Missable
PS5PS4
Trophy: One Slick Super-spy
Use only the EMF Visualizer to complete Ada's gameplay segment.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
Complete Ada’s gameplay segment using only the EMF Visualizer. You must not fire her handgun or use any sub-weapons at any point during her section. Keep the EMF Visualizer equipped and focus on movement and positioning to avoid enemies rather than fighting them. Most threats can be bypassed by timing your runs and using the environment. As long as you finish the segment without attacking, the trophy unlocks at the end.

Trophy: Young Escapee
Escape the bedroom within 60 seconds during Sherry's segment.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
Escape the bedroom during Sherry’s orphanage segment in under 60 seconds. You need to solve the puzzle, grab the scissors, cut the wall covering, and climb out before the timer runs out. The puzzle layout is randomized, but you can safely practice it. Solve the puzzle once while paying attention to the block positions, then quit and continue. The layout stays the same, letting you clear the room quickly on the next attempt without pressure.

Collectible
PS5PS4
Trophy: Complete Vermin Extermination
Destroy all Mr. Raccoons.
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Destroy every Mr. Raccoon figure. These small collectibles are hidden throughout all scenarios and break instantly when shot. You must destroy all of them to unlock the trophy, and missing even one will prevent it from popping. If you explore carefully and shoot each figure as you find it, this will come together naturally over multiple runs.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/bIHRMNnpe90
Trophy: Lore Explorer
Read all of the files.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Read every file in the game. Files are scattered across all scenarios, and the trophy unlocks once each unique file has been opened at least once. Files are permanently recorded the moment you read them, so progress carries across playthroughs and scenarios. Take time to check desks, shelves, and side rooms as you explore, and make sure to open every document you pick up. Skipping optional areas is the easiest way to miss this.
Trophy: Master of Unlocking
Open all of the safes and locks in the game.
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Open every safe and combination lock in the game. This includes all dial safes and all portable combination locks found across the Police Station and Sewers. Most of these are tied to upgrades, so you will already be looking for them during normal play. Make sure you actually open each one yourself rather than skipping areas, since leaving even a single safe or lock unopened will stop the trophy from unlocking.
Trophy: Treasure Hunter
Using the photo hints, find 2 hidden items.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Find both hidden items using the photo hints. To do this, pick up the roll film in the Sewers Workroom and bring it back to the Dark Room in the Police Station to develop it. Once the photos are revealed, they point to two specific locations. One item is in the S.T.A.R.S. Office on 2F and the other is in the Press Room on 1F. Collect both items shown in the photos and the trophy unlocks. If you never develop the film or grab the items before moving too far ahead, this can be missed.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/CWLZNQamq9Q
Trophy: Vermin Extermination
Destroy a Mr. Raccoon.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
Destroy a Mr. Raccoon by shooting it. These small collectible figures are hidden in various locations and break instantly when hit. You only need to destroy one for this trophy, so keep an eye out as you explore and shoot the first one you see. If you miss all of them in a playthrough, the trophy will not unlock.
Grind
PS5PS4
Trophy: A Small Carbon Footprint
Take 14000 steps or fewer in one playthrough.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Finish a playthrough with 14,000 steps or fewer. Your step count is tracked automatically and can be checked in the Records menu at any time. This is best done on Assisted difficulty while following a clean, direct route with minimal backtracking. Focus only on required objectives, stagger enemies instead of fighting them, and resist the urge to detour for optional items. If you move with purpose and keep revisits to a minimum, this often unlocks naturally during efficient runs.
Trophy: Frugalist
Complete the game without using a recovery item.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Complete the game without using a single recovery item. This includes herbs, sprays, and anything else that restores health. This is much easier than it sounds if you do it on Assisted difficulty and use any infinite ammo weapons you have unlocked. Play cautiously, avoid unnecessary damage, and do not panic heal if you get clipped. As long as you finish the run without ever using a recovery item, the trophy will unlock at the end.
Trophy: Minimalist
Clear the game without opening the item box.
Type: Silver
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
Complete the game without opening the item box even once. You must manage everything you carry without storing or retrieving items. Assisted difficulty makes this much more manageable thanks to health regeneration and lower enemy pressure. Focus on carrying only what you need, use items until they can be discarded, and stagger enemies instead of trying to clear rooms. As long as you never interact with the item box from start to finish, the trophy will unlock at the end of the run.
Combat
PS5PS4
Trophy: Bon Appétit
Shoot the grenade you fed to an enemy.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Shoot a grenade after feeding it to an enemy. Let an enemy grab you while a grenade or flash grenade is equipped as your sub-weapon, then break free so the grenade is lodged in their mouth. Once the grenade is visible, aim and shoot it before it explodes on its own. Zombies are the easiest targets since they move slowly and give you plenty of time. You will have multiple chances, but if you never shoot the grenade before it detonates, this trophy can be missed.
Trophy: Customizer
Customize a weapon.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Customize a weapon by combining it with a weapon part. Weapon parts are found naturally as you progress, most often inside safes, and the trophy unlocks the first time you successfully combine one. The earliest opportunity is in the Police Station West Office on 1F, where Leon’s desk can give you a weapon part during an A scenario. As soon as you pick up any part, combine it with the matching weapon and the trophy is yours.
Trophy: Don't Need No Stinkin' Gun
Defeat an enemy with a knife.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat any enemy using only the knife. The kill must be finished with the knife for the trophy to unlock. The easiest way is to use the knife on one of the early zombies that is already lying on the ground, since they have very low health and cannot grab you easily. You will have multiple chances throughout the game, but if you rely entirely on guns and never finish an enemy with the knife, this one can slip by.
Trophy: Eat This!
Counterattack with a sub-weapon.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Counter an enemy grab using a sub-weapon. When an enemy catches you and you have a knife, grenade, or flash grenade equipped, use the counter input to break free and the trophy will unlock immediately. This almost always happens naturally early on, especially if you keep the knife you are given and let a zombie grab you once. It is technically missable only if you unequip every sub-weapon and never pick up another one, which is very unlikely during normal play.
Trophy: Gotcha!
Defeat Stage 2 G using the crane only once.
Type: Silver
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat the second G fight by using the crane only once. You must weaken G enough so that a single crane hit finishes the fight. As soon as the fight starts, activate the crane right away, then focus all of your damage on the large eye on his arm while staying alive. Stagger him as often as possible and keep pressure on until the crane returns. When it hits him the second time, the fight must end or the trophy will fail. This is much easier on Assisted difficulty since G takes more damage and staggers faster.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/PFb8RYTZBqM
Trophy: Grim Reaper
Complete The 4th Survivor extra mode.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Complete The 4th Survivor extra mode. This mode unlocks after finishing any B scenario and puts you in control of Hunk as you fight your way from the sewers back to the Police Station. Success comes from memorization and smart resource use rather than speed. Plan each room, know when to fight and when to run, and expect to die a few times while learning the route. Once the path clicks and you stay calm under pressure, the mode becomes very manageable and the trophy will follow.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/k3PRhFIGJw0
Trophy: Hats Off!
Shoot Tyrant's hat off his head.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Shoot the Tyrant’s hat off his head. This can be done shortly after he is introduced in the Police Station during an A scenario, once he begins roaming the building. Aim for his head and fire a few steady shots until the hat flies off. He moves slowly and gives you plenty of time, so do not rush it. Once the hat is gone, the trophy unlocks immediately. If you defeat him later without doing this, the opportunity is lost.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/aIr5U9omk_I
Trophy: In the Blink of an Eye
Defeat Super Tyrant with 5 or more minutes left until detonation.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat Super Tyrant with more than five minutes left on the detonation timer at the end of Leon’s A scenario. Stay aggressive and keep circling the arena while landing shots to his chest to trigger the final phase quickly. Once you deal enough damage, finish him with the rocket launcher to end the fight immediately. The faster you push the fight forward, the safer this trophy becomes.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/w7YchszV5_0
Trophy: Keep Their Heads Ringin'
Paralyze a licker's sense of hearing.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Disrupt a licker’s hearing using a flash grenade. You can do this by throwing a flash grenade near a licker or by countering a grab while one is equipped. The earliest opportunity is in the Police Station 2F West Storage Room, shortly after solving the Maiden Statue puzzle. Use a flash once and the trophy unlocks instantly. While you will see multiple lickers during the game, skipping every chance to flash one can cause this trophy to be missed.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/gu1coCfvBgs
Trophy: Like Skeet Shooting
Shoot a zombie dog or a licker out of the air.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Shoot a zombie dog or a licker while it is airborne during an attack. The shot must land while the enemy is mid-jump. Zombie dogs are the safer option since they always leap when attacking and do much less damage if you miss. Wait for the jump, aim center mass, and fire as they leave the ground. Lickers also work, but they are riskier and faster, so dogs are strongly recommended for a clean unlock.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/X9VrJcP4l-g
Trophy: With Time to Spare
Defeat Stage 4 G with 4 or more minutes left until detonation.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Defeat Stage 4 G with more than four minutes remaining on the detonation timer. This takes place at the end of Claire’s A scenario on the train. Focus your damage on the exposed eyes on his chest and keep moving around the train to avoid getting slowed down. Use your strongest weapons and the minigun from the room before the fight to end it fast. Wasting time shooting other body parts can easily cost you the trophy.
Video Guide: https://www.youtube.com/embed/u5MRZSriuqo
Trophy: Zombie Roundup
Kill 3 enemies at once with a sub-weapon.
Type: Bronze
Category: Combat
How to Unlock
Kill three enemies at the same time using a sub-weapon explosion. This is easiest with a grenade since it has a wide blast radius and consistent damage. A reliable opportunity is at the start of any B scenario, where several zombies gather just outside the first room and you can find a grenade immediately. Lure them close together, throw the grenade, and make sure all three are caught in the blast. If you never line up three enemies for a single explosion, this trophy can be missed.
Ending
PS5PS4
Trophy: A Hero Emerges
Complete Leon's story.
Type: Silver
Category: Ending
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after completing Leon’s full campaign. Finish the final boss encounter and escape sequence to see the ending for Leon’s story. Once the credits begin after the final sequence the trophy will unlock automatically. Difficulty does not matter, so completing the run on Assisted is a valid option if you want an easier playthrough.
Trophy: A Heroine Emerges
Complete Claire's story.
Type: Silver
Category: Ending
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after completing Claire’s full campaign. Progress through the laboratory section, defeat the final boss, and finish the escape sequence to reach the ending. After the final cutscene and credits begin the trophy will unlock automatically. As with Leon’s campaign, the trophy can be earned on any difficulty including Assisted.
Trophy: Broken Umbrella
Witness the true ending.
Type: Silver
Category: Ending
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after witnessing the true ending of the game. To access the true ending you must complete a second run scenario, often called the B scenario or 2nd Run, with either Leon or Claire. After finishing your first playthrough the opposite character’s 2nd Run becomes available from the main menu. Complete the full story again in this scenario and reach the final sequence to trigger the true ending and unlock the trophy.
Misc
PS5PS4
Trophy: A Vault-like Mind
Open a portable safe.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Open any portable safe. These small safes require you to press a rotating button sequence, and the trophy unlocks as soon as one is opened. Both portable safes are found in the Police Station. One is in the Shower Room on 2F, with a different placement during B scenarios, and the other is in the Linen Room on 2F. Open either one and you are done.
Trophy: A Waist of Space
Expand inventory slots to max.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Expand your inventory slots to the maximum by collecting all six hip pouches in a single playthrough. Each pouch permanently increases your inventory size. All six pouches must be collected, and this cannot be done on Hardcore since only three pouches exist on that difficulty. As long as you explore thoroughly and return for locked areas later, this will unlock naturally. Missing even one pouch in the run will prevent the trophy from unlocking.
Trophy: First Break-In
Open a dial safe.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Open a dial safe. These are the larger metal safes with a rotating number dial, and opening just one is enough for the trophy. Several dial safes appear naturally in the Police Station and other areas, and you will almost certainly open at least one while exploring for upgrades. As long as you interact with and open a dial safe during a playthrough, this will unlock.
Trophy: Hardcore College Student
Complete Claire's story on Hardcore difficulty.
Type: Gold
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Complete Claire’s story on Hardcore difficulty. You only need to finish the run, there is no rank or time requirement tied to this trophy. Hardcore is tougher across the board with stronger enemies, limited saves, and fewer inventory slots, so planning matters. Use ammo to create space instead of clearing rooms, pick your fights carefully, and manage ink ribbons so you always have a safe save before risky sections. If you stay calm and play deliberately, this is more about endurance than perfection.
Trophy: Hardcore Rookie
Complete Leon's story on Hardcore difficulty.
Type: Gold
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after completing Leon’s campaign on Hardcore difficulty. Hardcore mode makes enemies tougher, reduces available resources, and limits how often you can save your progress. Finish Leon’s full story on Hardcore and complete the final escape sequence to unlock the trophy. This can be done in either the first run or the second run scenario as long as the difficulty is set to Hardcore.
Trophy: Hip to Add Squares
Increase your inventory slots.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Increase your inventory slots by picking up any hip pouch. There are six total in the game, and the trophy unlocks the moment you collect your first one. The earliest pouch can be found in the Police Station West Office on 1F, inside a safe during an A scenario. This is very hard to miss if you explore normally, but it is technically possible if you somehow avoid every pouch. Grab the first one you see and you will never have to think about this trophy again.
Trophy: Leon "S." Kennedy
Complete Leon's story on Standard or Hardcore with an S rank.
Type: Gold
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Finish Leon’s story on Standard or Hardcore with an S rank. The rank is based on clear time only, so you need to reach the ending fast enough for the scenario you picked. For Standard, you need 3 hours 30 minutes or better in A, and 3 hours or better in B. For Hardcore, you need 2 hours 30 minutes or better in A, and 2 hours or better in B. Play to the objectives and do not treat every hallway like a shooting gallery. Stagger zombies and run past, skip side trips that do not give you real speed value, and pause to plan since the timer does not tick while paused. If you die, load your save instead of using a restart option that can mess with your run timing.
Trophy: Sizzling Scarlet Hero
Complete Claire's story on Standard or Hardcore with an S rank.
Type: Gold
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Finish Claire’s story on Standard or Hardcore with an S rank. The only thing that matters is your clear time. For Standard, you need 3 hours 30 minutes or better in A, and 3 hours or better in B. For Hardcore, you need 2 hours 30 minutes or better in A, and 2 hours or better in B. The clean way to do this is to stay focused and keep movement constant. Use your ammo to create space, not to wipe rooms, and keep your routing simple so you are not backtracking for extras. Pause whenever you need to think, and when you die, load your save so your time stays honest and your run stays on pace.
Trophy: That'll Hold 'Em
Use Wooden Boards to board up a window.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
Use wooden boards to barricade a window in the Police Station. Pick up any wooden board and interact with a ground floor window to secure it. Boards are scattered around the station and are meant to be used early, so this should come naturally if you explore. It becomes missable once you leave the Police Station for good, so make sure to board up at least one window before progressing too far.
Trophy: The Basics of Survival
Combine two items together.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks the first time you combine two items in your inventory. You can combine different herbs together or mix gunpowder types to create ammunition. Open your inventory, select one item, and choose the combine option with another compatible item. As soon as the items successfully combine the trophy will unlock automatically.
Story
PS5PS4
Trophy: A Great Need for a Shower
Escape from the sewers.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks when you escape the sewers and progress to the next major area of the game. After completing the sewer puzzles and boss encounter you will eventually reach the cable car platform. Activate the cable car and ride it to the NEST laboratory facility. The trophy will unlock automatically once the cable car departs the sewer area.
Trophy: Hack Complete
Complete Ada's segment.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after completing Ada Wong’s playable segment during Leon’s campaign. After leaving the police station Leon and Ada become separated and you will briefly control Ada as she navigates a restricted area. Finish this short section using the EMF Visualizer to progress through doors and machinery. Once Ada’s segment ends and control returns to Leon the trophy will unlock automatically.
Trophy: Hide and Seek
Complete Sherry's segment.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This story trophy unlocks during Claire’s campaign after solving the puzzle in the Chief’s Office and restoring power with both electronic parts. Shortly after this section you will briefly take control of Sherry. During this segment you must escape from the orphanage while avoiding the Chief. Complete the stealth section and reach safety to finish Sherry’s segment, which will unlock the trophy automatically.
Trophy: Never-Ending Rain
Escape the police station.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This story trophy unlocks when you escape the police station and reach the parking garage area. After progressing through the police station and solving several puzzles you will eventually obtain the parking garage key card. Use the key card in the garage to open the security gate and leave the police station. The trophy will unlock immediately after escaping the building.
Trophy: Path to the Goddess
Solve the Goddess Statue puzzle.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This trophy unlocks after solving the Goddess Statue puzzle in the main hall of the Raccoon City Police Department. To complete the puzzle you must collect three medallions from the Lion, Unicorn, and Maiden statues located around the station. Each statue requires entering the correct symbol combination in its puzzle panel. Once all three medallions are placed into the Goddess Statue in the main hall the secret passage will open and the trophy will unlock.
Trophy: Welcome to the City of the Dead
Make it to the police station.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This story trophy unlocks when you reach the Raccoon City Police Department for the first time. Early in the game you will navigate through the city streets while avoiding zombies and making your way toward the police station entrance. After entering the police station lobby the trophy will unlock automatically. This happens in both Leon and Claire campaigns so it cannot be missed.
Resident Evil 2 Remake Trophy Roadmap
Early Game
Your journey begins with Leon or Claire arriving in the middle of Raccoon City's zombie outbreak. The opening sections guide you through the gas station and the first steps toward the Raccoon City Police Department, which quickly becomes the main hub of the early game. Take your time exploring the police station because this area is full of puzzles, locked doors, and shortcuts that slowly open as you find keys and tools.
This part of the game teaches the core survival mechanics like managing ammo, combining herbs, and deciding when to fight or simply run past enemies. One helpful tip early on is to avoid killing every zombie you see. Ammo is limited and sometimes the smartest move is to stun enemies with a quick headshot and move past them.
The main goal here is collecting the three medallions needed to open the secret passage beneath the police station. If you ever find yourself wandering the halls wondering where to go next, don’t worry, everyone gets lost in the RPD on their first run. You can always Ask Gami for a quick hint and get right back to surviving the outbreak.
Mid Game
Once you escape the police station the game opens up new areas including the parking garage and the sewer system beneath the city. These sections introduce tougher enemies and a few more complicated puzzles, so take a moment to explore and gather supplies before rushing forward.
Inventory management becomes more important here. You will start finding stronger weapons and upgrades, but space in your inventory is limited, so expanding it whenever possible makes a huge difference. A good tip during this section is to keep at least one healing item on you at all times because enemies can deal heavy damage if you get cornered.
During the mid game you will also encounter short story segments where you briefly control another character. These moments are fairly short but have a few optional trophies tied to them, so it is worth paying attention to what the objective is while playing through them.
Late Game
The final section of the game takes place in the NEST laboratory facility where the story reaches its conclusion. This area features several puzzles involving laboratory terminals and chemical solutions, along with some of the tougher enemy encounters in the game.
Before pushing deeper into the lab, make sure your inventory is prepared with strong weapons, ammo, and healing items. A small tip here is to save powerful ammo like magnum rounds for late encounters instead of using them earlier on basic enemies.
As you approach the end of the game you will face the final battles and the escape sequence. Stay calm during these moments and focus on learning attack patterns instead of rushing damage. It might feel intense, but once you understand the rhythm of the fights the ending becomes much more manageable.
Trophy Cleanup and Extra Tips
Resident Evil 2 Remake requires several playthroughs for the Platinum trophy, which actually works in your favor because each run becomes faster as you learn the layout of the game. After finishing your first playthrough you will unlock the second run scenario, which reveals the true ending and opens the path toward many of the remaining trophies.
Many trophies involve special challenge runs such as limited saves, no healing items, or completing the game under specific conditions. These might sound intimidating at first, but once you know the routes through the police station and other areas they become much easier than expected. Think of them as skill runs rather than impossible challenges.
If you ever get stuck on puzzles, collectibles, or tricky trophies, remember you can Ask Gami while playing to get quick answers without digging through long guides. A little guidance can save a lot of wandering through zombie filled hallways, and sometimes that is exactly what you need to keep the platinum hunt fun.
