The Midnight Walk 100% Platinum Walkthrough - Trophy & Achievement Guide
Trophy: Burn Baby Burn!
Unlocked all trophies.
Type: Platinum
Unlock Details
Unlock every other trophy in The Midnight Walk to earn the Platinum.

Trophy: Mad God
Collect all clay figurines.
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all 19 clay figurines hidden throughout the six chapters of The Midnight Walk. These small sculptures are stored inside clay containers with circular hatches. Open each container and collect the figurine inside. Most are found along the main path or require only a short detour. You can view your collected figurines inside Housy's Collectibles Room, where each one reveals additional information about the game's unusual characters. If you miss any, use Chapter Select to revisit the relevant chapters. Collecting all 19 figurines unlocks the trophy.
Tip
Check Housy's Collectibles Room to see which figurines you're missing before starting your cleanup. No need to search the entire clay universe twice.

Trophy: There Is Always Music In The Air
Collect all gramophone discs.
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all 17 gramophone discs hidden throughout the first five chapters of The Midnight Walk. Each disc is stored inside a clay container with a circular hatch. Open the container and retrieve the disc to add it to your collection. You can listen to your collected discs inside Housy, where they unlock tracks from the game's soundtrack. There are no gramophone discs in Chapter 6, so focus your search on Chapters 1–5. If you miss any, use Chapter Select to revisit earlier areas. Collecting all 17 discs unlocks the trophy.
Tip
Chapter 3 contains five gramophone discs, the most of any chapter. Check Coalhaven carefully, unless you fancy another tour of its extremely welcoming atmosphere.

Trophy: Who Took The Sun Away?
Collect the complete story of the Murkle.
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Collect all 15 story pages scattered throughout the first five chapters of The Midnight Walk. Story pages resemble small film reels and are stored inside clay containers with circular hatches. Open each container and retrieve the reel to add it to your collection. Collected story pages can be watched using the projector inside Housy, gradually revealing the complete story of the Murkle. There are no story pages in Chapter 6. If you miss any during your first playthrough, use Chapter Select to revisit the earlier chapters. Once you've collected all 15 story pages, the trophy will unlock.
Tip
Chapters 2 and 3 contain nine of the 15 story pages between them, so they're worth checking carefully before moving on. Housy also lets you review your collection when it's time for cleanup.

Trophy: Who's There?
Collect all Shellphones.
Type: Gold
Category: Collectible
Unlock Details
Find and collect all 25 shellphones scattered across the six chapters of The Midnight Walk. Shellphones are strange, shell-shaped communication devices that play recorded messages when picked up. Unlike other collectibles, they aren't hidden inside containers and can usually be spotted sitting on stands along your journey. Simply pick up each shellphone to register it as collected. You don't need to listen to the entire recording for it to count. You can replay collected messages inside Housy's Collectibles Room. If you miss any shellphones, use Chapter Select to return and retrieve them. The trophy unlocks after collecting all 25.
Tip
Chapter 2 contains nine shellphones, more than any other chapter. Pay extra attention while exploring Nobodyville. Apparently, even in a world without phones, nobody can stop leaving messages.

Trophy: Face Your Fears
Matchstick it to the Grinner.
Type: Gold
Category: Combat
Unlock Details
Shoot a Grinner in the face with the Matchstick Gun during Chapter 4: The Tale of the Craftsman’s Heart. Grinners are large, unsettling creatures that hide inside protective shells before emerging to chase you. To unlock this trophy, you must shoot a Grinner in its exposed face after it emerges from its shell and begins charging toward you. One of the easiest opportunities comes shortly after viewing the first projector in Chapter 4. As you enter the sewers, you'll find a matchbox near a checkpoint, with several Grinners waiting further ahead. Use the matchbox to prepare your Matchstick Gun, then approach a Grinner until it emerges from its shell. Once its face is exposed and it starts charging, aim carefully and shoot it in the face. The trophy unlocks immediately after a successful hit. Don't panic when it starts running toward you. It's only a giant nightmare creature trying to ruin your day. You've got this.
Tip
The sewer checkpoint makes this an excellent place to attempt the trophy. If you die, you'll respawn near the matchbox and can try again. You can also revisit Chapter 4 through Chapter Select if you missed the opportunity during your first playthrough.
Warning
Shooting a Grinner while its face is still protected by its shell won't satisfy the trophy requirement. Wait until it fully emerges and begins charging before firing.

Trophy: Burn Out
Reignite the sun.
Type: Gold
Category: Ending
Unlock Details
Reignite the sun by choosing the Burn ending. At the conclusion of Chapter 6: The Tale of Moon Mountain, you'll reach the heart of the Moon and face a final decision involving Potboy. When presented with two choices, select Burn, the option on the left. This allows Potboy to continue reigniting the sun. Watch the ending sequence, and the trophy will unlock when the credits begin. Both endings are required for the Platinum, so you'll also need to complete the alternate ending for Fade Away.
Tip
You can replay Chapter 6 through Chapter Select to earn the other ending trophy. No need to restart the entire adventure just to make one different decision.

Trophy: Fade Away
Keep on walking the Midnight Walk.
Type: Gold
Category: Ending
Unlock Details
Complete the story by choosing to leave the world in darkness. At the end of Chapter 6: The Tale of Moon Mountain, you'll reach the final decision inside the heart of the Moon. When Potboy pauses and presents you with two options, select Stop, the option on the right. This prevents Potboy from reigniting the sun and triggers the alternate ending. Watch the final sequence, and the trophy will unlock when the credits begin. You'll also need to earn Burn Out by selecting the opposite ending to complete your Platinum collection.
Tip
If you've already finished the game, use Chapter Select to replay Chapter 6 and choose Stop. Sometimes earning a Platinum means making the universe considerably worse before making it better.

Trophy: Home Is Where The Heart Is
Stay home for 10 minutes.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Stay inside Housy the House for 10 uninterrupted minutes. You'll first encounter Housy during Chapter 2: The Tale of the Loathsome Molgrim. After entering him and lighting his central fireplace, he'll become your traveling home throughout the adventure. Once inside Housy, simply remain there for 10 consecutive minutes. You can explore the Collectibles Room, listen to shellphones, play gramophone discs, or stand around doing absolutely nothing. All of these activities count toward the trophy. Just make sure you don't leave before the 10 minutes are up, or the timer will reset. You can also earn this trophy after completing the story by selecting Story → Visit Housy from the main menu.
Tip
This is a perfect opportunity to grab a snack or stretch your legs. Potboy can handle the house-sitting duties while you take a well-deserved break.

Trophy: Mind Over Body
Re-enact the Great Beheading.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Re-enact the Great Beheading with Potboy during Chapter 2: The Tale of the Loathsome Molgrim. While exploring Nobodyville, you'll eventually reach the Headmaster's campfire. From this area, look for a pathway to the left leading into a room containing a large guillotine. You can access this room after acquiring the Matchstick Gun or later in the chapter once the Headmaster gives you a key and the path becomes available again. Enter the guillotine room and wait without leaving. After a short while, Potboy will approach the guillotine, climb the stairs, and place his head beneath the blade. The guillotine will drop, completing the reenactment and unlocking the trophy. You don't need to interact with the machinery or press any buttons. Apparently, Potboy has a rather unusual understanding of recreational activities.
Tip
If Potboy doesn't begin the animation, return to the main menu and select Continue to retry the scene. You can also revisit Chapter 2 through Chapter Select if you missed the trophy during your first playthrough.

Trophy: Shadow Work
Rest in darkness for a minute.
Type: Bronze
Category: Misc
Unlock Details
Keep your eyes closed for 60 uninterrupted seconds. During Chapter 1: The Tale of the Burnt One, you'll learn how to close your eyes while searching for a hidden key. Once this mechanic becomes available, you can use it throughout the game whenever you're outside a cutscene. To unlock the trophy, hold L1 in flatscreen mode or L2 in VR mode for a full 60 seconds without releasing the button. Your screen will turn dark while your character's eyes remain closed. Continue holding the button until the trophy unlocks. Releasing the button early resets the timer, so make sure you complete the full minute in one attempt.
Tip
Find a safe spot before attempting this. Standing perfectly still with your eyes closed in a world full of monsters might not be the smartest survival strategy, but at least there's a trophy involved.

Trophy: Fire Walk
Rekindle your little flame.
Type: Bronze
Category: Story
Unlock Details
During Chapter 1: The Tale of the Burnt One, you'll encounter a small clay creature sitting lifeless along the path. This is Potboy, your soon-to-be traveling companion. Find a nearby matchbox, take a match, and strike it against the side of the box to light it. Approach Potboy and use the burning match to ignite the kindling on his head. Once awakened, he'll run ahead and hide inside a can. Follow him, then walk back a short distance to find a piece of coal. Return to the can, knock to coax Potboy out, and feed him the coal. Repeat this process with a second piece of coal, and the trophy will unlock. Congratulations, you've officially adopted a walking fireplace. At least this one doesn't need batteries.

Trophy: The Tale Of Coalhaven
Complete the third Chapter.
Type: Gold
Category: Story
Unlock Details
Complete Chapter 3: The Tale of Coalhaven. Travel through the abandoned mining town of Coalhaven and uncover the events that left its inhabitants trapped in darkness. Follow the main story objectives, investigate the town, and help Potboy restore the central furnace. Once you've completed the chapter and continued your journey, the trophy will unlock automatically. No additional challenges or special conditions are required.

Trophy: The Tale Of The Burnt One
Complete the first Chapter.
Type: Silver
Category: Story
Unlock Details
Complete Chapter 1: The Tale of the Burnt One. Progress naturally through the opening chapter, learn how to navigate the darkness, and work alongside Potboy as you begin your journey toward Moon Mountain. The trophy unlocks automatically when you finish the chapter. No special actions or optional objectives are required.

Trophy: The Tale Of The Craftsman’s Heart
Complete the fourth Chapter.
Type: Gold
Category: Story
Unlock Details
Complete Chapter 4: The Tale of the Craftsman’s Heart. Continue your journey with Potboy through a strange, lifeless city filled with abandoned creations and some deeply unsettling inhabitants. Follow the main story objectives, navigate the areas inhabited by Grinners, and uncover the history of the enormous Craftsman who built the city. As you progress, you'll help Potboy restore the Craftsman's heart and bring some much-needed warmth back to his creations. The trophy unlocks automatically when you complete Chapter 4. No additional objectives or special conditions are required.
Tip
Chapter 4 is also your opportunity to earn Face Your Fears by shooting a charging Grinner with the Matchstick Gun. It's worth handling now rather than returning later for another round of clay monster target practice.

Trophy: The Tale Of The Loathsome Molgrim
Complete the second Chapter.
Type: Gold
Category: Story
Unlock Details
Complete Chapter 2: The Tale of the Loathsome Molgrim. Continue your journey with Potboy into Nobodyville, where you'll meet a rather unusual community of disembodied heads. Progress through the chapter's story, explore the surrounding areas, and complete the events involving the Molgrim. The trophy unlocks automatically upon completing Chapter 2. Apparently, having a body is considered poor manners around here. Fortunately, the trophy doesn't require you to leave yours behind.

Begin your journey through The Midnight Walk by getting comfortable with the game's unusual mechanics, especially closing your eyes to navigate darkness and directing Potboy to interact with the environment. Your main goal is to complete all six chapters while collecting anything you discover along the way. There are no permanently missable trophies, so you can enjoy the story without worrying about ruining your Platinum run.
Keep an eye out for four collectible types: 19 clay figurines, 25 shellphones, 17 gramophone discs, and 15 story pages, making 76 collectibles altogether. Most are found along the main route or behind small detours. You can revisit chapters later, but collecting everything as you go will save you another trip through the darkness. It's already creepy enough the first time.
Two easy trophies are worth handling early. In Chapter 1, hold L1 in flatscreen mode or L2 in VR mode to keep your eyes closed for 60 uninterrupted seconds and unlock Shadow Work. In Chapter 2, once you've met Housy, spend 10 continuous minutes inside him to earn Home Is Where The Heart Is. You can also complete this later by visiting Housy from the main menu.
As you progress through Nobodyville and Coalhaven, continue exploring for collectibles while working toward the automatic story trophies. In Chapter 2, look for Mind Over Body, which requires you to visit the guillotine room near the Headmaster's campfire. Follow the path to the left of the campfire when accessible, enter the room, and wait for Potboy to investigate the guillotine. He'll handle the rest himself. Apparently, curiosity is dangerous even when you're made of clay.
Chapter 3 introduces Coalhaven and its unsettling history. Focus on completing the story while thoroughly exploring its buildings and surrounding paths. This chapter contains five clay figurines, six shellphones, five gramophone discs, and five story pages, making it a particularly collectible-heavy section. Checking your collection inside Housy can help you identify anything you've overlooked.
In Chapter 4, Face Your Fears becomes available when you encounter the Grinners. Equip your Matchstick Gun and shoot one in the face after it emerges from its shell and begins charging. A convenient opportunity appears in the sewers after the first projector, near a checkpoint and matchbox. Don't waste your shot while the creature is still safely tucked inside its shell.
Continue through Chapter 5, The Tale of the Dark, collecting anything you encounter before heading toward the final chapter. Chapter 5 contains three clay figurines, two shellphones, four gramophone discs, and two story pages. Remember that all gramophone discs and story pages are found within the first five chapters, so Chapter 6 won't require searching for either of those collectible types.
Chapter 6, The Tale of Moon Mountain, brings your journey to its conclusion. There are still two clay figurines and two shellphones to collect, so keep exploring as you approach the ending. Once you reach the final decision, you'll be presented with two choices that determine which ending trophy you earn.
Choosing Burn unlocks Burn Out, while choosing Stop unlocks Fade Away. Both trophies are required for the Platinum, but you can only earn one per ending completion. Make whichever choice you prefer first, then use Chapter Select to replay Chapter 6 and select the opposite option. The world may be falling apart, but at least your trophy progress doesn't have to.
After completing the story, use Chapter Select from the main menu to revisit any chapters containing missing collectibles. Your four collection trophies are Mad God for all 19 clay figurines, Who's There? for all 25 shellphones, There Is Always Music In The Air for all 17 gramophone discs, and Who Took The Sun Away? for all 15 story pages. Housy's Collectibles Room lets you review what you've already discovered, making cleanup more manageable.
If you missed any miscellaneous trophies, this is also the time to finish them. Shadow Work and Home Is Where The Heart Is can be completed without replaying the full story, while Mind Over Body requires revisiting Chapter 2 and Face Your Fears requires Chapter 4. Neither demands a full additional playthrough, so there's no need to restart the entire adventure just because Potboy missed his appointment with a guillotine.
Finally, replay Chapter 6 to unlock whichever ending trophy you're missing. Chapter Select allows you to return to the final chapter, although you'll need to progress through it again to reach the decision. Once you've earned both endings, completed every collectible set, and finished the remaining miscellaneous trophies, Burn Baby Burn! will unlock, rewarding you with the Platinum. One journey through a nightmare made of clay, and a shiny new trophy to show for it.
