How Moogle Intel Works
Moogle Intel activities are part of the larger World Intel system in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Each location contains a giant Mogstool that starts a minigame where you must chase wandering Mooglets back toward the center area.
Once completed, the area transforms into a Moogle Emporium where you can exchange Moogle Medals for rare rewards including:
- manuscripts
- folios
- crafting items
- accessories
- upgrade materials
Each completed location increases the overall Moogle merchant rank by one level.
Helpful Moogle Herding Tips
The Mooglets always fly away from your direction of approach.
To guide them properly:
- approach from behind
- slowly push them toward the center
- avoid sprinting directly at them
- use environmental obstacles to corner them
Some later regions introduce floating tornadoes. If a Mooglet flies into one, it becomes stunned temporarily and can be grabbed immediately.
Honestly, the Mooglets panic harder than most actual bosses in this game.
Grasslands Region – Prairie Moogle
Location
Southeast of Bill’s Ranch near Jadewind Hill.
Notes
This is the first Moogle Intel activity in the game and acts as the tutorial version of the mechanic.
Simply herd all five Mooglets back toward the grassy area surrounding the central Mogstool.
Junon Region – Mariner Moogle
Location
West of Activation Intel 4 near a hill north of a Chocobo Stop.
Notes
Use the regional chocobo climbing ability to scale the nearby cliff wall and access the area.
This region introduces tornado traps that can stun Mooglets for easier captures.
Corel Region – Tropical Moogle
Location
Northwest of the Training Gym near the Valve Factory Ruins.
Notes
Follow the uphill path to reach the Mogstool.
The Corel region starts introducing more aggressive Mooglet movement patterns, making positioning more important.
Accessible during Chapter 7.
Corel Desert Region – Wasteland Moogle
Location
Far southeast section of the desert area south of Expedition Intel 6.
Notes
Reach the area by following the path behind Activation Intel 6.
This version features wider open terrain that makes Mooglets easier to lose if approached carelessly.
Accessible during Chapter 9.
Gongaga Region – Woodland Moogle
Location
Southeast of Activation Intel 5 along the southern main road.
Notes
This challenge introduces a timer limit for the first time.
You now have four minutes to gather every Mooglet successfully, making efficient pathing much more important.
Cosmo Canyon Region – Highlands Moogle
Location
South mountain summit near Gliding Range No. 14.
Notes
This is one of the trickiest locations to reach.
To access it:
- travel west around the mountain
- use gliding ramps
- chain glide paths upward
- reach Gliding Range No. 16
- continue to the summit area
Fast traveling to the gliding range later makes this much easier.
Nibel Region – Hedge Moogle
Location
Northeast of the Nibel Airstrip across the river southeast of Activation Intel 2.
Notes
This final challenge combines timers with faster Mooglet movement patterns.
Completing this Moogle Intel unlocks the Moogle Lover trophy if all previous regions are finished.
Moogle Emporium Rewards
As your merchant rank increases, the Moogle Emporium inventory expands significantly.
Important rewards include:
- manuscripts
- folios
- rare crafting materials
- combat upgrades
- accessories
If you plan on completing Hard Mode or maximizing character builds, these shops become surprisingly valuable.
Why Moogle Intel Matters
Although the Moogle minigames seem simple at first, they tie directly into progression systems tied to combat growth and character upgrades.
Completing all seven locations contributes toward:
- World Intel completion
- merchant progression
- endgame preparation
- Platinum progression
- Moogle Lover trophy unlock
And yes, by the seventh region you will absolutely start hearing kupo noises in your sleep.
