The Midnight Walk Trophy Roadmap

EARLY GAME

Begin your journey through The Midnight Walk by getting comfortable with the game's unusual mechanics, especially closing your eyes to navigate darkness and directing Potboy to interact with the environment. Your main goal is to complete all six chapters while collecting anything you discover along the way. There are no permanently missable trophies, so you can enjoy the story without worrying about ruining your Platinum run.

Keep an eye out for four collectible types: 19 clay figurines, 25 shellphones, 17 gramophone discs, and 15 story pages, making 76 collectibles altogether. Most are found along the main route or behind small detours. You can revisit chapters later, but collecting everything as you go will save you another trip through the darkness. It's already creepy enough the first time.

Two easy trophies are worth handling early. In Chapter 1, hold L1 in flatscreen mode or L2 in VR mode to keep your eyes closed for 60 uninterrupted seconds and unlock Shadow Work. In Chapter 2, once you've met Housy, spend 10 continuous minutes inside him to earn Home Is Where The Heart Is. You can also complete this later by visiting Housy from the main menu.

MID GAME

As you progress through Nobodyville and Coalhaven, continue exploring for collectibles while working toward the automatic story trophies. In Chapter 2, look for Mind Over Body, which requires you to visit the guillotine room near the Headmaster's campfire. Follow the path to the left of the campfire when accessible, enter the room, and wait for Potboy to investigate the guillotine. He'll handle the rest himself. Apparently, curiosity is dangerous even when you're made of clay.

Chapter 3 introduces Coalhaven and its unsettling history. Focus on completing the story while thoroughly exploring its buildings and surrounding paths. This chapter contains five clay figurines, six shellphones, five gramophone discs, and five story pages, making it a particularly collectible-heavy section. Checking your collection inside Housy can help you identify anything you've overlooked.

In Chapter 4, Face Your Fears becomes available when you encounter the Grinners. Equip your Matchstick Gun and shoot one in the face after it emerges from its shell and begins charging. A convenient opportunity appears in the sewers after the first projector, near a checkpoint and matchbox. Don't waste your shot while the creature is still safely tucked inside its shell.

LATE GAME

Continue through Chapter 5, The Tale of the Dark, collecting anything you encounter before heading toward the final chapter. Chapter 5 contains three clay figurines, two shellphones, four gramophone discs, and two story pages. Remember that all gramophone discs and story pages are found within the first five chapters, so Chapter 6 won't require searching for either of those collectible types.

Chapter 6, The Tale of Moon Mountain, brings your journey to its conclusion. There are still two clay figurines and two shellphones to collect, so keep exploring as you approach the ending. Once you reach the final decision, you'll be presented with two choices that determine which ending trophy you earn.

Choosing Burn unlocks Burn Out, while choosing Stop unlocks Fade Away. Both trophies are required for the Platinum, but you can only earn one per ending completion. Make whichever choice you prefer first, then use Chapter Select to replay Chapter 6 and select the opposite option. The world may be falling apart, but at least your trophy progress doesn't have to.

TROPHY CLEANUP AND EXTRA TIPS

After completing the story, use Chapter Select from the main menu to revisit any chapters containing missing collectibles. Your four collection trophies are Mad God for all 19 clay figurines, Who's There? for all 25 shellphones, There Is Always Music In The Air for all 17 gramophone discs, and Who Took The Sun Away? for all 15 story pages. Housy's Collectibles Room lets you review what you've already discovered, making cleanup more manageable.

If you missed any miscellaneous trophies, this is also the time to finish them. Shadow Work and Home Is Where The Heart Is can be completed without replaying the full story, while Mind Over Body requires revisiting Chapter 2 and Face Your Fears requires Chapter 4. Neither demands a full additional playthrough, so there's no need to restart the entire adventure just because Potboy missed his appointment with a guillotine.

Finally, replay Chapter 6 to unlock whichever ending trophy you're missing. Chapter Select allows you to return to the final chapter, although you'll need to progress through it again to reach the decision. Once you've earned both endings, completed every collectible set, and finished the remaining miscellaneous trophies, Burn Baby Burn! will unlock, rewarding you with the Platinum. One journey through a nightmare made of clay, and a shiny new trophy to show for it.
