the Snapping Turtle, switch to the Dead World and head toward the area where Safi and Yasmin were sitting. Turn left around the corner to find the Polaroid on a table. 2. By the Horns — Living World: Before entering the campus building, head left from the statue and look for a wooden picnic table holding the Polaroid. 3. Leaving Nothing Overlooked — Living World: At the Overlook, check the bench near Gwen before approaching her. 4. Avoiding Detection — Dead World: While exploring Moses' lab, look for the desk opposite the Christmas tree. The Polaroid is resting on it. 5. Photo Finished — Dead World: Inside Max's house, head toward the radio in the living room. The final Polaroid is sitting beside it. Once you've collected all five, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Remember to check which timeline you're in when searching for Polaroids. Several appear in only one reality, so switching worlds can save you from spending five minutes investigating an empty table. Max has enough existential problems without adding misplaced photographs.

Trophy: Page Turner
Read all staff books
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Read all three required staff books and manuscripts across Chapters 2 and 3. 1. Gwen's Memoir — Chapter 2: By the Horns (Living World) Inside Gwen's office, switch to the Living World and examine the desk beside the aquarium. Find Gwen's memoir near the laptop and read it. 2. Safi's Manuscript — Chapter 3: Re: Verses (Living World) During your investigation involving Gwen, obtain Safi's manuscript. Depending on the conversation, Gwen may hand it to Max or leave it in a drawer. If it's placed in the drawer, retrieve it in the Living World. Read the manuscript to register your progress. 3. Maya's Manuscript and Lucas' Book — Chapter 3: Re: Verses (Dead World) After speaking with Lucas, leave his office and switch to the Dead World. Return to the office and examine the lower drawer near the entrance. Investigate the evidence inside, then inspect the family photograph on Lucas' desk. Rotate the photograph to reveal a hidden key. Use the key to access the material near the golden typewriter, then read both manuscripts. The trophy unlocks after you've examined all the required reading material.
Tip
Don't just collect the books. Make sure you actually read them. Max has somehow turned a murder investigation into a university reading assignment, which feels unnecessarily realistic.

Trophy: Patronizing (The Good Kind)
Interacted with everyone's project
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Interact with all four student and faculty projects during Chapter 2: Penumbra. 1. By the Horns — Phone Booth (Living World) Inside the Fine Arts Building café, find the interactive phone booth. Take a snapshot of the booth, then interact with its past-facing side and select the option to speak to the future. Move to the opposite side and listen to the response to complete the interaction. 2. By the Horns — Audio Installation (Living World) While exploring the café area, find the audio installation playing a recording. Select the option to listen and remain there until Max comments on what she's heard. This can take a couple of minutes. 3. Leaving Nothing Overlooked — Fallen Trees (Living World) While following the path toward the Overlook, you'll encounter fallen trees blocking the way. Examine the installation before switching timelines to continue. 4. Avoiding Detection — Mural (Dead World) While searching Moses' lab for the Allen wrench, find the mural and interact with it. Max will need a better angle, so head upstairs and locate the appropriate photography position. Take the snapshot to complete the final project interaction. The trophy unlocks after you've completed all four interactions.
Tip
Give the audio installation enough time to finish. Walking away before Max comments can prevent the interaction from counting. Even in a supernatural mystery, you're apparently expected to appreciate student art properly.

Trophy: Picture Taking
Found all photos in Chapter 4
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all four Polaroids in Chapter 4: Diptych. 1. I Thought I Was the Only One — Dead World: At Max's apartment, switch to the Dead World before changing clothes and speaking with Safi. Look for the Polaroid on a table in the corner of the living room. 2. No Party Like a Krampus Party — Dead World: During the party, switch to the Dead World to speak with Moses. Look for the Polaroid on a table to the right of the stage. 3. No Party Like a Krampus Party — Living World: After following Safi onto the patio to confront Lucas, look for the Polaroid just before reaching them. Pick it up before starting the conversation. 4. Scatterbrained — Living World: Once you regain control of Max, head straight toward the wooden picnic tables between the large rock and the statue. The final Polaroid is sitting on one of the tables. Collecting all four photographs unlocks the trophy.
Tip
Two Polaroids are available during the Krampus party, one in each timeline. Explore both realities before advancing the story. Apparently, even supernatural murder mysteries have mandatory holiday parties.
Warning
Collect the patio Polaroid before speaking with Safi and Lucas. Starting their conversation prevents you from returning to that area during the current scene.

Trophy: Platypus Genius
Read all messages from Platypus Facts
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Sign up for Platypus Facts and read all six messages received throughout Chapters 2–5. Chapter 2: Penumbra — By the Horns At the beginning of the subchapter, switch to the Dead World near the Caledon statue. Follow the pathway toward the picnic tables and examine the sign attached to the first tree on your left. Interact with the advertisement, then interact with it again to subscribe to Platypus Facts. Once subscribed, Max will receive six messages throughout the story. Read each message after it becomes available: 1. Chapter 2 — By the Horns: The first notification arrives around the Fine Arts Building. Read it after entering Gwen's office. 2. Chapter 2 — Photo Finished: The second notification arrives while examining the collected evidence in Max's living room. 3. Chapter 3 — Proving Grounds: The third notification arrives after switching to the Dead World during your conversation with Moses. 4. Chapter 3 — Nobody Wants to Drink Alone: The fourth notification arrives after switching to the Dead World to speak with Vinh. 5. Chapter 4 — No Party Like a Krampus Party: The fifth notification arrives after switching to the Dead World to ask Moses for help with the projector. 6. Chapter 5 — Back Together Again: The final notification arrives after speaking with the characters at the Snapping Turtle. Read it before speaking with Moses to finish the game. Once you've read all six messages, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Make a habit of checking Max's phone whenever you receive a Platypus Facts notification. The messages are easy to ignore when you're busy investigating an actual murder, but apparently, learning about a suspiciously adorable egg-laying mammal is essential to earning the Platinum.
Warning
You must read the first five messages before finishing the Chapter 4 Krampus party sequence. Earlier messages can become unavailable afterward, preventing you from completing the trophy during that playthrough. Chapter Select's Explore Scene mode is not a reliable way to recover missed Platypus Facts messages. Complete the subscription and message collection during a continuous story playthrough.

Trophy: Viewfinding
Found all photos in Chapter 5
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible

Collect all three Polaroids in Chapter 5: Decoherence. 1. Under Observation — Rooftop: While exploring the rooftop with Moses, head toward the railing where Max spoke with Safi during Chapter 1. Look for the Polaroid resting on the railing. 2. Quit Stalling — Bathroom: After gaining control of Max in the bathroom, examine the wall to your left. You'll find the second Polaroid attached to it. 3. Razing the Bar — Dead World: While trying to reach Gwen on the Snapping Turtle patio, switch to the Dead World. Before heading outside, approach the stage and check the tables in front of it for the final Polaroid. Collecting all three photographs unlocks the trophy.
Tip
The final Polaroid is easy to overlook because the story directs you toward the patio. Check the tables near the stage before following your objective. Even with reality falling apart, Max apparently refuses to abandon her photography hobby.

Trophy: Bay or Bae
Played through Life is Strange: Double Exposure with both outcomes from Life is Strange
Type: Gold
Category: Ending
Unlock Details
Complete Life is Strange: Double Exposure twice, experiencing both possible outcomes of Chloe's fate from the original Life is Strange. During Chapter 1: Still Life, in the subchapter A Drink to Remember, Safi will ask Max about the blue-haired girl from her past while they're talking at the Snapping Turtle. You must complete a full playthrough with each of the following responses: 1. "She Died" — Bay Path: Select this response and complete all five chapters. 2. "We Broke Up" — Bae Path: Start a new playthrough in a separate save slot, choose this response, and complete all five chapters again. After finishing the game with both outcomes, the trophy should unlock. Other story choices don't affect this requirement.
Tip
Complete your collectibles and miscellaneous trophies during your first playthrough. That way, your second run can focus on the story rather than searching every room for another photograph. Max may have new powers, but skipping an entire playthrough isn't one of them.
Warning
Use separate save slots and preserve both completed playthroughs. Players have reported problems unlocking this trophy after overwriting their original save. The trophy has also been reported as unreliable, so keeping both completed files is the safest approach.

Trophy: A Nice Girl Who Runs a Bar
Romanced only Amanda
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Romance Amanda without romancing Vinh in Chapter 3: Spin. Location: Nobody Wants to Drink Alone — Snapping Turtle During this chapter, Max can spend time with Amanda and Vinh at the Snapping Turtle. When speaking with Amanda after the Revenger Horse concert experience, choose "That would be hot" to open the opportunity for a romantic interaction. When the option becomes available, choose to kiss Amanda. During your conversation with Vinh, avoid choosing the romantic option to kiss him. Finish the bar sequence with Amanda as Max's only romantic interest to unlock the trophy.
Tip
There are four romance trophies covering every possible combination of Amanda and Vinh. You can revisit this subchapter using Chapter Select and Explore Scene to unlock the other outcomes without replaying the entire game.

Trophy: Art Restoration
Fixed all the paintings
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Fix all three crooked paintings in Chapter 1: Still Life. Location: A Drink to Remember — Snapping Turtle While exploring the bar, you'll find three paintings that have been flipped out of position. 1. Painting #1: From Max's starting position, turn right and look at the wall near the stage. Examine the handwritten note beneath the paintings to unlock the option to straighten them, then fix the crooked painting above. 2. Painting #2: From the first location, turn around and head toward the opposite side of the bar. Look along the wall near the terrace doorway to find another crooked painting. Straighten it. 3. Painting #3: Return toward Amanda's side of the bar. Look along the wall behind the seating area, near two people having a conversation, to find the final painting. Once all three paintings have been restored, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Examine the handwritten note near the first painting before attempting to fix the others. This enables the restoration interactions. It's a surprisingly wholesome task for Max, considering she'll soon be investigating a supernatural murder. Enjoy the normalcy while it lasts.

Trophy: Be Great, Do Crime!
Committed the crimes
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Complete the required interactions across Chapters 1 and 2. Chapter 1: Still Life — Out of the Gutter While exploring the abandoned bowling alley, progress until you've removed the tarp covering the large mascot statue. Interact with the mascot, then collect the small mascot toy that becomes available nearby. Chapter 2: Penumbra — Avoiding Detection Later, Detective Alderman will question Max and ask her to cooperate with his investigation. When prompted to make a decision, choose "Agree." Chapter 2: Penumbra — Photo Finished Near the end of the chapter, Max will speak with Moses about her conversation with Alderman. When discussing whether she intends to cooperate, choose "I'm not actually going to cooperate." After completing the required interactions, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
The most important decisions are agreeing to cooperate with Alderman and then admitting to Moses that you have no intention of doing so. Max's detective career is progressing nicely, although her honesty could probably use some work.
Warning
The Chapter 2 dialogue choices must be completed correctly. If you select the wrong response, you may need to restart the relevant scene and replay the subsequent story progression, or complete the requirements during your second playthrough.

Trophy: Favor Saver
Never cashed in your favor from Vinh
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Save your favor from Vinh instead of using it during Chapter 2: Penumbra. Location: By the Horns — Dead World First, you must have completed The Mail Gaze in Chapter 1 by retrieving Vinh's package from the mailroom and delivering it to him. This earns Max a favor she can call in later. During Chapter 2, switch to the Dead World and speak with Vinh while investigating the passcode to his phone. When the conversation gives you the option to use your favor, choose "Save it for Later." The trophy unlocks after selecting this response.
Tip
You don't need to use the favor to progress. Simply keep it in your back pocket and let the conversation continue. Apparently, Max has discovered the rarest currency at Caledon University: someone who actually owes her something.
Warning
If you didn't deliver Vinh's package in Chapter 1, the required dialogue option won't be available. Complete The Mail Gaze first.

Trophy: Home Sweet Home
Helped Moses finish the gingerbread house
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Help Moses finish his gingerbread house in Chapter 4: Diptych. Location: No Party Like a Krampus Party — Snapping Turtle During the Krampus party, you'll need to speak with Moses in the Dead World as part of the story. After dealing with the projector and reporting back to him, Moses will mention that his gingerbread house is missing a chimney. Switch to the Living World and find Safi. During your conversation, choose the optional dialogue about the gingerbread house. Safi will help you obtain a replacement chimney. Once you have it, switch back to the Dead World and return to Moses. Give him the chimney to complete his gingerbread house and unlock the trophy.
Tip
Ask Safi about the gingerbread house before advancing the main story. Between the murder investigation and reality falling apart, it's nice that Max still finds time for emergency holiday construction.

Trophy: It's Complicated
Romanced both Amanda and Vinh
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Romance both Amanda and Vinh in Chapter 3: Spin. Location: Nobody Wants to Drink Alone — Snapping Turtle During the bar sequence, Max will have separate opportunities to pursue romantic interactions with Amanda and Vinh. After the Revenger Horse concert experience, continue your conversation with Amanda until you're sitting together on the sofa. Choose "That would be hot" when the dialogue option appears. This opens the opportunity to kiss Amanda. Select the option to kiss her. Later, speak with Vinh and participate in his Smash or Pass game. Your answers during the game don't affect the romance opportunity. When Vinh asks about himself, choose the romantic option to kiss him. Finish the bar sequence after kissing both characters to unlock the trophy.
Tip
All four romance trophies can be earned by replaying this subchapter through Chapter Select using Explore Scene. Complete one romantic outcome, replay the scene, and make different choices until you've unlocked all four trophies. Max has two timelines, two potential love interests, and apparently unlimited opportunities to make things awkward.

Trophy: Loyal Flush
Helped timid guy get to the bathroom
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Help the timid student get access to the bathroom in Chapter 2: Penumbra. Location: Table for Three — Snapping Turtle After Safi and Yasmin leave the bar, you'll regain control of Max. Head outside to the patio opposite the bathrooms and speak with the two students standing there. Return inside and switch to the Dead World near the bathroom area. Then head back outside and use Max's eavesdropping ability to listen to the students' conversation. You'll discover they're planning a prank involving the bathroom keys. Go back inside and approach the bar. Find the bathroom keys hanging near the Employees Only door and take them. Switch to the Living World and place the keys on the corresponding hook. The trophy unlocks once you've returned the keys.
Tip
Make sure to overhear the students' conversation before moving the keys. Max may be investigating a murder, but apparently, preventing bathroom-related disasters is also part of her job description.

Trophy: Only Eyes for the Bad Boy
Romanced only Vinh
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Romance Vinh without romancing Amanda in Chapter 3: Spin. Location: Nobody Wants to Drink Alone — Snapping Turtle During this chapter, Max will have opportunities to spend time with both Amanda and Vinh. When speaking with Amanda after the Revenger Horse concert experience, avoid choosing the romantic option to kiss her. Next, find Vinh and start a conversation with him. You'll eventually play a game of Smash or Pass, where your answers won't affect the trophy. Continue the conversation until Vinh asks about himself. Choose the romantic option to kiss him. Finish the bar sequence having romanced Vinh but not Amanda to unlock the trophy.
Tip
Romancing Vinh is also useful for Frame Fatale, as it helps unlock a snapshot opportunity involving Reggie in Chapter 5. Apparently, Max's love life now requires its own investigation board.

Trophy: Putting the "Cap" in "Caper"
Successfully slipped Safi the bottle cap
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Successfully slip Safi a bottle cap during Chapter 1: Still Life. Location: Things Are Looking Up — Rooftop While spending time with Safi and Moses on the rooftop, speak with Moses to receive a bottle cap. Once you have it, approach Safi's chair and look for a box of sour candy sitting nearby. Pick up the candy box and rotate it until you find the opening. Select "Hide Bottlecap" to secretly place the bottle cap inside. Return the candy box, then approach Safi and start a conversation. When the dialogue option appears, choose "Want some candy?" Max will successfully pull off the prank, unlocking the trophy.
Tip
Before talking to Safi, take her optional snapshot for Frame Fatale. She leaves after the conversation, so capture the photo first. Nothing ruins a perfectly good prank quite like realizing it cost you another collectible.

Trophy: Romantically Disentangled
Romanced neither Amanda nor Vinh
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Avoid romancing both Amanda and Vinh in Chapter 3: Spin. Location: Nobody Wants to Drink Alone — Snapping Turtle During the bar sequence, Max will have opportunities to pursue romantic interactions with Amanda and Vinh. When speaking with Amanda, avoid choosing the romantic dialogue that leads to kissing her. Later, during your conversation with Vinh, decline the opportunity to kiss him as well. Finish the sequence without romancing either character to unlock the trophy.
Tip
You can earn this trophy through Chapter Select using Explore Scene, even if you pursued a relationship during your main playthrough. Sometimes the easiest romantic decision is deciding that solving a supernatural murder might be enough excitement for one evening.

Trophy: The Mail Gaze
Retrieved the package for Vinh
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Retrieve Vinh's package in Chapter 1: Still Life. Location: Back to School Blues — Administration Building After entering the Administration Building, look for Vinh sitting at his desk near Safi's memorial. Speak with him to learn that he's expecting a package. Once the conversation ends, follow the hallway past the student sitting on a bench and enter the open room on your left. Inside the mailroom, look for the mail bin on the shelving along the left wall. Examine the bin and retrieve Vinh's package. Return to Vinh and hand it over to unlock the trophy.
Tip
Completing this small favor is also required for Favor Saver in Chapter 2. Apparently, doing someone a favor at Caledon University comes with more strings attached than a student loan.
Warning
Don't skip this interaction if you're planning to earn Favor Saver during the same playthrough. You need to deliver Vinh's package before the later dialogue option becomes available.

Solve Reggie's mysterious puzzle box across Chapters 1 and 2. Chapter 1: Still Life — Back to School Blues While exploring campus, you'll witness Reggie throwing a puzzle box onto the ground. Pick up the box and speak with Reggie. Ask him about the puzzle to begin investigating it. Examine the box and complete the first sequence by interacting with the eye symbol, the founder's statue, and the bird. Return to the founder's statue side and place the bird into its corresponding position. This opens the first section of the box, but you won't be able to finish the puzzle yet. Chapter 2: Penumbra — Photo Finished When Max returns home, remain in the Dead World and head into the kitchen. Find the puzzle box resting on the counter and examine it again. Rotate the box to locate the sliding pieces and arrange them correctly to reveal a removable dial. Take the dial and place it into the larger dial mechanism on the Abraxas symbol side. Rotate both dials into their correct positions, then inspect the newly opened section. Remove the final lid to solve the puzzle and unlock the trophy.
Tip
The dial and slider puzzle is much easier to understand visually, so use the accompanying video to see the correct arrangement. Max can solve supernatural mysteries across parallel timelines, but apparently, a wooden box still deserves its own investigation.

Trophy: Thirst Trip
Watered both plants
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Water both plants in Chapter 2: Penumbra. Location 1: By the Horns — Gwen's Office (Dead World) While investigating Gwen's office, switch to the Dead World. Look for the aquarium inside the office and locate the small plant sitting beside it. Approach the plant and select the option to water it. Location 2: Photo Finished — Max's House (Living World) Later in Chapter 2, you'll return to Max's house. Switch to the Living World and look for the large plant in the corner of the living room. Approach the plant and water it to unlock the trophy.
Tip
Both plants must be watered during Chapter 2. Make sure you're in the correct timeline for each one. Apparently, keeping plants alive is still Max's responsibility, even when she's busy investigating a supernatural murder.

EARLY GAME
Welcome back, Max Caulfield! Our favorite time-bending photographer has traded Arcadia Bay for Caledon University, where a mysterious murder, two parallel timelines, and another collection of emotionally devastating decisions await. Apparently, Max's life wasn't complicated enough the first time around. This adventure replaces her familiar rewind ability with the power to shift between realities, giving you twice the places to investigate and twice the opportunities to forget what you were doing.
Your Platinum journey requires two complete playthroughs. During Chapter 1, while speaking with Safi at the Snapping Turtle, you'll be asked about Chloe. For your first playthrough, choose "She Died" to begin the Bay path. You'll eventually need to finish the entire game again with "We Broke Up" for the Bae path. Keep these runs in separate save slots, as overwriting your completed playthrough can interfere with the Bay or Bae trophy.
Make your first playthrough the thorough one. Collect Polaroids, investigate optional interactions, and begin working toward Frame Fatale, which requires 39 snapshots within a single playthrough. Also, plan ahead for Platypus Genius by signing up for Platypus Facts during Chapter 2. Some snapshots depend on decisions made several chapters earlier, so follow the individual trophy instructions carefully. Max can jump between realities, but unfortunately, she can't rewind a badly planned Platinum run.
MID GAME
As you progress through Chapters 2 and 3, you'll spend plenty of time switching between the Living and Dead Worlds to investigate Caledon's increasingly suspicious residents. Explore both timelines before advancing important conversations, because collectibles and optional interactions can appear in different places depending on which reality you're visiting. Keep an eye out for Polaroids, snapshots, staff books, decorations, and clues for Max's evidence collection. Being a photographer apparently wasn't enough; she's now running an unofficial detective agency.
Chapter 2 is particularly important for several multi-step trophies. Make sure you've delivered Vinh's package in Chapter 1 so you can save his favor later. Water both required plants, investigate the student projects, collect evidence, and begin receiving Platypus Facts messages. Read these messages as they arrive, since failing to keep up with them can cost you the trophy. For Be Great, Do Crime!, agree to cooperate with Detective Alderman, then later tell Moses you're not actually going to cooperate. Max's moral compass is getting quite the workout.
During Chapter 3, pay special attention to your relationships with Amanda and Vinh. The four romance trophies require every possible combination: Amanda only, Vinh only, both, and neither. Fortunately, these outcomes can be cleaned up using Chapter Select. For your main playthrough, romancing Vinh is a useful choice because it helps secure a later snapshot opportunity. Also, protect Gwen's USB evidence and continue the related conversations through Chapter 4 to keep her final snapshot available. Romance, investigations, and timeline management? Max desperately needs a vacation.
LATE GAME
Chapters 4 and 5 bring the mystery toward its conclusion, but don't let the increasingly dramatic story distract you from your remaining collectibles. Chapter 4 includes four Polaroids, several snapshots, another Platypus Facts message, and an opportunity to help Moses finish his gingerbread house. At the Krampus party, complete your optional interactions before pushing the main story forward. Most importantly, read all five Platypus Facts messages received up to that point before leaving the party, as earlier messages can become unavailable afterward.
Chapter 5 contains the final three Polaroids and a large collection of snapshot opportunities. Frame Fatale deserves special attention here because certain photographs depend on earlier choices. Reggie's appearance in the final chapter is affected by your romance and party decisions, while Gwen's final photograph requires following her evidence-related storyline across multiple chapters. The trophy has also been reported as unreliable, so carefully complete all 39 required snapshots on the same save rather than assuming you can combine progress between playthroughs.
Once you've completed your first playthrough and secured the important collectibles, begin your second run in a separate save slot. This time, tell Safi "We Broke Up" during Chapter 1 to follow the Bae path. You can concentrate on the main story and any remaining objectives, since you've already handled the more demanding collectible work. Complete all five chapters again to satisfy Bay or Bae. Yes, one conversation near the beginning really does require another entire playthrough. Somewhere, Max is wondering why she ever gave up rewinding time.
TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS
After your first playthrough, use Chapter Select to clean up missed Polaroids, optional interactions, and romance outcomes before starting the second run. There are 20 Polaroids scattered across the five chapters, and these can be collected through Explore Scene without restarting the entire story. Be careful when choosing replay options: Explore Scene preserves your existing story progress, while Restart Scene can overwrite later progression. Some trophies involving connected choices or ongoing collectible tracking may require proper story progression rather than isolated scene visits.
Prioritize Frame Fatale and Platypus Genius instead of leaving them for casual cleanup. Snapshots must be completed within a single playthrough, and the Platypus Facts messages have specific sign-up and reading requirements. If you're missing an important decision-dependent snapshot, you may need to replay a significant portion of the story. Frame Fatale has known reports of failing to unlock even after the required photographs are taken, so don't assume a replay will automatically solve every issue. The optional Exclusive Cat Content DLC is not required for the Platinum, and there are no online trophies or difficulty restrictions.
With two complete playthroughs and some cleanup, expect approximately 15–30 hours depending on how thoroughly you explore and whether any trophies give you trouble. Once you've completed both Chloe-history paths and earned every base-game trophy, Picture Perfect will unlock. Congratulations! You've solved a supernatural mystery, survived a university full of secrets, and taken enough photographs to fill several extremely concerning family albums. Max deserves a break. Preferably somewhere with only one timeline.
