All Gear Chest Puzzle Solutions In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Most Gear Chests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are locked behind environmental puzzles, hidden keys, barred doors, or destructible walls.
Quick Answer
Most Gear Chests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are locked behind environmental puzzles, hidden keys, barred doors, or destructible walls. Common solutions include moving shelves, throwing Throwing Knives through windows to break door bars, and using explosive red jars to destroy fragile walls or floors.
Several chests also require story progression before they become accessible, especially late-game locations in Karkh. Using Eagle Vision regularly helps identify destructible objects, movable shelves, hidden windows, and keys much faster.
The hardest chest puzzles are usually found in Upper Harbor, The Four Markets, House of Wisdom, Dur-Kurigalzu, and Al-Jahiz’s House.

How Gear Chest Puzzles Work In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Most Gear Chests in Assassin’s Creed Mirage are tied to small environmental puzzles rather than traditional combat encounters. These puzzles usually involve finding alternate entrances, destroying barricades, or manipulating shelves and explosive objects.
Gear Chests reward new weapons, outfits, and upgrade schematics. Since each gear set is tied to multiple chests, collecting them early helps improve your stealth and combat options throughout the story.
Common Gear Chest Puzzle Mechanics
Several puzzle types repeat throughout the game:
- Movable shelves that create climbing paths
- Barred doors unlocked with Throwing Knives
- Explosive red jars used to destroy weak walls
- Hidden keys carried by NPCs
- Underwater entrances and hidden tunnels
- Breakable ceilings and floors
Using Eagle Vision often highlights destructible objects in red, making puzzle-solving much easier.
Harbiyah Gear Chest Solutions
Upper Harbor Shelf Puzzle
The Upper Harbor chest contains one of the most complicated movable shelf puzzles in the game.
Push the first shelf forward and climb over the nearby crates. Pull the second shelf backward, then move around the left side to access another hidden shelf behind the path. Pull that shelf backward as well before returning to the entrance.
Once the shelves are repositioned correctly, the final path to the chest opens.
The Four Markets Puzzle
The chest in The Four Markets requires a key stolen from an NPC standing upstairs in a nearby building.
Use the key to access the storage room and retrieve an explosive red jar. Carry the jar behind the locked building and destroy the fragile wall blocking the upper path.
After entering, reposition the movable shelf to create a climbing route to the chest.
Damascus Gate Prison
The chest near Damascus Gate Prison requires a ranged lock break.
Move west of the locked room and throw a Throwing Knife through the gap to hit the lock behind the barred door.
Abbasiyah Gear Chest Solutions
Bazaar Throwing Knife Puzzle
In the Bazaar, climb nearby walls until you reach a rope overlooking the building.
Use Eagle Vision to locate the barred lock through the window and throw a Throwing Knife to destroy it remotely.
The Great Bimaristan
The Great Bimaristan chest requires you to access the building from the north side.
Throw a knife through the window to break the door barricade, then enter and move the bookshelf blocking the chest.
House Of Wisdom Tower Puzzle
The House of Wisdom chest requires both a key and a puzzle solution.
After obtaining the key from a rooftop NPC nearby, climb the tower and throw a knife through the upper window at the chandelier. The chandelier falls onto explosive jars below, destroying the floor and opening the upper route to the chest.
Karkh Gear Chest Solutions
Tax Collector’s Mansion
The Tax Collector’s Mansion chest is blocked by a bookshelf upstairs.
Enter through the open balcony entrance and move the shelf aside to reach the ladder and chest area.
Qasr Salih Explosive Floor Puzzle
At Qasr Salih, carry explosive jars onto the rooftop and throw them onto the weak floor section in the center.
This opens a hidden chamber beneath the roof containing the chest.
Bazaar Story-Locked Chest
One chest in The Bazaar cannot be accessed until the late-game mission Gilded Butterflies.
The building remains sealed until story progression unlocks the doors naturally.
Round City Gear Chest Solutions
Al-Jahiz’s House Puzzle
This chest requires one of the more elaborate climbing routes in the game.
Move shelves on the rooftop to create a platform path while carrying an explosive jar. Cross the rope walkway, then throw the explosive onto the fragile rooftop floor to break into the house below.
The chest is located downstairs after entering.
Mazalim Courts Window Entry
Destroy the highlighted rooftop window with a Throwing Knife and climb inside to reach the hidden chest room.
Wilderness Gear Chest Solutions
Dur-Kurigalzu Hidden Chamber
Inside Dur-Kurigalzu, move the stone block hiding an explosive jar.
Carry the jar into the next room and destroy the weak wall blocking the hidden chamber path.
Watermill Key Puzzle
The Watermill chest requires a key hidden underwater near the large wheel nearby.
Dive down to retrieve the key, move the shelf blocking the entrance, then unlock the chest.
Northern Oasis Isu Chests
The hidden Northern Oasis chamber contains three special chests requiring Mysterious Shards.
- Left chest costs 2 shards
- Right chest costs 3 shards
- Center chest costs 5 shards
These unlock powerful Isu-themed rewards including Milad’s Outfit and legendary weapons.

Step-by-Step
- Reach the Gear Chest location.
- Scan the area with Eagle Vision.
- Look for movable shelves, explosive jars, or barred doors.
- Search nearby rooftops and alternate entrances.
- Use Throwing Knives to break distant locks or weak surfaces.
- Carry explosive jars to fragile walls or floors when needed.
- Retrieve any required keys from nearby NPCs or hidden locations.
- Open the path to the chest and collect the gear reward.
What You Need
- Throwing Knives
- Eagle Vision
- Explosive red jars
- Story progression for certain districts
- Basic parkour and climbing upgrades
Best Strategy
Always scan puzzle areas with Eagle Vision before moving anything. Most destructible walls, barred doors, explosive jars, and breakable windows highlight in red and immediately reveal the intended solution.
It is also much easier to finish most Gear Chest puzzles after unlocking multiple tools and progressing deeper into the story. Some chests are intentionally blocked until later missions anyway, so do not waste hours trying to force a locked late-game area early.
Warnings
Some Gear Chests are locked behind story progression and cannot be solved early no matter how hard you try. The late-game Bazaar chest in Karkh is the biggest example.
Also, several shelf puzzles become annoying fast if you move objects randomly. Slow down for a second and trace the intended path before turning Basim into Baghdad’s least efficient furniture mover.
Rewards
Some Gear Chests are locked behind story progression and cannot be solved early no matter how hard you try. The late-game Bazaar chest in Karkh is the biggest example.
- New outfits
- Weapon unlocks
- Upgrade schematics
- District completion progress
- Progress toward the Explorer trophy
- Legendary Isu gear rewards
Tips
If you see a suspicious window, weak wall, or oddly placed explosive jar, there is probably a chest nearby. Assassin’s Creed Mirage really loves rewarding players who look up instead of charging through the front door.
And honestly, half the game is just Basim solving home renovation problems with knives and explosives.

The Hidden One Bureaus in Assassin’s Creed Mirage unlock naturally as you progress through the main story and investigate targets across Baghdad. Each bureau acts as a Hidden Ones safehouse, fast travel point, contract hub, and story location.
Most bureaus are hidden beneath rooftops rather than accessible from street level. Use Enkidu to scout for the classic Assassin insignia and look for a green rooftop with an opening or skylight you can drop through.
There are four main bureaus in the game located in Harbiyah, Abbasiyah, Karkh, and the Round City. Once you enter a bureau for the first time, it permanently unlocks as a fast travel point.

Where To Find Every Dye And Costume In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
In Assassin’s Creed Mirage, dyes are unlocked through story progression, eliminating Order Members, collecting Historical Sites, completing high-difficulty challenges, or purchasing them from merchants across Baghdad.
Costumes work differently from outfits. They completely change Basim’s appearance while keeping the stats of your currently equipped gear. Most costumes are earned through collectibles, major side activities, or endgame challenges.
Some exclusive dyes and costumes are also tied to Full Synchronization, Permadeath Mode, Twitch drops, Ubisoft Connect rewards, and DLC content.

The best way to collect them is by district progression. Start with the easier books in Harbiyah and Abbasiyah, move into Karkh and the Wilderness, then save the Palace of the Green Dome book for late game story progression.
Most Lost Books require small environmental puzzles involving barred doors, movable shelves, oil jars, or rooftop entrances.

How Pickpocketing Works And How To Steal Easier In Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Pickpocketing in Assassin’s Creed Mirage uses a quick-time event where you press the steal button a second time while a shrinking diamond lands inside the blue success zone. Successful steals reward Dirhams, trinkets, keys, or valuable Favor Tokens.
The easiest way to steal without failing is enabling Guaranteed Pickpocket in the gameplay settings. You can also unlock the Pickpocket Master skill to widen the timing window or use Sleep Darts to loot unconscious targets without triggering the mini-game.
Using Eagle Vision helps identify valuable targets quickly since rare loot carriers glow gold instead of white.
