The Casting of Frank Stone Trophy Guide
Platinum
Trophy: The Creator
Collected all trophies.
Type: Platinum

How to Unlock
Unlock every other trophy in the game to earn this automatically. Nothing special required beyond full completion.
Missable
Trophy: Entity Displeased
Everyone survived.
Type: Gold
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
This trophy requires all five playable characters, Madison, Jaime, Chris, Sam, and Linda, to survive until the end of the game. The safest way to approach this is to play on Observer difficulty to make QTEs easier and always succeed them unless specifically noted. Throughout the game, always fight off Frank Stone using the camera when given the option, as failing these moments often leads to character deaths. In Chapter 5, choose Flee near the end to prevent Jaime from dying. In Chapter 8 while playing as Linda, choose the Diary instead of the Pouch so Sam keeps access to his gun later. In Chapter 10 as Chris, choose Hopeful and successfully complete all QTEs to send her back to 1980 safely, which also avoids an earlier death opportunity for Stan. Keeping Stan alive up to Chapter 14 is important because Frank Stone will always absorb someone, and if Stan is alive he will be taken instead of a playable character. In Chapter 12 as Madi, do not keep the pendant, as wearing it guarantees her death later. Either leave it behind or give it to someone else by choosing Indifferent. In Chapter 14, select Accuse Augustine, fail the following QTE, then choose Back Away. Later while playing as Linda, choose to Help Madi. When controlling Madi after reuniting with Sam, choose Furious and then Flee. At the start of Chapter 14 when Frank Stone emerges, make sure Stan is alive and intentionally fail the button mash QTE so Frank Stone takes him instead of one of your main characters. From there, continue to successfully complete all remaining QTEs and make safe, non-aggressive choices when possible. If everything is done correctly, all five playable characters will survive through the ending and the trophy will unlock after the credits.
Trophy: Friendly Fire
Sam shot Madi.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
This requires multiple setup choices across the game. In Chapter 2 as Madi, accept Augustine’s drink. In Chapter 8 as Linda, do not take Sam’s gun when he collapses. In Chapter 12 as Madi, choose to keep the pendant. In Chapter 14, save Stan or whoever Frank Stone grabs first. This sequence causes Madi to become hypnotized and walk toward Frank Stone. When playing as Sam, you will get a choice to shoot. Aim at Madi and fire to unlock the trophy. This conflicts with Phagocytosis, so both must be done separately or through cleanup.
Trophy: It's All in the Reflexes
Succeeded 10 Great Skill Checks.
Type: Silver
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
This requires performing ten great skill checks, which means hitting the tighter white portion of the timing zone instead of the larger standard area. These can be done across multiple chapters, so you do not need to do them all at once. The key is to press the button slightly before the red line reaches the white section to compensate for input delay. Observer difficulty helps by giving you more time to react, making it easier to consistently aim for the smaller window. Keep focusing on precision rather than speed, and once you successfully land ten great skill checks, the trophy will unlock.
Trophy: Merciless Killer
Madison, Jaime, Chris, Sam and Linda were killed.
Type: Silver
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
You need all five playable characters, Madison, Jaime, Chris, Sam, and Linda, to die in a single playthrough. There are many ways this can happen, but the easiest approach is to deliberately fail key QTEs and make risky or aggressive choices throughout the game. You do not need to use every possible death, only ensure that each character dies at least once before the ending. In Chapter 5, Jaime can die if you confront Frank Stone without having the firecrackers, resulting in him being killed while trying to save Chris. Alternatively, he can die later in Chapter 13 if you fail to fend off Frank Stone while he is hooked. For Madi, she can die in Chapter 8 by failing the button mash QTE during the horologium sequence, or later in Chapter 14 during the chase if you make the wrong choices or fail to escape. Chris has multiple outcomes, including a failed return to 1980 in Chapter 10, being killed in Chapter 13 if you fail to protect her, or dying in Chapter 14 if she interacts with the mirror after specific earlier choices. Sam can die in Chapter 13 if you fail to defend yourself against Frank Stone in the storm drain, or in Chapter 14 if you fail QTEs while trying to save others. Linda can die in Chapter 13 if you fail the final camera sequence, or in Chapter 14 depending on whether you abandon Madi or fail during the chase. In Chapter 14, Frank Stone will also absorb one character no matter what, which can count as a death for this trophy depending on your setup. Madi, Sam, Linda, Chris, or Stan can all be taken depending on your earlier choices, so you can use this to secure one of the required deaths. Be aware that timeline differences matter, as Sam and Linda exist in both 1980 and 2024, and only their deaths in 2024 count toward this trophy. Jaime only dies in 1980, Madi only dies in 2024, and Chris can die in either timeline. As long as all five playable characters are dead by the end of the playthrough, the trophy will unlock after the credits.
Trophy: Nothing Personal
Shot Augustine.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
This requires setup in Chapter 8 and completion in Chapter 14. In Chapter 8 while playing as Linda, choose to take Sam’s pouch instead of the diary, pass the skill check, and then choose to keep the gun. Later in Chapter 14 after repairing the generator and entering the elevator as Linda, choose to go down. This leads to a confrontation with Augustine where you will need to aim and shoot her to unlock the trophy. Missing the earlier setup will prevent this from being possible, so you may need to replay via the Cutting Room Floor if required.
Trophy: Phagocytosis
Madi was hypnotised and absorbed by Frank Stone.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
Follow the same setup steps as Friendly Fire across Chapters 2, 8, 12, and 14 to ensure Madi becomes hypnotized. At the final choice in Chapter 14 while playing as Sam, aim at Frank Stone instead of Madi and shoot. This will result in Madi being absorbed, unlocking the trophy. Since this directly conflicts with Friendly Fire, you will need to replay the sequence or use the Cutting Room Floor to obtain both.
Trophy: Power of Two
Maximised Jaime and Chris' relationship.
Type: Bronze
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
This spans Chapters 3 and 5 and requires consistently choosing options that strengthen Jaime and Chris’ relationship. In Chapter 3, break free from the chair in time, then choose Defiant followed by Compliant while playing as Jaime. When deciding where to go first, visit the Pharmacy before the store. While playing as Chris in the Pharmacy, choose Encouraging, then later in the store choose Compliant. In Chapter 5 while in the Machine Shop as Jaime, choose Impatient during the conversation with Robert. Later during Jaime and Chris’ argument, choose Apprehensive followed by Appreciative. Making all of these choices will maximize their relationship and unlock the trophy. If you miss any steps, you can replay from Chapter 3 using the Cutting Room Floor.
Trophy: Skills? Check!
Succeeded 5 Skill Checks in a row.
Type: Silver
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
You need to successfully complete five standard skill checks in a row without failing. These appear as circular QTEs where a red line spins toward a target zone, and you must press the button as it reaches the marked area. These show up throughout multiple chapters, so you will naturally encounter plenty of opportunities. Focus on timing your input as the red line reaches the highlighted section of the circle and avoid rushing or hesitating. Playing on Observer difficulty makes these much easier by slowing down the timing window. As long as you land five consecutive successful inputs without missing one, the trophy will unlock.
Trophy: Tinkerer
Repaired all generators.
Type: Silver
Category: Missable
How to Unlock
You need to repair all three generators found in Chapters 5, 7, and 14. The Chapter 5 generator is part of the story and cannot be missed, but the other two require careful play. In Chapter 7, make sure you are not caught by Frank Stone while escaping as Linda or you will miss the chance to repair it. In Chapter 14, repair the generator quickly before Frank Stone interrupts and kills the character. All required parts are located near each generator, so search the immediate area before starting repairs. If you miss any, you can replay specific chapters later using the Cutting Room Floor.
Collectible
Trophy: Bad Dog
Found Merlin's collar.
Type: Bronze
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
This is found in Chapter 9 while playing as Linda. After completing the boiler room steam puzzle, head downstairs and go through the next door to progress. Immediately turn right through the open fence gate and check the back right corner to find Merlin’s collar and unlock the trophy.

Trophy: That Belongs in a Museum
Collected all Artifacts.
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock
There are 30 artifacts in total, divided into three categories: The Storyteller, The Champion, and Murder Mill, with 10 artifacts in each set. You need to collect all 30 across the game to unlock this trophy. These are found throughout multiple chapters, usually during exploration sections and often slightly off the main path. Make sure to fully explore each area before progressing, as some are easy to miss if you move forward too quickly. Most can be cleaned up after finishing the game by replaying chapters using the Cutting Room Floor. The only notable exception tied to overall collectible tracking is the dog collar in Chapter 9, which is required separately for Bad Dog, so make sure not to skip it during your run.
Trophy: The Champion
Collected all The Champion artifacts.
Type: Silver
Category: Collectible
How to Unlock

Grind
Trophy: All Seeing
Unlocked every branch in the Cutting Room Floor.
Type: Gold
Category: Grind
How to Unlock
This is the most time-consuming trophy in the game and requires you to unlock every possible choice branch in the Cutting Room Floor, which becomes available after completing your first full playthrough. Each chapter contains multiple branching paths tied to dialogue choices, QTE outcomes, item decisions, and character interactions. Any undiscovered branch will appear as a question mark, and your goal is to reveal all of them. This means you must replay chapters multiple times and intentionally choose different dialogue options, fail and succeed QTEs, accept or refuse items, and explore alternate outcomes. For example, in Chapter 1 alone you need to both pass and fail key QTEs to unlock different outcomes for Sam, while in Chapter 2 you must both pick up and ignore the hitchhiker to reveal separate branches. This pattern continues throughout the entire game, with many chapters requiring multiple replays to uncover every variation. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0} The most efficient approach is to use the Cutting Room Floor system itself to replay specific chapters rather than restarting the entire game each time. Keep manual saves at key branching moments, especially in Chapters 1, 3, 5, 8, and 10, where many decisions split into multiple paths. You will often need to revisit the same scene several times to explore all outcomes, such as accepting and rejecting bribes, taking different routes, or intentionally failing sequences. Some branches are tied to very specific conditions, like failing a single skill check or making a combination of earlier choices that affect later chapters. There are also multiple endings tied to these branches, so expect to see a wide range of outcomes as you progress. Be aware that this trophy has been reported as buggy, particularly involving a dialogue branch in Chapter 5 where Jaime confesses feelings for Linda. Even if you meet the requirements, it may not always register correctly, so you may need to retry certain paths. Because of this, it is strongly recommended to systematically track which branches you have already unlocked and focus on missing ones rather than replaying blindly. With careful planning, repeated use of chapter select, and deliberate choice variation, you will eventually reveal every branch and unlock the trophy.

Misc
Trophy: 8 Bit Hero
Got the high score on the arcade machine.
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 3 while trying to fix the camera. You will visit the Pharmacy regardless of your earlier choice, so you cannot miss access to the arcade machine. Head to the back right corner of the Pharmacy and interact with the machine. Play until you reach a score of 5,000 by destroying enemies. If you fall short, you can immediately retry as many times as needed until you hit the required score and unlock the trophy.
Trophy: Easy Money
Jaime accepted the bribe from Sam.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 3, but it requires a specific setup starting from Chapter 1. During the opening confrontation with Frank Stone, intentionally fail all QTEs as Sam so he does not stop him. This shifts Sam’s behavior later and makes the bribe opportunity possible. In Chapter 3 while filming, choose Defiant, then Compliant, then Reluctant during Jaime’s dialogue sequence with Sam. After the camera is broken, Sam will offer a bribe and you must accept it to unlock the trophy. This choice conflicts with Five Finger Discount, so you will need to replay Chapter 3 using the Cutting Room Floor to get both.
Trophy: Escape Artist
Freed Jaime from the hook.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 13 while playing as Sam. After entering the storm drain and finding Bonnie’s body, continue forward and vault over the wall near your first encounter with Frank Stone. If Jaime is still alive, you will find him hooked on the wall further down the path. When attempting to free him, Frank Stone will appear and you must use the camera to fend him off. Successfully doing this will scare him away and give you time to unhook Jaime, unlocking the trophy. This conflicts with Memento Mori, where Jaime must die, so both trophies will need to be done in separate playthroughs or via cleanup.
Trophy: Five Finger Discount
Jaime stole money from Bonnie.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 3 after returning to Jaime’s house. During the garage scene, choose Jovial, then Shocked, then Serious while talking to Bonnie. This will upset her and cause her to storm out, leaving her purse behind. You will then get the option to steal money from it, which you must do to unlock the trophy. This choice is locked out if you previously accepted Sam’s bribe earlier in the chapter, so you will need to use the Cutting Room Floor to replay Chapter 3 and choose the opposite path if needed.
Trophy: Lumpkin and Livin'
Learned that Tom stopped drinking due to Sam's kindness.
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This requires a setup in Chapter 1 and a follow-up in Chapter 5. While playing as Sam before entering the storm drain, choose Reassuring when talking to Tom, or choose Stern followed by Scornful to achieve the same result. Later in Chapter 5 while in Jaime’s garage, find and play the tape near Robert and Chris. If you made the correct earlier choice, the recording will reveal that Tom stopped drinking because of Sam, unlocking the trophy. If not, you will hear an alternate version instead and will need to replay for the correct outcome.
Trophy: Memento Mori
Jaime's jaw was removed by Frank Stone.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is the opposite outcome of Escape Artist in Chapter 13. When playing as Sam and finding Jaime hooked on the wall, do not successfully fend off Frank Stone with the camera. Failing this sequence allows Frank Stone to overpower Sam and kill Jaime, unlocking the trophy. This cannot be done in a run where you keep everyone alive, so it will need to be done separately or during cleanup.
Trophy: Motif
Played a familiar theme on the piano.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is done in Chapter 2 and requires you to have picked up Linda earlier by stopping for the hitchhiker. Once inside the manor, go upstairs to the second floor and examine the table on the right with the lit candle to pick up the music sheet. After that, head left toward the room with the double doors where the piano is immediately on your right. Interact with it and when Linda asks if you play, choose to play the piano to unlock the trophy.
Trophy: Stan of Cleaves
Stan was cut into pieces in the horologium.
Type: Silver
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 10 during the horologium sequence. When playing as Chris, choose Afraid when deciding whether to go back to 1980 so you stay in the present. Shortly after, a skill check will occur as the machine activates. You must intentionally fail this skill check to trigger Stan’s death sequence, which unlocks the trophy.
Trophy: Tsap …eht ot Kcab
Chris was sent to 1980, though something went wrong.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
How to Unlock
This is earned in Chapter 10 during the horologium sequence. When playing as Chris, choose Hopeful when deciding to go back to 1980, then intentionally fail all of the button mash QTEs that follow. When prompted, do not help Stan. If done correctly, Stan will survive and Chris will still enter the machine, but something will clearly go wrong as he is sent back, confirmed by his screams before the scene ends.
Story
Trophy: Back to the... Past
Chris was successfully sent back to 1980.
Type: Silver
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This also takes place in Chapter 10 and requires the opposite outcome of the horologium sequence. When playing as Chris, choose Hopeful when given the option about going back to 1980. Then successfully complete all of the button mash QTEs that follow. If you pass the sequence, Chris will be sent back to 1980 alive and the trophy will unlock.
Trophy: Camera Shy
Warded off the Killer with the 8mm camera.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This unlocks during Chapter 8 the first time you successfully use the camera to fend off Frank Stone. When he begins chasing you, aim using L2 and the right stick, then hold R2 to activate the camera and keep it focused on him. You will occasionally need to tap Square to reload while continuing to hold R2 to maintain pressure. As long as you successfully repel him during this sequence, the trophy will unlock and cannot be missed.
Trophy: Fellow Traveller
Madi picked up the hitchhiker.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This unlocks in Chapter 2 during Madi’s driving sequence. After the dream sequence transitions to her on the road, you will encounter a hitchhiker trying to flag you down. Choose to stop and pick them up when prompted. This character is Linda, and agreeing to help her immediately unlocks the trophy. This decision is also important for later progression, as skipping her will prevent you from unlocking other trophies tied to her presence later in the story.
Trophy: Open Sesame
Solved the gate puzzle.
Type: Silver
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This unlocks in Chapter 6 as part of story progression while solving the gate puzzle with Madi, Linda, and Stan. After gaining access upstairs, head to the far right to find a key on a cart. Return to the lower level and use it on the locked cabinet across from the stairs. Then go down to the bottom level, pick up the tree object from a dresser, and use it to open the cabinet and obtain a small hammer. Use the hammer on the hillbilly statue near the locked door to retrieve the missing cylinder. Insert it into the puzzle and enter the correct combination with House on the left, Tree in the middle, and Hammer on the right to complete the puzzle and unlock the trophy.
Trophy: Savior
Sam stopped Frank Stone.
Type: Silver
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This unlocks at the end of Chapter 1 as long as you successfully complete all QTEs during the confrontation with Frank Stone. As Sam approaches the ramp and the encounter begins, you need to pass every input sequence without failing. These include timed presses where you hit the button as the indicator reaches the target zone, aiming segments using the right stick followed by R2 to strike Frank, and rapid button presses when prompted. Stay focused during the sequence where Sam is grabbed, pinned, and eventually reaches for the gun. If you succeed through the entire chain, Sam will shoot Frank Stone before he can kill the baby and the trophy will unlock. Setting the difficulty to Observer makes these sequences much more forgiving and is recommended if you want to guarantee success on your first run.
Trophy: The Campfire
Completed the story.
Type: Gold
Category: Story
How to Unlock
This unlocks automatically after finishing the game. Simply complete all 14 chapters and reach the final campfire scene at the end. Once the story concludes and the ending sequence finishes, the trophy will pop.
The Casting of Frank Stone Trophy Roadmap
Early Game
The opening chapters ease you into the game with exploration, dialogue choices, and your first real skill checks. Take your time here. Look around, interact with everything, and get used to how the camera mechanic works since it becomes your lifeline later. This is also where the game quietly starts tracking your decisions, so even small choices can come back later.
You will start finding trinkets, relics, and artifacts early on. Grab everything you see so you do not have to backtrack later. Nothing here is overly punishing yet, but missing early collectibles can turn into cleanup headaches later.
Stay sharp on skill checks right from the start. They are forgiving now, but this is basically your training phase. If something feels important, it probably is.
Mid Game
This is where things start opening up and your choices begin to carry real weight. You will move between timelines, explore larger areas, and start dealing with more frequent threats. The camera becomes essential, and knowing when to use it quickly can be the difference between life and death.
Focus on full exploration in every area before progressing. Many collectibles are tucked slightly off the main path, and some are tied to specific decisions or routes. If you are going for completion, this is a good time to stay consistent and methodical.
Character relationships also start to matter more here. Dialogue choices, who you trust, and how you handle situations will influence future scenes. If something feels like a big decision, it usually is.
Late Game
The final chapters ramp everything up. Skill checks become faster, encounters are more intense, and mistakes are punished immediately. There is very little room for hesitation, so stay focused and be ready for back to back inputs.
This is also where earlier choices fully pay off. Who is alive, what items you collected, and how you handled key moments all shape how these chapters play out. There are multiple branching outcomes, so do not stress if things go wrong. That is part of the experience.
If you are aiming for the best outcomes, prioritize quick reactions, consistent camera use, and choosing survival over risky decisions. When in doubt, staying alive is always the better move.
Trophy Cleanup and Extra Tips
Most collectibles should be gathered during your main playthrough if you explored properly, but anything missed can be cleaned up through chapter replay. Trinkets, relics, and artifacts are the main focus here, along with seeing different outcomes for key decisions.
Some trophies require different choices or letting certain events play out differently, so expect at least a second run if you want everything. The good news is the game is designed for replayability, so you can experiment without starting completely from scratch.
If you get stuck on a decision, collectible, or outcome, just Ask Gami and get right back into it. The goal is to finish strong, not stress over every little thing. You have got this.
