How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks at the end of Episode 1 after reaching the Bright Falls gas station. The first episode is designed to teach the core mechanics of the game while introducing the story and the town. The opening dream section teaches combat basics while you move toward the lighthouse. After that, you will spend time exploring the diner in Bright Falls before heading back into the forest. The final stretch requires you to apply everything you learned earlier as you fight through Taken enemies and defeat Stucky at the logging yard. After reaching the gas station, interact with the phone to call the Sheriff and complete the episode. The trophy unlocks immediately when the mission ends.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during the concert battle at Anderson Farm in Episode 4. As you progress through the farm area with Barry, you will eventually reach a large outdoor stage where a scripted combat sequence begins and waves of Taken attack while music plays. The objective here is to survive the entire encounter without your health dropping too low. Stay mobile around the stage and make use of the strong light sources positioned around the area. There is a powerful flashlight at the front of the stage, supply boxes along the back wall, and a healing light beneath the large dragon statue above the stage. Enemies will attack from multiple directions, so avoid standing still and keep scanning the stage for incoming Taken. The moving stage lights can automatically burn away enemy darkness if they pass through them, which helps thin the waves quickly. If enemies get too close, use flares or flashbangs to push them back and create breathing room. The safest strategy is to keep moving while burning away enemy darkness with the stronger flashlight and finishing them quickly. As long as you maintain good positioning and avoid letting your health drop too low during the fight, the trophy will unlock once the concert battle ends.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during the opening Nightmare sequence at the very beginning of the game. As you move through the dreamlike forest and head toward the lighthouse, you will encounter a mysterious guiding light that explains how the core combat mechanics work. Follow the path forward while learning how to weaken enemies with your flashlight before attacking them. Once the tutorial sequence finishes and the scene concludes, the trophy will unlock automatically as part of the story progression.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks in Episode 5 when solving the floodgate puzzle near the transformer yard. After meeting Cynthia Weaver, also known as the Lady of the Light, she asks Alan to cut the power to the transformer yard before she will help him further. To reach the control panel you must cross a set of bridges controlled by a simple floodgate puzzle. Three buttons control different bridge combinations. The correct solution is to activate the far right button first and then activate the middle button. This will align the bridges so you can cross to the other side. Once the bridges are aligned, walk across and interact with the control button to complete the task. Doing this successfully unlocks the trophy.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during Episode 3 when you encounter the possessed bulldozer in a large construction yard. As you move through the episode you will eventually enter a wide open work site, and once you step inside the area a possessed bulldozer will begin attacking along with several Taken. The bulldozer will repeatedly charge around the yard while the Taken attempt to attack you at the same time. Keep moving and watch the direction of the bulldozer so you can avoid getting run over. You can even use the bulldozer to your advantage by luring Taken into its path as it charges across the area. Focus your light on the machine whenever it stops long enough to expose its darkness shield. After weakening it with the flashlight, continue damaging it until the possession breaks and the bulldozer is destroyed. Defeating the possessed bulldozer will unlock the trophy. This encounter can technically be avoided if you run through the area without engaging it. If you are aiming for the trophy, make sure you stay and destroy the bulldozer instead of skipping the fight.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks later in Episode 3 when you encounter a possessed steam train in the ghost town section of the level. As you progress through the area you will eventually reach a train yard where a locomotive becomes possessed by the darkness and begins attacking. The train fight happens in two phases. First you will need to focus your flashlight on the boiler to burn away the darkness protecting it. Once that section is weakened and destroyed, the fight continues with the cab of the locomotive. Keep your distance while burning away the darkness shield with your light, then deal damage once the shield breaks. After destroying both parts of the possessed train, the trophy will unlock. Just like the bulldozer encounter earlier in the episode, this fight can be bypassed if you run past the area. Make sure you engage and destroy the locomotive if you want the trophy to unlock.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during the story when you restore power at Bird Leg Cabin. As you approach the cabin, you will need to head to the shed located just behind the house to start the generator. Interact with the generator and complete the short starting mini game to bring the power back online. Once the generator successfully starts and electricity is restored to the cabin, the trophy will unlock automatically as part of the story progression.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks after defeating Stucky during the forest section leading to the Bright Falls gas station. After the cabin sequence, you will wake up in the forest and begin making your way along the road toward the nearby fuel station. Along the path you will eventually reach a logging yard where Stucky appears as your first major boss encounter. He moves quickly and can be difficult to track, so focus on burning away his darkness first with the flashlight. Try not to overuse the focused beam too early. Slowly drain his shield until he pauses, then unload your revolver shots into him. Once Stucky is defeated, the trophy will unlock.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks at the end of Episode 2 after completing the events in Elderwood National Park. The episode begins at the sheriff’s station where Alan receives a call from someone claiming to have Alice. Believing it may lead to her rescue, Alan heads out alone toward Lovers’ Peak to meet the supposed kidnapper. Once night falls, you leave the cabin in the park and encounter the ranger again in his Taken form near the ranger station. After defeating him, continue following the signs leading toward Lovers’ Peak while dealing with Taken along the forest trails. Eventually you will reach a cable car that breaks and sends Alan falling into the forest below. You will temporarily lose most of your weapons and only have your flashlight, but a nearby supply box provides flares to help keep enemies back. Follow the man who helps you after the fall and fight through several Taken encounters together. After reaching Lovers’ Peak, the man reveals that he is the kidnapper and demands the manuscript for Departure in exchange for Alice. An argument follows and both Alan and the kidnapper fall from the overlook. When you regain control, make your way back toward the cabin where Barry is waiting. A large flock of ravens attacks near the cabin, so defeat them before heading inside to speak with Barry. Completing the episode will unlock the trophy.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks at the end of Episode 4 after discovering the truth behind the events in Bright Falls. The episode begins at Cauldron Lake Lodge where Dr. Hartman attempts to convince Alan that Alice is dead and that he belongs in the lodge as a patient. After escaping the lodge, Alan and Barry crash while trying to reach Anderson Farm and must continue on foot. During this section Alan temporarily has no weapons or flashlight, so the safest approach is to avoid enemies and move quickly through the forest until you reach a vehicle that allows you to continue toward the farm. Once you reach Anderson Farm, continue exploring the buildings with Barry while dealing with Taken encounters along the way. After progressing through several structures you will eventually reach the farmhouse where the power must be restored. Turn on the electricity and interact with the music player upstairs to trigger the next sequence. Alan then enters a dreamlike state where he finally realizes what truly happened the night he and Alice arrived in Bright Falls. After this revelation the episode concludes and the trophy unlocks automatically as part of the story progression.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks at the end of Episode 5 after reaching the Well Lit Room with Cynthia Weaver. The episode begins in the Bright Falls sheriff’s office where Alan and Barry are being held after Agent Nightingale arrests them. After the situation escalates, you will leave the station with Sarah and restore power before heading out to retrieve the helicopter keys. As you move through the streets of Bright Falls you will fight through multiple Taken encounters while progressing toward the helicopter. Eventually Barry is forced to retreat into the general store while enemies flood the street. Continue through the bookstore and church areas before regrouping and preparing for a helicopter defense sequence. After surviving this section you will be transported to the power plant where Alan must continue alone. At the power plant Cynthia Weaver appears and instructs Alan to shut down the transformer yard, which leads to the floodgate puzzle required for the Gatekeeper trophy. After completing this task the story continues toward the crash site and eventually onto the dam. During the final section you must outrun a massive tornado while moving across the dam. Keep pushing forward until you reach the elevator where Barry and Sarah are waiting. After entering the Well Lit Room and the following cutscene plays, the episode concludes and the trophy unlocks.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during the final episode after defeating the tornado created by the Dark Presence. Alan must return to Bird Leg Cabin on Diver’s Isle to finish writing the ending to the story, but the tornado blocks the path forward. The fight takes place on a series of platforms where the tornado continues to attack while Taken enemies appear around you. The game provides unlimited flare gun ammunition during this section, so make full use of it to clear enemies and create a path toward the center of the storm. Once the surrounding enemies are cleared, aim the flare gun toward the heart of the tornado where Barbara Jagger appears. You must land three direct hits to weaken the darkness completely. After the final hit a cutscene begins where Alan uses the Clicker and dives into Cauldron Lake. When the scene ends, the trophy will unlock as part of completing the final confrontation.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks during Episode 2 when you encounter the park ranger at the ranger station. After hearing a disturbance on the road, you will enter the reception area and find the ranger badly injured. He asks you to restore the power, so head over to the nearby generator to investigate. When you reach the power source, you will discover that it has been sabotaged. Something attacks the ranger while you are away, and when you return to the station the back wall will be destroyed. Move through the opening and prepare for a boss fight against the ranger, now transformed into a Taken. The ranger behaves similarly to Stucky and moves quickly around the area. Focus on draining his darkness shield with your flashlight before trying to deal damage. Once the shield breaks, a few revolver shots will bring him down. Defeating the Taken ranger will unlock the trophy.

How to Unlock

This trophy unlocks at the end of Episode 3 after reaching the Cauldron Lake lookout and finally confronting the kidnapper. During this episode Alan is on the run from both the FBI and local law enforcement, and the main objective becomes finding transportation so he can reach the coal mine where the kidnapper claims to be waiting. Once you obtain a vehicle, drive toward the mining area and enter the main building where Alan waits for the kidnapper to make contact. After some time passes, you will finally hear from him and receive instructions to head to the Cauldron Lake lookout located beyond the old mining town. As you travel through the mining area you will encounter several possessed objects that attack as you move through the ghost town. Continue progressing through the environment until you reach the mine shaft. Inside the mine you will need to navigate through tunnels and operate a simple elevator puzzle before exiting back outside. After leaving the mine, move through the nearby building and prepare for a Taken ambush along the way. You can either defeat the enemies or push past them and continue toward the lookout trail. When you reach the bottom of the path leading to the lookout, a cutscene will trigger and the episode will end. The trophy unlocks automatically at this point as part of the story progression.
