The Last of Us Part II Remastered Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME

Start with a fresh playthrough on Moderate or easier and make this your main collectible run. If you only care about the Platinum, you can completely ignore Permadeath and No Return. If you want the full Remastered trophy list, though, turning on Permadeath and setting it to Per Chapter is the safest way to work toward You Can't Stop This without turning the entire run into misery.

Most of the Platinum is tied to exploration, collectibles, upgrades, and a handful of specific events, so take your time. Follow a collectible route as you play and pick up Artifacts, Journal Entries, Trading Cards, Coins, Training Manuals, Weapons, Workbenches, and Safes as you go. You should also naturally make progress toward Apprentice, Tinkerer, Tools of the Trade, Specialist, Survival Training, Mechanist, and the larger upgrade trophies.

MID GAME

Keep treating exploration as the priority. A huge portion of the trophy list comes from collectible progress, and getting as much as possible now will save you from constantly jumping around Chapter Select later. Downtown Seattle is especially worth clearing thoroughly since Sightseer and So Great and Small can both be handled there alongside your collectible cleanup.

Watch for the chapter-specific event trophies as well. Ellie has So Great and Small during Seattle Day 1: Downtown and Looks Good On You during The Birthday Gift. Abby has Sharpshooter during The Stadium, Relic of the Sages during Hostile Territory, and Put My Name Up during Winter Visit. These are easy enough to clean up later, but grabbing them naturally keeps the second half of the trophy hunt much cleaner.

LATE GAME

Finish the story and continue collecting Supplements and Parts whenever possible, but do not worry if Survival Expert and Arms Master are still unfinished. You generally will not have enough resources to fully purchase every player upgrade and every weapon upgrade in a single normal playthrough, which is why New Game Plus is useful.

After completing the story, start New Game Plus and continue upgrading until you finish Survival Expert and Arms Master. If you also want the additional Grounded trophy, make this your Grounded run and complete the game for Dig Two Graves. Grounded and Permadeath are not required for the Platinum itself, so there is no reason to combine them unless you specifically want the challenge.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS

Once the story trophies, collectibles, and upgrades are finished, use Chapter Select to clean up anything you missed. If you already earned the Platinum in the original PS4 version, you can also import that save into Remastered and automatically unlock the corresponding trophies, but starting fresh obviously gives you the full experience again.

No Return is separate from the Platinum, but it contains its own substantial trophy set. Most of these come from simply playing runs, experimenting with different characters and Mods, completing Gambits, unlocking both faction challenge tracks, beating every boss, and eventually winning with every character. Mixed Bag, Become The Hunter, Got Your Back, Burglar, Risk Taker, Modded, Good Riddance, Team Ellie, Team Abby, Roll Call, and True Strength all fit naturally into that progression.

The longer-term No Return goals require more runs. Daily Runs unlock after enough progression, with May Your Survival Be Long requiring a Daily Run victory and May Your Death Be Swift requiring one on Grounded. That last trophy is the real test of the Remastered list, so save it until you are comfortable with the mode, enemy patterns, character strengths, and encounter modifiers.

For the Platinum itself, though, the route is far friendlier: focus on collectibles and upgrades, finish the story, use New Game Plus to complete anything resource-gated, and clean up the handful of event trophies afterward.

The infected are dangerous.

But the real enemy is realizing you walked past one Trading Card twenty hours ago.
