Nioh 2 Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME

Nioh 2 hits hard at the beginning, so your first job is simple: get comfortable with the combat and find a weapon that actually clicks with you. Try different weapon types instead of locking yourself into the first thing that looks cool. The early game is one of the tougher parts of the journey, but things become much more manageable as your character, gear, and understanding of the combat improve.

The good news for trophy hunters is that nothing is missable. Missions can be replayed, so you don't need to crawl through every level terrified that you just walked past the Platinum. Still, keep an eye out for Kodama, hot springs, Dark Realm areas, and other collectibles while progressing. Finding Kodama is especially useful because their blessings provide helpful bonuses and collecting them increases your maximum Elixir capacity.

Work through side missions as they appear rather than rushing only through the main story. They reward you with useful gear, gestures, Guardian Spirits, and additional experience that can make the next main mission easier. Most trophies will come naturally, so enjoy the game instead of treating every mission like a checklist. If a mission starts turning you into a punching bag, you can also play through Expeditions or summon visitors with Ochoko Cups.

MID GAME

Once you have settled on a favorite weapon and your build starts taking shape, keep progressing through the main and side missions across the game's regions. Continue collecting Kodama and using every hot spring you find, and make sure you clear the Dark Realm sections in the main missions. Doing these naturally now will save you from having to revisit a pile of levels later.

You should also start thinking about weapon proficiency, but there is no reason to grind every weapon yet. The Platinum eventually requires Mystic Arts for each required weapon type, along with Ninjutsu and Onmyo Magic, so occasionally experimenting with different weapons can give you a small head start. Your main priority should still be progressing through the game with whatever setup makes the combat most comfortable.

Keep completing side content as you go. Besides making you stronger, this helps build toward completing all required missions and collecting the Guardian Spirits. If you get stuck on a mission, boss, collectible, or trophy requirement, Ask Gami rather than spending an hour running around the same Yokai-infested hallway wondering what you missed.

LATE GAME

As you approach the end of the story, finish any remaining side missions that are available and keep cleaning up collectibles you encounter naturally. You don't need to worry about a permanent point of no return for the Platinum because missions remain replayable after completion.

Finishing the story unlocks New Game Plus and Divine Gear, which is where the proficiency grind becomes much easier. Instead of forcing yourself to master every weapon during your first playthrough, you can use stronger equipment and later missions to build proficiency much faster.

For the Mystic Art trophies, you will eventually need 120,000 pro
