Lady Of Sap Quest Guide

The Lady of Sap quest is one of the more memorable optional side stories in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. Found within Falling Leaves, the quest eventually leads to the hidden Scavenger boss and several valuable rewards.

While the objectives are simple once you know where to go, the game provides very little direction about how to progress the quest.

How To Reach Falling Leaves

Falling Leaves is located in the northwestern region of the Continent near the Floating Cemetery.

Before entering, you'll need Esquie's Coral Breaking ability to access the area.

Once inside, speak with the Gestral near the entrance for hints about a dangerous enemy lurking deeper within the zone.

Find The Lady Of Sap

As you explore Falling Leaves, you'll eventually encounter the massive Lady of Sap.

When you first interact with her, she refuses to respond.

Before leaving the area, make sure to visit the nearby Manor Door to collect its rewards.

At this stage, the quest cannot progress until you speak with another NPC.

Speak To The Young Boy

Continue through the area until you reach a fork in the path.

Ignore the bridge leading toward the Chromatic Ballet encounter and continue forward before turning left.

Here you'll find a Young Boy standing in front of a set of locked double doors.

Speak with him and he'll ask you to discover why the Lady of Sap has caused so much suffering.

Return To The Lady Of Sap

Go back to the Lady of Sap and continue speaking with her.

After several dialogue attempts, she'll finally reveal her answer:

"I do it for him. I do it for us. To respect what he created, what we created."

Once she speaks, return to the Young Boy.

After hearing her response, he opens the gate behind him and grants access to the final area.

Unlock The Scavenger Boss

With the gate open, follow the linear path upward.

Climb the rope to the summit and collect the Expedition 49 Journal before approaching the arena.

A cutscene triggers immediately and begins the fight against the Scavenger.

How To Beat The Scavenger

The Scavenger specializes in Dark-element attacks.

Because of this, Light-based weapons and skills perform exceptionally well during the fight.

Recommended strategy:

  • Use Light damage whenever possible.
  • Apply Burn for additional damage over time.
  • Focus entirely on the boss instead of summoned masks.
  • Save healing resources for the later phases.

As the battle progresses, the arena gradually darkens from daylight to night.

Once darkness fully takes over, the Scavenger begins using ambush attacks from the shadows that require careful timing to dodge.

The boss can also summon floating masks that inflict Dizzy, making Free Aim attacks more difficult to land.

Although the masks may seem threatening, it's generally more efficient to continue attacking the Scavenger directly.

Final Rewards

After defeating the Scavenger, you'll receive:

  • Scaverim for Lune
  • Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x3

Before leaving Falling Leaves, return to the Young Boy one final time.

He rewards you with the Until Next Life music record, completing the questline.

What You Need

  • Access to Falling Leaves
  • Esquie's Coral Breaking ability

Rewards

  • Scaverim for Lune
  • Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x3
  • Until Next Life Music Record
  • Expedition 49 Journal

Tips

  • Don't forget to collect the Expedition 49 Journal before fighting the Scavenger.
  • Light-element attacks significantly improve your damage output.
  • Ignore the summoned masks and focus on the boss itself.
  • Return to the Young Boy after the fight or you'll miss the Until Next Life music record.
